    ASHLEY! You look STUNNING. I mean… you’re always pretty, but damn! That glow!! Also: how did you know this is the video I needed right now in my life? Hoya obsessed rn! Mine hang out in my east windowsill, I’ve been confused on why they are growing well/ sending out so many runners but no blooms. It’s all I want!

      The plants are just feelin their way around! They do that sometimes which makes me sad 😭

    I just use about 15 drops of cal-mag and water my Hoyas with that. My Gracilis constantly has 30+ peduncles on her at all times!

    Doug Chamberlain says less light to make his Hoyas bloom. He has been growing /cultivating Hoyas for years and years.

    Do you read minds!? I was just thinking the other day, man I wish someone would explain how to get hoya to bloom... Does the age/size of the plant affect whether it will bloom?

    • @hollypuckett3931
      @hollypuckett3931 3 года назад +3

      I've heard that any age/size plant is capable of blooming once it's become root bound. I can't personally speak to that but I have heard that often. It's also a great idea to study up on the particular variety as some have completely different native conditions (like the cloud forest, etc ) and doing your best to mimic those conditions in your home. Giving the plant as close to it's ideal environment will also create blooms. Stress or extreme comfort 🤣🤣

      @@hollypuckett3931 I have a big Hoya Sp. Aff. Burtoniae that's starting to sun stress in a west facing window. Maybe it will give me some blooms this summer. 🙏

    I try to water all sides of the pot because my pot of carnosa compacta was hanging at a little bit of an angle and the water would sit in the pot a certain way. Which caused the strand that was up higher to get wrinkled faster so i’d take it down to water it. So it was level

    I HAVE A HOYA VARIEGATED AND I WOULD LIKE TO PROPAGATE IT. HOW DO I DO IT ?DO I PUT OT IN WATER OIN SOIL?

    What do you think about orchid spray for hoyas? I have all my Hoya in a hot ass sunny window and have started spraying everyone with orchid spray this summer. I have SO MUCH nee growth, even on Hoya that I hadn’t seen any growth on (and had for over a year) now has tons of growth. A lot of hot pinks on my krimsons and on my variegated Hindu rope. I am hoping I get a peduncle soon on one of them! I also wait till they are begging for water as well!

    Have you ever had a Hoya that doesn’t have a growth point? I have a queen that has healthy leaves but haven’t seen any speck of a growth point in over a month! There are 2 “dead ends” in one spot. I chopped below a node to see if it encourages a new growth point somewhere! Any advice?? Or do I just leave it alone???

    • @PlantingAshley
      @PlantingAshley  3 года назад +2

      Yes! They will grow a new point in eventually :)

      I had something similar happen with my krimson queen after I got it shipped in. It had no growth points after shipping damage then out of nowhere it just sprouted a random one on the opposite end of the plant and took off really fast with 2 big beautiful leaves. 🖤

    I would be very careful following the advice of letting them get so dry. you don't need to almost kill them to get them to bloom.. that advice can lead to dry rot for beginners...
