Just got this bike, I swapped out my mountain bike for this as I am out of shape and the mountain bike was too hard especially as there are a lot of hills near me. This electric bike has changed my life and brought my love of cycling back!
Hi Sophie. I'm pleased to hear this bike has changed your life and brought back your love of cycling! That's what electrice bikes do best. In the colder weather it's always harder to cycle against the wind and rain, but it seems so much easier with an electric boost. Those hills are no longer daunting. Thanks for your comment and safe cycling!!
@Play Google glad to hear it!! Enjoy if you get one although I recommend the apollo metis e as I switched the transport for that, same price and brakes last longer due to larger wheels
@@snarkqueen that's great to hear. Here's some more information that I gave to someone else, hope you find it useful. Happy cycling!: I'm in the north of England, it's very wet up here most of the year. I've had no issues with the electrics or battery, as they are well sealed. Everything on this bike is waterproof, unless you somehow cycle into a swimming pool! Haha! I've cycled in heavy rain and light showers, never been a problem. It's been stood out in the rain too. The tyres are great in the rain, but like any bike, it's worth getting winter tyres. I have a mountain bike with hybrid tyres, yet this bike feels just as grippy on the road. I bought it back in March and have never regretted it. I can get around town without breaking a sweat. I can go uphills much easier, and save the battery when going downhill or on even roads. It's really for going uphills to be honest, as I like to use my legs, otherwise I won't get any exercise. It's also great when you're cycling against the wind. The bike came with a one year warranty, so if you have any issues with the battery or motor you can have it repaired or replaced. Just make sure you buy a very good bike lock, two ideally, as they do attract thieves. Also remove the battery if you're going to be at work all day. I only leave the (lockable) battery in the bike if I'm popping into the shop or doing a short errand. The bike is of no value without the battery. Hope this helps.
Thank you, and you're welcome. I can't ever see myself riding a non-electric bike. I used to think it was a chore to cycle into town before buying this bike. Now I can pop into town, do my shopping, meet a friend and be back homewith ease. Saves a fortune on transport and keeps me fit too.
@@PabloGarcia-hc8xq That's brilliant! She's got the right weather and quiet roads too. I'm sure she'll love the sense of freedom and ease it brings. I'm riding out on mine now. Happy cycling!!
When you first got it, was the battery difficult to remove? Im having difficulty taking the battery out after turning the key as it feels like the battery is glued shut.
Hi. The battery is difficult to remove to begin with as pins connecting it to the battery are new. They do become loose over time, but it’s still not easy to remove. This is probably because the manufacturer wanted to avoid any damage should it not be locked. You could try using a flat head screwdriver to help push it out.
It's very easy to unfold. It has one clip and you pull out the handle and it folds in half. It's very practical. Easily fits into the boot of most cars.
Thank you, glad it helps. I find it great for going uphill and against strong winds. I'd say these are two great reasons to go electric. I am able to focus my energy on riding in a straight line and not tiring or being blown off. I'm in the north of England, it gets very windy up this part of the country!
Hi there, thank you for your question. I paid £15 for it. I bought it on eBay. There are many different designs too. Make sure you also secure it with some cable ties so it never gets stolen.
How do you know when the battery is fully charged? Only the 20% light is on after a 6hour charge and I’m a bit worried that it’s not going to last the whole of my journey
It takes five hours to charge 100%, and lasts me three to four days. I do one to three miles per day. It depends on the incline too. You can get 20 miles out of it on a flat road. How far will you travel and are the roads hilly or flat?
Thanks, and you're welcome. The good thing with this bike is that you still need to pedal, meaning you still get exercise, keep your legs fit and nip around much quicker.
very informative video thanks =) I'm looking at getting one myself but I'm a little worried about the weather resistance. how safe is it in very wet/rainy conditions? would there be any risk of shorting out the motor or battery or any overall damage?

Hi If the battery runs flat, can this bike be cycled normally, or do you feel motor resistance. Also, what are your long term thoughts of the bike and battery longevity please?
Hi, if the battery runs flat you can use it as a regular bike. It has a light frame so it's still easy to get around on. I've never found it a problem, there being no resistance from the motor. I've had the bike since spring 2019 and I still use it most days. The battery is still going strong, as I've not charged it the maximum amount of 500 times. I charge it once per week as that's all I need in terms of usage. The bike has served me well. If stored indoors it should last two to three years, even more. I have no plans to sell mine as yet. I should get another year or two out of it. Expect wear on brakes, tyres, chain, etc., but this goes for all bikes. Invest in two good locks, that’s the best advice I can give you.
Hi, there, I found your video really helpful - Thank you. could you tell me, once you have folded your bike down is there a way to keep it together? For example when it's in the fold position and I lift it then it's a little awkward/ hinged areas moves around. I wondered if there is a latch or anything to lock it in place? Thanks 😊
Hi Katherine and thank you for your reply. I know how you mean about the hinged areas moving when handling the bike. There is no mechanism that comes with the bike, but I find it useful to use large a velcro strap or other type of strap to secure both halves of the frame. You can buy these from bike shops and car stores. Some are elasticated with metal hooks. I hope this helps. Hope you are enjoying your cycling!
Hi Donna, thank you for your message. You've bought it at the right time, as the weather's improving and summer's not too far away. I bought the bag on ebay, and there's lots of other colours and styles available. The straps aren't very good on these bags, so I used some cable ties on each corner to secure it, and prevent it being stolen. I'll add a product description at the end of this message and you can search for some bags on ebay. Be sure to wear a helmet and high-viz top. HAPPY CYCLING! Hi, I got this technical spec. from the bike manuel. The battery has a capacity of 209Wh / 8.7Ah and a range of up to 20miles. The motor is 240 watts and more than adequate.
It basically folds down the middle tube, with the aid of a simple lever. It's really easy to fold so don't expect it to be complicated in any shape or form.
Hi, sure. It weigh 26kg. I've lifted it into the boot a car many times, and I can tell you it weigh 26kg for certain. If it weighed 16kg I could lift it with one arm! They might have had a typo on their website, or maybe the frame is lighter? You should confirm. I don't find the bike heavy, other than the battery and motor. Either weight is fine for an ebike. Hope this helps.
@@gosiaczek1987 Hi, thanks for your question. Yes, always remove the battery if you plan to leave the bike outside for a long time. Make sure you have a good lock if you go inside a shop or leave it for a few minutes. Thieves will steal it in under five minutes. Hope you enjoy your cycling.
How have you secured the seat post? Iv noticed an issue of raising the seat post but it still very easy to twist even with the lock screen as tight as possible
It's done me well. It still works as it should after 15 months of use. I've only replaced the brake pads. The battery and drive motor and all of the components work as they should.
@@hazzardoutdoors You're welcome. I've ridden it off-road on gravel paths and parks as well as loose dirt roads. It has been fine on such terrian, but it's mainly used on roads. It would not be any good on dirt tracks more suited to mountain bikes. If you do want to take it off-road, gravel paths, etc., I recommend fitting off road tyres as the bike comes with standard hybrid road tyres. The off-road tyres are more durable and have a lot of grip. They are readily available from most bike stores.
It doesn't have any suspension but it's comfortable. I don't find it bumpy, though it's not suited for off road use. I only cycle on the roads, the seat is very comfortable so I don't feel any bumps.

Is the second review lacking the folding and removal of battery demo. I am starting to believe it’s hard to do it…
The battery slides out and is easy to remove; weighs about the same as a laptop, fits into a laptop bag no problem.
How about folding it??
It can be folded in less than 30 seconds. I can take it on some trains and Metro trains too. 😊

It's about the same weight as a normal bike, not heavy, but then I'm used to lifting around 26kg. I would try it in store if you can before buying.
