    Hackintosh and M1 macs are so complementary. Hackintosh can run anything (win, Linux, macOS, games...) and will do great at heavy basic workloads (like noise reduction to raw 4k &export in prores) . M1 Macs are wnappy and will do great at all the daily stuff and video editing the common codecs / final.

      I'm tempted by M1 entry level Mac mini to replace my 3770k/rx580 hack, but I feel like this chip is really meant to be inside a laptop... And once you add 1tb of storage (I need storage and editing on the go from external is a no.) it's far from cheap...

      Yeah I feel like they can go together really nicely I'm keeping mine around mainly just as my Windows / Gaming machine! And yeah I agree storage is where they fall down a bit apples pricing is nuts, I looked at some alternatives in my most recent video, speed wise you can get most of the way there with thunderbolt 3 but understand on the go nothing is as convenient as internal!

    Good video ! Just one critique - you might want to reduce the headspace between you and the top of the frame !

      I like the overall style of the guy in the corner with not so much light. Keep that style, you don't need to look like all the other RUclipsrs . The important is the content and the computers lol. Maybe a small light on your face but keep it underground dude

      @@mcronfpv8736 haha thanks buddy appreciate the kind words! I agree content is king but always nice to work on visuals too, as it happens for this video I forgot to turn my light up at the start 😂

    Very interesting. I feel that Apple could possibly increase performance on their M1 products if they allowed the fan to run earlier. I haven’t noticed too much throttling but any I did notice, I feel the fan being switched on would have helped with.

    • @_imteeyaz
      @_imteeyaz  3 года назад

      Definitely! Even when I was pushing the mini as hard as I could I couldn't here the fan at all and the temp was about 60 degrees max, lots of headroom there!

    hackintosh spends 20x more electricity, if the M1 chips had some extra power consumption and had a decent system and dicipation. He is facing all competitors like a smartphone, all in the minimum consumption and heating, if they were treated like a desktop CPU, increased voltage and discipation, he would be 3x faster than the competitors.

    • @_imteeyaz
      @_imteeyaz  3 года назад +1

      Excellent point the M1 machines definitely consume way less power, should definitely consider that factor!

    What would be the equivalent Intel based setup to the current M1

    • @_imteeyaz
      @_imteeyaz  3 года назад

      Hi mate! Tricky one to answer as the M1 outperforms Intel chips in some things but falls behind in others, so I guess it depends what you're main use would be!

      @@_imteeyaz Typical student use, some lol, among us and sims gaming at most. Would you say these M1s are similar to getting a i7 $600-800 PC laptop?

    • @_imteeyaz
      @_imteeyaz  3 года назад

      Ah I get you! I can't see an i7 laptop in that range getting close to the M1 without a dedicated GPU tbh! But equally I haven't use a Windows laptop in a while so going off what other reviews are suggesting 😅
