These types of individuals are selfish, impulsive, and irrational giving way for their emotions to control them. They don't seem to fully think things through and realize there are consequences for their actions. Some think they're smart enough to get away with it which shows their lack of real intelligence and common sense. This applies as well to the murderers who are articulate and educated.

      Diminished returns, the more you're exposed to something the less satisfied you are. So people that can get or do anything at the drop of a hat need more and more to feel excitement or enjoy anything. Then once you've done and have it all your just left with a feeling of disappointment and frustration. It's why money can't actually buy sustainable happiness. It can make you feel secure, it can buy you toys but how long until you're board of those?

      @@mom.left.me.at.michaels9951 Just a question: so how does this explain why 'allegedly' people with less money are 'satisfied'? I mean, what is the fundamental difference? At which point in the accumulation of things or doing activities, does this change for any given person? I hope my question makes sense. I think some people with wealth are just as happy as some people without it. In the Murdaugh case, I think they enjoyed their wealth and family life and ties as much as anybody else. Clout they may have pursued, but I think wealth just came naturally for them. P.S. Did anyone try and buy you at Michaels? lol.

  • @nancifyme
    @nancifyme 5 месяцев назад +29

    Great episode. But I am surprised you left out one of the most compelling pieces of evidence, which was the way Creighton closed the case against Alex.
    In Alex’s interviews, when he walked through the timeline of the night of the murders, he describes checking the bodies and then says he called 911.
    But his car’s data indicated the time he came to a stop at the kennels. And comparing this time with the time of his 911 call, it was clear that there was no time to check the bodies before calling 911. (The logical inference is that as soon as he pulled up, he called 911 because he already knew they were dead, given that he shot them before racing to his Mother’s.)
    Alex tried to reinterpret his responses in the interviews, but it was futile. He was caught in yet another lie.

I don't know how long you stayed with your ex but the longer you did, your son probably sub-consciously or not sees that as 'well it couldn't have been that bad' or a betrayal on your part for staying in the relationship where abuse went on. Parental alienation is real for both parents…. I was a victim of it where my two sons were turned against me because I simply didn’t want to be with their father. This affected both children psychologically as one son has mental issues. Thank God, the other son came back to me at 18 and graduated with his masters in speech pathology.

    Lifetime or HBO couldn’t have written a more vile or “true crime” series or movie. That’s how unbelievable this case was. Straight out of Hollywood in the backroads of a small community. It’s truly heartbreaking about the lives lost, including Paul and Maggie. Mallory Beach, Stephen Smith, and Gloria Saterfield. I remember every name because they deserve the light to shine on their stories so something like this CANNOT be commited by another man or woman ever again. It’s truly a modern crime-turned-tragedy.
    Alex Murdaugh will meet his maker one day, and face the same judgment.

How they desperately hoped the girl was still alive, while Paul just laughed and mocked the boyfriend of the victim.
