Congratulations on your 17K milestone 👏 👍. As this game failed as a kickstarter I can't see there being enough of a customer base to make it a success at these prices. It may be that there simply isn't enough interest to make it commercially viable.
That's the big question with HeroScape - was the failure a lack of audience, or was it down to the choices made during the crowdfunding? It will be interesting to see how it goes, and I do hope it works out for the fans, but I think it could be a bit of an uphill battle for this one.
I would definitely add some exclusive Heroquest models to the Heroscape presale items, one to each box, maybe with a custom piece of furniture too. Just for the tears.
I don't have a copy of Robo Rally, which is something I've been meaning to remedy for a while, so I do plan to look into the new edition at some point to see if I want to pick it up.

Congratulations! 🥳🎉 I own quite a bit of HeroScape, but I’m going to resist this release. I used to play it with my son, but he is much less interested these days. It’s too much money and too much space for something that will realistically not get played. I still like that it’s back, though, as I think it’s probably the ultimate “playable toys” game. @@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring I've never come in touch with Heroscape, and to be honest, while I do like the idea of a 3D hex game board, to me it looks like toys for 12 year olds. Still, I would give it a shot if it wouln't be priced like a primary game system by Games Workshop, if you know what I mean. As far as I remember there where also Roman Legionaires and US Marines in the past which I found to be more interested in, so maybe if there is something coming which I find to be hilarious to fight against aliens and robots and I cannot resist, like Samurai or napoleonic troops with a field cannon or WWI Germans or french medieval knights .... maybe then ... 😄
Yes, the game sort of smashes together all sorts of things, so you get marines, Men in Black style agents, aliens, dinosaurs, robots, and so on. The promo character, Sergeant Drake is a recurring marine character from the original master set from 20 years ago, where he appeared with his squad.

The game doesn't really interest me, but the 'almost Heroquest' dice can be useful and I wouldn't mind getting some of the terrain tiles if I could find them cheap. I'm unlikely to buy new sets.
The game is interesting but like you said " I never connected with it" There were a few downfalls with the original and probably that is why I never connected with. I think it is a bit pricey but I like the idea of getting an anniversary version
Its nice to see it coming back for the fans, but it's a different world now, and something that used to be a game you could pick up cheap in department stores is now $225. It will be interesting to see if they can develop the brand in current day.
I came to know heroscape after i played Mágic: Arena of the Planeswalkers. I really liked the System and minis. I think that the poorly designed expansions (it got one real expansión and a second "core set"), were the downfall of the line. Later i watchted some videos of true heroscape, and didnt liked the System. In AotP, the Planeswalkers worked like true leaders, boosting its smaller creatures (squads and individuals), but didnt saw that on heroscape. Though i loved the minis, specially the Roman ones.
I actually did a video review of Arena of the Planeswalkers last year where I suggested it was better than HeroScape. The addition of the spells and Planeswalkers added a lot to the system, and I think it was a better idea to include the card boards and then just use plastic tiles for raised areas.
Please note, the video states the jungle terrain pack contains nine underbrush pieces, but it only contains six. Sorry for the error.

The terrain tiles are pretty cool, but it does take quite a while (and a lot of tiles) to make good battlefields.

I don't expect so, as Renegade are making the game, not Avalon Hill. You can beat people will make unofficial rules for it, though.
