Loved the comparison! Seems we have some similar use cases with gaming in windows and content creation in MacOS. My takeaway is that for now, there's no need to move on from my fairly recent hackintosh build, but the next gen of MacBook Pros may change that... Great video!
Great video! I have a question. Why don't you use sm 20,1 with igpu uhd630 Quicksync. Why choose 1,1. Have you tested or not. Between 20,1 wuth igpu and 1,1 Only dGPU, which one works better on FCX , PR , Davici.
I enjoyed the video as usual. Wish I had a graphics card. I have a NR200 running an Asrock H470m-itx, CPU i9 10900, 16 GB ram all that with a full sized bluray player in it. I could shoe horn a graphics card in there, but....can't find one for a price that makes it worth it.
Yeah, chip shortage sucks. I think the 6600XT is going to be one of the more reasonable options if you can find one for around the 500-550 mark. OS 12.1 though.
I’ve tried that too- however (and this may be an FCP quirk) the dGPU isn’t fully utilized in the program. Essentially the iMac Pro SMBIOS forces the dGPU to be used, at the expense of the iGPU being ignored in some operations. I haven’t found a good way to reconcile the two for FCP, even enabling the iGPU in BIOS has no effect. At the end of the day it’s a hack so… 😁
Note- There is a typographical error in the infographic for the object tracking benchmark- the clip time for the analyzed is 10 seconds.
The M1 to M1 and Apples to ...
to be honest that will be an underappreciated joke, I like it to be honest.

Cool comparison! Do you ever do Q&As?
Would love to!
Interesting stuff man. Why not just shoot ProRes to an external device, from the likes of Atamos?
Certainly a great option if rigging it up- with the right recorder like a Ninja V one could get RAW with cameras like the A7S3 and FX3.
@@MachinesMore just thought it might save you some cash but if you already have the Mac, it's all good.
Any chance to review ID Cooling SE 226 XT?
Maybe upgrade to the i9-10900F at the same time as RX-6600XT?
Would be a reasonable option, but frankly the 10700K is good enough for FCP, at least in x86 the CPU doesn’t seem to scale as well in many operations.
Apple is getting credit that ARM deserves.
That's not ARM. That's the TSMC 5nm process. It's just A BEEFY mobile processor with lots of more L2/L3/L1 cache, VRAM ETC.
If it was for arm's shitty cortex designs silicon macs would never exist.
Which version of mac os on the hackintosh?
I use iMac20,2 for my 10700k. Seems to work well.
