18:51 The fix I usually use for things that rely heavily in my wifi connection is actually making a hotspot with my pc! PCs and laptops with Windows (and also Ubuntu, idk about other Linux distros but there's probably also a way on those) can create a hotspot! That way, since your pc IS the hotspot, the pc connection is actually 0ms, and then you 3ds only needs to be near your PC to have a great connection. Note that if your PC's wifi anthena isn't really good, maybe this method won't work as great. But chances are that this will do the trick, and pretty well actually! Hope this helped!!
I do the same for gaming online on switch (and did on 3ds when official servers were still up). Not all wifi cards support creating a hotspot though, so be careful! I bought a cheap card on aliexpress which surprisingly has served me well for a few years now. But I only use it to create a hotspot.

Holy shit, that kind of performance changes things. Before I thought a direct connection was going to be the only way to get a 60 fps output from the 3DS and it would never be able to handle it wirelessly. Now? I want to see how well this works with a Wii U. Can we get 60 fps 3DS games to wirelessly stream to Wii U and be able to control it with the gamepad controls and touchscreen? Is this a reality that can really happen???
Reasons like this are why I love the 3ds modding community. Also I installed it within seconds of clicking on the video lol. I can say though that this is 100% better than plain Boot NTR for streaming 3ds gameplay!
Going from NTR to HR is like lowering your ram timings on desktop to the point emulating switch games gives no frame drops or stutter. A bit of a strange comparison, but you bet your shoes it feels great!
Honestly, I'd happily take performance over quality. I love that this is a thing. Just recently, I tried to record footage from my 3DS with the original. Now that this exist. I can do it in a better way.

Doing this on a 2ds xl and was getting errors such as: "Remote play send failed" "Remote play update timeout" And after a couple of attempts the remote play IP on the ds goes to : 0.0.0.0 to which I'll either need to go reinitialize NTR or get the error "Cannot open Socket" when putting the viewer IP in. Any troubleshooting for any of this?
@@Zerobasssoul sometimes the WiFi can do that, I've had those issues before. Just make sure your DS is on the same network as your computer. Forcing the wifi connection in Luma3DS can also help

NTR-HR crashes my n2dsxl when trying to run USUM no matter what I do, it flashes green and then crashes, even if I enable the NFC patch and am not even streaming to the viewer, any ideas? It doesn't crash with regular BootNTR, so HR is the issue it seems, which sucks

How do you get the good quality audio capture? Im still using the old NTR and im having to fall back to an aux cable. And the headphone jack in my experience has always been dodgy on 3DS systems.
@@Riddim_glitch I simply use an aux cable as well. I've noticed the headphone jack on my DS has come a bit loose overtime though, if anything I just be careful and try to not move the system too much/aggressively. I also don't use it for anything much other than video capture to prevent wear and tear
Are there other things, you need to take care off? As I connected my 3ds via the headphone jack, it just did nothing, even after I played around with the audio devices. Everytime someone talks about a way to stream audio with NTR, it just sounds like they connect the cable and everything magically works... @@RouterRoidz
@marvj13 You may need to configure something on your computer, I had to set my computer's headphone jack to be treated like a microphone is plugged in. How you do this varies by computer
Has anyone managed yet to make it so you can stream 2 or more devices to the same computer/network? Seems like it should been easy enough and I'm sure people want it.
I don't think anyone has got that working yet, that would be pretty cool though. Would be useful for recording stuff like Mario Kart 1v1 races for example

I have that issue as well (the 3DS not connecting to the network I want) Thesedays you can actually force your 3DS to a specific connection with Luma3DS But yeah, cool to hear someone's been around the bush with this back then :)
to me I moved on from that and just plug in my old 2DS for pure rom dumping and just emulate the stuff with the latest backed up version of Citra Vulkan

@@HUNTEE920 Here are some things you can try: 1: Whitelight Viewer-HR on any firewalls you may have running 2: Make sure your New 3DS/2DS and your computer are on the same network, and you're inputting the correct local IP address. If you have multiple networks saved on your DS, make sure it's connecting to the same one as your computer, if not, you could try deleting the networks that are causing issues.

Artic base server and this NTR fork, while being different can both help me achieve the same thing. To what I'm asking: Artic base server, has good quality but slow load times. Uses additional resources. NTR fork, lower quality, input delay?, minimal resource consumption. But would this be a smoother gameplay experience?
it'd probably be really fast, but really stupid, to make a demo system for a game and then stream the game data instead of the screen for the pc to render so the 3ds is doing less work, then you'll be able to get really smooth footage maybe possibly probably not (this is an incredibly stupid idea and i dont have the technical knowledge to make it)
That already kinda exists in the form of Artic Base for Citra Emulator (it works on all 3DS family systems btw!), it has long load times for some games though.

You have to have a compatible wifi card though
iPhones do support 2.4ghz hotspot, it’s a toggle in the settings called “maximize compatibility” I use it with my 3ds’(plural) all the time

It shouldn't flash green. Try disabiliing the Game Plugin Loader option
(X+Y Menu > Plugin Loader > Game Plugin Loader)

Yeah since NTR CFW does not carry sound. A plain-old 3.5mm audio cable will work fine (provided you have a way to get audio in your computer)

Don't know why that happens for you but there's a lite version for the prerelease ntrviewer-hr, it may have better compatibility.

Couple games i couldnt get working Starfox 64, Mario 3D land, and OOT.
Mario 3d land does work all you need to do is enable the debugger in the rosalina menu and you're set

I have one but I still prefer to play on my Old3DSXL which is the one I bought way back then.
Old3DS is not compatible with NTR streaming. New3DS is required cuz it has the extra processing power the Old3DS doesn't have

How do you disable the menus in the desktop app? After I connected with my 3ds the menus were still visible with no option to close them
@@erebosgod On NTRViewer-HR, simply click anywhere in the window to close that popup
Its funny because running this on a 3ds is pretty much the same as Netorare-'ing a DS lol
Does this provide a better experience than using artic base server?
This has nothing to do with Artic Base since no emulation is used
@@RouterRoidz I'm very aware, my use case is to maintain my save data on the 3ds. While being able to have the gameplay on the big screen.
Artic base server and this NTR fork, while being different can both help me achieve the same thing.
To what I'm asking:
Artic base server, has good quality but slow load times. Uses additional resources.
NTR fork, lower quality, input delay?, minimal resource consumption. But would this be a smoother gameplay experience?

How do you get audio
@@epicslapbattlesguy7362 I used a 3.5mm audio cable plugged into the DS headphone jack and my computer
it'd probably be really fast, but really stupid, to make a demo system for a game and then stream the game data instead of the screen for the pc to render so the 3ds is doing less work, then you'll be able to get really smooth footage maybe possibly probably not (this is an incredibly stupid idea and i dont have the technical knowledge to make it)
That already kinda exists in the form of Artic Base for Citra Emulator (it works on all 3DS family systems btw!), it has long load times for some games though.

Why is it called NTR? It's the original DS' codename and also has a really bad meaning on the internet. Did they just do it for fun because of the meaning or something?

Just emulate it 🫠 even a phone can run 3Ds at ×3 resolution. And no, you don't lose anything from the experience.
