The parlour was the room where my great grandparents used to entertain the suitors looking to marry their children. My great Auntie Bessie was the youngest of their 13 children, and said that by the time it was her turn to bring home a prospective husband to be grilled by her parents in the parlour, the good sofa was pretty much worn out.
I honestly wish my ancesters had found some way to stay in Ireland, sadly the potato famine forced them here to Australia, I absolutely love everything about Ireland its in my blood. ......anyway......i think you two are the best!!

Seeing Runi laying by the fireplace makes me jealous. As we are well into the Fall season, I’m looking forward to watching Christmas movies in my Decorated living room. All I’m missing is a fireplace to toast nearby. Can’t wait to see the room Claire is working on now and the kitchen finished. 🇨🇦❤️🥰
Christmas decoration ordered - What a great idea! The cupboards are looking grand, and I can't wait to see the end finish chosen for the timber!I It must be nicer to have either stand alone or smaller more contained projects like the parlour to focus on rather than the much larger scale (area-wise) stuff you've finally broken the back on.
Thrilled with the kitchen, Rob did a fabulous job! And yes you are right Phelim it is nice to focus on smaller projects, although quite often it means we work alone, no partner to have the banter 😜
Loving the xmas baubles!, they look great - fantastic idea. Clare what ratio mix do you use for your mortar ? Funny you mention having trades on site taking up time. You assume you would be able to get more done than normal, but in reality on these types of jobs, they always need looking after, decisions to be made, tea to be brewed - all takes time!.
I remember finding a black shiny spider in my hall way, at first i thought it was a toy spider, but when it moved, it freaked me out as it was a spider ive never seen before, i got the broom hoping it would climb onto it so i could put out side, but when i got outside the spider had gone, to this day ive not seen another one like it, made me think it could of been some one exotic pet
Kitchen lookin grand , love the pointing in the parlour . We don't really get excited for Christmas here in Ukraine...the ruskies like to throw extra missiles and drones at us at that time
With everything coming together plz put tile ur floors they look bad. I dont mean to seem mean but look at the videos where he is putting the doors on the cabinets they look bad..😊
It’s a renovation project, we are planning ours and the floors are one of the last bits on the list. Why put a floor down and cover it in mess ,do it last.
The floors were an experiment and without a doubt some areas of the house look better than others. It is not a priority at the moment and has cost us nothing but our own labour. Over time we will decide if this is how we want it to look or not.🙂

What a great story! I must tell that to our kids, to be sure that happened in this house as there was a very large family living here previously 🙂

The spider sounds like a false widow it’s bite is like a wasp sting and will be sore for about 24 hours. So not what you would want but not dangerous
