Wow! I’m doing this again One of these weekends. I love going to the opposite side and end up in Needwood Lake, it is a very peaceful and beautiful place!
The fact that this is in DC is baffling I mean I know all about rock creek park I need to visit I lived in dc for about 18 years I live in Clinton MD now but it’s crazy how rock creek park looks
The water is very contaminated. Its the most contaminated water in the area even more than parts of the Anacostia River. You def don't want to swallow any accidentally.
@@topheavykoolaid Na. Closest spots are Fredericksburg VA or Front Royal VA. I mean I see people in the water in like Leesburg and other spots in Maryland but its recommended not to be in the water there. They tried to open up the Anacostia in DC for swimming last summer, but both days it was supposed to happen they had to cancel due to high sewage levels. There are some private swimming lakes in Northern Virginia but they are for residents of the neighborhood only (Lake Barcroft in Falls Church is closest to DC).
Be careful not to stumble over rocks, logs and murder victims' corpses. I've done a small stretch around Adams Morgan. Much prefer Great Falls/Billy Goat trail near Potomac MD, but parking is nearly impossible on weekends. And for that matter, living in Fredericksburg, much, MUCH prefer "hiking" Belle, Island in Richmond. Better breweries near by. And...I've found DC and it's residents to be unfriendly/unwelcoming.
When I was a kid there was some story of a Senator or something who killed his intern and threw her in Rock Creek Park, but on my journey I did not see any bodies.
I laughed at this comment because I live on Blair rd in Silver Spring and DC is across the street from me so for me it is literally across the street from me.
If I did that I wouldn't have ever held up the Stanley Cup with the players, wouldn't have gone to the World Series, wouldn't have had 100 awesome nights out...
Great video
Thanks!
Very cool, thanks for sharing this hike with us…I’m inspired!!😊
Thanks for watching!
😭😭😭 he made the walk look good depending on where you at you can walk from md to dc in 5 mins
Well, the border each other, so you could technically walk there in one step
Exactly
Something to do this weekend. Thanks!
Great video
Gracias!
Oh yeaa good hike!
It was a long one, but it was fun
Im moving there this year
Sorry to hear that.
@@richardburns9772 why it's a great area
The colorful yellow flowers are highly invasive lesser celandine sadly.
Cool video!
I agree. He should have paused the video and stomped all over them
Awesome video. Have you done Scott's run in mclane
Yeah, last summer I think: ruclips.net/video/_G7cdB6oUWA/видео.html

Used to live right across from Sligo Creek great area
Nice nature walk. I always wondered how far Sligo creek goes.

I had no idea, this was a very shocking day to me, I was quite happy with the footage.
A bug hunt is due 😏🤨😆😆😄😀😃😄😃🤨
Why can’t you swim/wade in the water?

@@DMVAdventures darn it. It looks very inviting
@@DMVAdventures I live in DC. is there anywhere that is ok for swimming (that’s out in nature, not a swimming pool)

I’ve smoked weed through there many times it’s only like 5 miles 😂

Yeah he walked through the woods cause crossing Eastern or Southern Avenue would have been wilder....

@@DMVAdventures Gary Condit and Chanda Levy. I remember that. I had just moved to VA a couple years earlier.
Boohoo. DC is right across the street from Maryland. Like a true 5-minute walk...
Actually, since they border each other, it would be a zero minute walk

The best thing to do is to avoid DC altogether.

🧢…. New neighbors come to DC and really try to make it out to be this wonderful place 😂😂😂😂 STOP IT
