13:24 The reason is why Ferrari cars don't appear on 2000s to early 2010s NFS Games, except NFS Shift via DLC, is because Ferrari don't want to have customization options on their cars, like performance or bodykits, and they believe their cars are "Perfect", that's why Ferrari cars on NFS Shift don't have customization or upgrade options, and also on NFS Shift Developers, Slightly Mad Studios' another game, Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends, which is totally Ferrari franchised game, have plans for customization on that game, but Ferrari don't want to with same reason.
although mobile games nfs like NFS Mobile, MW2012 and No Limits exists, there are also some mobile nfs games like Undercover, Shift 1 and Hot Pursuit 2010 which were developed by IronMonkey Studio and Shift 2 Unleashed iOS by Straight Rights. And you know what's funny or weird about it is, HP2010 for the iOS and Android got delisted and ended support in 2019, probably for the sake of the Remaster release in 2020. Undercover did had Java, Nokia Symbian and iOS mobile versions but not an Android version, probably because Android phones weren't launched or popular back then. EDIT: More info for the handheld NFS Titles (PSP, NDS, GBA, Java etc.) PSP version of NFS Games were developed by the following: Underground Rivals (Team Fusion) Most Wanted 5-1-0 (Team Fusion) Carbon Own the City (Team Fusion with the help of Black Box) Prostreet PSP (Team Fusion) Undercover PSP (Piranha Games) Shift 1 PSP (EA Bright Light/EA UK; the developers of Burnout Dominator) Java version NFS games: MW05 (Firemint) Carbon (Rovio Mobile) Prostreet (Ironmonkey Studio) Undercover Velocity (Ironmonkey) Shift 1 (Ironmonkey) The lists goes on an on. 8:44 Porsche also lets you do that. 10:59 Heat and Unbound don't have a day-night cycle, they just let you choose if you want to play at day or at night but it never changes regardless of how much time you spend with either one. 12:22 There is no evidence to suggest Honda did not want to appear in street racing games, them not appearing in some racing games in the early 2000's was an issue that had to do with licensing in Europe, that's why certain games didn't have Honda or Acura in Europe but did in America... including Underground 2. In The Fast & The Furious on the PS2 they had to cut like a 3rd of the campaign in the PAL versions of the game because of this. 12:58 This applies to Toyota as well, there's no evidence to suggest that they have anything against street racing games in particular, since they've been featured in Initial D and other Japanese titles for years. More likely their issue has to do with the region these games are released in as well as the companies publishing them. Toyota actually returned in NFS Mobile recently, a game that's published by Tencent, not EA, and given the fact that they've pretty much returned in every other racing franchise full time tells me they just don't want to work with EA on account of their poor reputation. 14:00 Also BS, Ferrari's weird absence in some games more likely has to do with their terrible negotiating skills, something which they're quite famous for if you look at their history. They sold the rights to certain cars exclusively to Sony and Microsoft, hence why some games such as Test Drive Unlimited 1&2 feature some Ferrari models on one platform but not the other. Their return to NFS on the 360 coincides with Porsche's appearance in Forza, so most likely what happened is EA and MS essentially agreed to trade exclusivity to have Ferrari and Porsche in their game. This probably didn't last because EA got the short end of the stick in that deal. 18:20 The SLR is absent because EA's licensing team is incompetent, their competitors have managed to feature the SLR without issues. Also the mods replace existing cars, so you can't really "bring them back" per se.
On the PS2 version of Undercover you could be a police officer, you could drive the 997 GT2, the Ford Mustang, and the Lamborghini Gallardo. You would be spawned in the same city everytime and take out the same 8 cars. It would reward you 20k each time you do the event, making it one of the best ways to make money in the game.
My headcanon is that the Battle Machine RX7 belongs to Ryan Cooper and the NFS Prostreet intro takes place after Ryan becomes Street King. The car in the intro appears in all race types which will make sense as Ryan Cooper is the champion of all race discplines by the end of NFS Prostreet.
Some additional info about the Nintendo console ports: Technically there WAS an actual NFS game for the Nintendo 64, although it's technically a spin-off, but Beetle Adventure Racing was basically (and originally) an NFS game from the classic era, except all the cars you could use are Beetles (or HSVs if you play the australian version). EA signed a deal with Volkswagen to promote the (back then) New Beetle, the game was developed by Paradigm Entertainment alongside EA Canada, even inside of the game's files there's an unused NFS logo that looks like the one used for V-Rally.
Edit : the cut content car convertibles and Bugatti from Heat made it through NFS Unbound NFS rivals had they unique car lists and pursuit tech and snow mountains like HP 2010 unlike HP 2010 almost every car is available on both sides except The Porsche Boxster Spyder 2010 , Ford Crown Vic 2008, Carbon Motors E7 Concept NFS MW 2012 had the Hennessey Venom GT ,McLaren F1 LM as a dlc , but returned in Rivals as cop variant
I've been watching your videos for a good 7-8 years, and man, the quality has increased drastically, especially in the last year or 2. Great job on this video man.
The "fact" that Toyota does not want to be featured in games featuring illegal street racing is entirely false and was caused by the Twitter account posting the image shown, and it was later deleted. This can be disproven by Toyota featuring cars in games like SEGA's Initial D arcade games like the famous AE86, and the real reason Toyota disappeared from NFS is because it was stated by higher ups that they do not want to associate with non-Japanese developers.
to be honest, although the golden era is the soul of need for speed, NFS the run, and Rivals were great games, if payback wasnt so... dull, it could have been too.

You made 2 typos. The Classic Era started in 1994 with Road & Track presents The Need For Speed, not 1997. 1997 is the release year of Need For Speed II btw. As for the Black Box era, it started actually in 2002 with NFS Hot Pursuit 2 PS2 and his successful release let Black Box taking charge of NFS titles from 2003 to 2008. In fact, NFS Underground released in 2003 is primarly a transition from the Classic Era. At the time of release, Black Box were inspired by the 2 first Fast and Furious movied and also the Import Tuner vibe from that period. Hence the reason why the car roster of the Underground duology mainly consisted of 🇪🇺 and 🇯🇵 cars. After a 3-year hiatus from 2009 to 2011 (during that period, they released NFS World the 27 July 2010 and closed the 14 July 2015), they came back with NFS The Run which launched in 2011 and it was the last NFS game made by Black Box. In April 2013, EA closed Black Box forever and it's still 1 of their biggest mistakes ever made. Which means the Black Box era goes from 2002 to 2008 and resumed in 2011 after 3 year of hiatus. Saying the Black Box era goes from 2002 to 2011 is also valid. In the case of Ferrari which appeared in NFS Shift 1 as a DLC exclusively for Xbox 360 and NFS Rivals which has a Ferrari F12 in the cover, EA had likely paid a big amount of money to get Ferrari back as well as concluding agreements and specific conditions to honor in their licence deal to please Ferrari and keep the license for a given period. About Toyota, the illegal street racing claim is a massive misinformation. In reality, that's because EA refuses to pay Toyota's license fee and both EA + Toyota didn't find agreements to conclude a license deal. Hence the reason why Toyota/Lexus cars are absent from mainline NFS games since 2015. In the case of NFS Mobile, that's because Tencent can afford the Toyota license to appear in NFS Mobile hence the presence of the Toyota Corolla. Unless EA and Toyota finds agreements to conclude a license deal, Toyota cars will never comeback again in Need For Speed games. It's meant to be an homage to the Classic Era (1994-2002) which is the true roots of Need For Speed games (not the Black Box era from 2003 to 2008) so that's perfectly normal there's no customization parts and no storyline (NFS The Run and NFS Rivals are 2 exceptions which broke the rule). For the rest, you're entirely right.
The supercar era from the mid 2010s was just a throwback , homage to the mid 90s which kick started the NFS franchise and many people consider as the black sheep in 4 entries of NFS just because they really wanted to start put in a clapped out stock Honda Civic Type R where their minds are currently stuck in the import tuner scene EA Blackbox developed NFS The Run and at the same time , the problem is about how you unlock the cars in the game , by complete in multiplayer, challenge series or console exclusivity like the Italian pack dlc available on PS3 and Xbox 360 , but since the online services are dead , these cars are unobtainable unless you mod the game on PC or jailbreak the PS3 , Xbox 360 customization was sort of available in The Run you can chose between bodykits and preset colours and liveries
It's wild that Ferrari was absent throughout the Blackbox era but yet they showed up in The NFS Shift as a console exclusive for the 360 was just painful for us PS3 players And don't worry though If you think Toyota Is being stubborn about collaboration with EA , Lotus couldn't pull through Gran turismo sport and Gran Turismo 7
Yes and No because it's exclusively for Multiplayer. Also, NFS Unbound vol. 8 update isn't the full experience unlike with the NFS games w/ playable cops which does the total opposite. All NFs Hot Pursuit games, NFS High Stakes and NFS Rivals lets you play cops in both Singleplayer and Multiplayer modes with many modularities.
False. Ryan Cooper is only on NFS Pro Street. Except from being featured twice as a cameo to the past (NFS Undercover with the police chatter where Ryan Cooper refuses to removes his helmet and NFS Payback when he's referenced by Aki Kimura), he ever appeared in other NFS games. Also, the Underground duology and the NFS MW 2005/NFS Carbon duology have 2 separate protagonists with no name and different goals to achieve (the UG hero want to be the best and take his revenge against Caleb Reece And the MW/Carbon hero want to get his BMW M3 E46 GTR back from Razor's hands + clean his reputation at Palmont City in order to discover the real culprit of the sabotaged night race that made him flee Palmont City) because they're actually the player behind the screen which means ourselves.

Toyota chose to stay from EA because of lillegal street racing , yet they are in The Crew Motorfest , Forza Motorsport , Gran Turismo , not even sure if they return in NFS Unbound as it is they are more strict about customization like Ferrari
Ferrari having mismatched rims in NFS unbound at launch wasn't the only issue , cars like the Lamborghini Countach 2021 and LaFerrari not having active aeros , cops are more intend to wipe themselves out , Heat did way better the day cycle better earn cash during the day , earn rep during night and unbounds Soundtrack is awful and the amount of bro is used
NFS Payback has the UFO in the middle of the map which a token can be found there
Cross made a cameo in the coviet corrier mission , the Nissan GTR Black Edition 2012 got cut during paybacks development and thus the 2017 Nissan GTR Premium made its début
NFS Heat had cut content like a handful of
Convertibles like the Porsche 718 Spyder 2020 which supposed to be for free and the Bugatti Chiron as a paid dlc , but EA disbanded Ghost just for them to work on Battlefield 2042

7:39 No Limits as well.
What's the point of this video? Is all that information really useless for a reason?
Actually, in lore Ryan Cooper is a player in UG1/2, Most Wanted and carbon
