So, learning to draw from observation and from imagination improve each other and feed each other. Each one raises new questions and provides new answers and it's just been an amazingly impactful and exciting month for my art progress. Please let me know what you think of my learning strategy, how you've been approaching your art, and anything else that might have come up as you were watching. Especially ask questions and give advice! I'm thinking of making a video soon where I read out the comments because I always love watching those. Proko has been such an amazing resource that I've grown to love and trust and I'm looking forward to studying more of his materials as well as Loomis in the future.

heck yeah duud, everyone's improved so much, i didn't really stick to it so i didn't get as much improvement, but i wasn't wasting my time playing games, i've focused most of my attention on painting, variety of colors in skin tones, certain effects like fire and bounce light, i will try to participate in the next challenge for the sake of my skills
I love seeing your little art experiments! I definitely see you putting your time to good use :)
'-' this is basically the same for me when I start to learn that to draw ... the same thoughts ...
Glad to hear! You're definitely not alone :))
How long have u been drawing ?? Cuz it looks really really good. Congrats
Polite young man LOL
すごいアート!とても素敵です。共有していただきありがとう御座います。
Great drawing! Very nice. Thank you for sharing.
Arigatou!
Are you me? When you were talking about how you felt like you lost that touch of "everything is going so well" that's how I felt! And then when you said that in week 4 you felt like maybe you hadn't improved as much... I FELT THAT TOO?! I was actually a bit down about until I posted the comparison and saw that I made huge improvements. But it does feel weird to go from such a high "WOW look how good these are" to "oh, there are still a lot of problems with this" lol. I also noticed that a lot of the portraits on the pinterest board were 3/4 but for me that was good. When I draw on my own, I tend to default to portraits that are straight on, so this was a good change for me!
I'm so impressed with your improvement! Both for the portraits and your bodies too. Seeing you do those drawings at the start was so impressive :D
Everyone's been doing such a great job !! Big thumbs up to all of us for doing this !
Yayyy! Well done! 💜💐
Thank you so much!!!
@@Mithrilda You're welcome 😀
omg, i rlly felt it when u said u were happier with the earlier iteration of the portrait then the most recent one you made, and its bc your eye is getting better at noticing mistakes. i still struggle trying to understand these feelings and know that they dont dictate my entire art progress and journey, but im super glad i someone else who went thru it too, so thank you
Glad to help in any way! Good luck on your art journey!
Are you still drawing? ❤
I joined today 😭😭😭😭
Good luck!
It was awesome to see everyone practicing, such wonderful motivation to see others putting in their own effort. I think relating the experience and all the realizations you had is so useful for people going through their own learning pains :] I'll definitely be sharing this around. Great video and thanks for the setting up the challenge :D
Pretty good! Keep it up!
No matter how life gets busy, please always keep on practicing your craft.
One of my favorite artists works in office but she always draws because it's like her stress outlet. Like people wanting to play games for fun.
I badly want to make art as my main stress outlet over games. Games will serve as just my main source of inspiration to do art and sometimes a stress reliever.
Although since we're both learning languages, I take advantage of playing video games to learn a new language too(currently learning French then proceeding to Russian after some sort of fluency). :)
I'll try my best! Especially to keep it something fun and an escape from some of my stress rather than something I'm burnt out on and forced to do.
good job 😲💕
prokos tutorials helped me a lot.
I really love them now!
I think doing a dissections exercise/warmup from drawabox will help with rotation in your mind's eye
I know you did it before in your previous video but I think it will help
And here I was thinking you draw this good after a month of draw a box. Then I realized you're around two years after draw a box... I want to draw good but the amount of time required for this to happen overwhelms me.
I'm working on my time management myself, but the most important thing to remember is that everything counts. A few minutes and hours snatched from your time will add up to hundreds of hours over the year. I've taken breaks of months and years but all the practice still counts. The most important thing is to decide what you want to do and do everything in your power to move in that direction. Also, talent is a myth. If you want to do something you can. But you'll only do it if you want it enough and it's worth it to you.
You didn't lost anything your eyes just leveled up and you can spot mistakes easier!
Yay and also not yay! It feels good improving, but the more I go, the more I see wrong lmao. I guess that's where the power of comparing with past works comes in.
@@Mithrilda Don't worry your hand and skills will catch up, you'll like your work again and then start to hate it again! it's a cycle!
You’re so underrated!
I didn't do this challenge because of stress, but I will be doing the next one, I'm really excited. Thank you for taking your time to make these challenges for other artists, I really appreciate it.
Health and safety first! Do join in for May if you're feeling up to it :) it's been so much fun improving alongside everyone this month.
If you want to go for a soft landing re coloring and you are using procreate then I am using watercolor brushes I found online. It gives a nice soft coloring effect and it doesn’t matter so much if you mess up.
That sounds like fun! Thanks for the suggestion!
Are you still learning japanese?
Haii I am!
👏👏👏👏👏
GOOD JOB MITH
Thank you!!
Such a lovely video. And you seem so nice too! Well done everybody :)
Thank you so much!
@@Mithrilda Pity I missed the challenge ;) keep up the good work, your progress's amazing
@@silviamartinelli6848 will do! It's never too late to join in! We're doing the May challenge now focusing on skulls and eyes and I have some people doing last month's challenge in the discord too!
@@Mithrilda that's a nice suggestion, I might! I'll look into the challenge (total beginner though). Btw, I was also very grateful for your video on Drawabox: I was hesitant to start the class but in the end I did, thanks to you!
I'm very glad to hear! I love it when people get started, it's such an exciting part of the journey :))
