The good ending contradicts any idea of a sequel. I read the book and was blown away by how good it is. How Artyom awoke to the realisation and was in tears because of his regret.
How to make a "good" ending: 1. in the stage "Spartan Base" (old church), you must listening to Khan advice until you got the point ( you know, like a sounds of water flush ) 2. in the next stage ( in a "stove" train ), artyom will pass out and he will dream about Hunter and The Dark One, choose The Dark One path! 3. And last step, play it like this video advice. and then, you will make a "good" ending. Note: how my english? sorry if i had bad english
Your english is good enough to understand. Altough, your statement about getting the good ending is very, very unclear and untrue. There are MANY more opportunities and choices that decide your ending. Long story short; *be a good guy*, don't take from others and give to the poor, don't kill humans but knock them out, explore as much as you can and receive positive moral points. In every hallucination, choose the path to the Dark Ones (as you have mentioned), there are more of those in the entire game. In the end, don't shoot the Dark One and instead, aim at the missile launcher.
Good English, but there’s more to it than that. You need those good points from that section but you also have to interact with literally everybody in the stations or hear some stories in order to get more of these Good Points.
imho this is actually the better one. These monsters attacked an innocent metrostation and then want peace? if I had the possibility i'd have driven with these freakn tanks and blew them up like that.

But to your comment - the Dark Ones have nothing to do with the Nosalis, Librarians or Demons or any of these mutated creatures. They are the result of 3rd WW that ended up destroying Earth and turning animals into wild twisted creatures. The Dark Ones can be considered to be an Alien, for what we know at least. It's not like they command the mutated creatures, so the Dark Ones NEVER actually killed any human, you can also see it in the second Metro game, Last Light, where the Dark One actually saves a kid and if you get the good ending, they will prevent human race from fighting themselves. lol sry if you already knew this and I misunderstood you but this was something I couldn't help myself miss out on.

They actually want piece, but humans are shooting them on sight, also they tried to communicate with humans, but those humans died expect Artyom, only Artyom could communicate with them and the attemp to communicate with the humans was seen as hostility cuz It actually killed the people and humans didnt even know they want piece or if they are intelligent so why would they not be hostile, so the dark ones needed to be hostile too for their own good. Also there are ghosts in the game and the dark ones doesnt want death, they cry for the ghosts or what the fck.
In the book there were no visions of this like there are in the game, in the book they seem to genuinely want to help but are mowed down by machine guns whenever they try to communicate. Artyom is the only one who can listen to the dark ones.
Y'know, it occurs to me that what the Dark Ones are doing here isn't helping them much. I mean the targeter's already set up, passively-agressively urging Artyom over the edge isn't going to do a damn thing to stop the missiles.
I'm rewatching the Metro games cuze of Exodus and I really love this incredible atmosphere this series has, I've never been so immersed in a game like I was in Metro

I wish the book had this ending. I get the tragic element of killing the dark ones when they only wanted peace, but I hate that the author didn't make this ending the true one. I think this ending has a more interesting potential.

Actually my friend you are wrong , Metro 2035 is a direct sequel to the Metro 2033 . Metro 2034 takes place after the events of 2033 book and has different characters in its story , you only learn that Arytom returned to his home station , other than that it takes places in different stations of Moskov .

I saw the things that indicate good deeds and because I played Last Light before this, I wanted to see if there was a good ending FML I didn't know that the knife knocks out people until I was writing another comment

I made this video a long time ago and I'm not entirely sure what specs I had at this time. Must have been either 2x ATI Radeon HD 5870s or 2x AMD Radeon HD 6950s with an AMD Phenom II X4. Currently I've an AMD Radeon HD 7970 with an Intel Xeon e3-1230 in my rig.
Also, in the book, when Artyom gets back to VDNKh after going to Polis, Sukhoi tells Artyom that the Dark Ones are attacking VDNKh and killing their men when VDNKh only could kill one.

In Metro Last Light after the baby dark one makes u faint, it gives you its perspective of the bad ending and before the missiles fell over their nest, you actually see human books laying in piles. Nigga i felt even worse knowing they enjoyed our books.
They did save him from the great door and showed him visions of pre-nuked Russia. And in all honestly, you did just set up a laser guidance system for targeting missiles, i think the time for diplomacy is over.
i had both endings on metro 2033 and Metro Last Light this also makes it possible for the creators to make 2035 and so on the games outcome depends on moral decisions you make down the line.
They tried to stop Artyom when they realized he was trying to blow them up. Plus they werent hostile it was the Humans that was hostile. they wanted to help but since they "seemed" hostile all because they're mutant. like what khan said "Try to get a better understanding of things before you make your judgement"

I don't think so. If they truly wanted to, they wouldn't have been trying to scare the crap out of you with cryptic warnings. Now, I realize that may be the only way they can communicate, but they -did- just try to kill him, regardless of whether he was trying to nuke them. They seemed hostile from the start.
You can get it just by NOT being bad rather than going out of your way being good. You just need to hear all the optional conversations and avoid being bad.

Damn shame this is non-canon, but still gotta love that cute Dark One child in Last Light. Fucking love that thing he's so adorable! Although funny thing is I saw Khan as the most stupid character in Last Light when in the first game he had to be one of the smartest.
The "good" ending isn't canon but it served as a good finale should no further metro games get made. So basically if Last Light never got made, at least we had some sort of good ending for the story.
Forall who are wondering, this ending isn't achievable anymore. Metro Last Light was going to follow the books where Artyom did launch the rockets so they updated the game so you have to do that. Kind of sucks :(
It follows the ending of the book, but not completely, at the end of the metro 2033 book, artyom throws the missiles, realizes that he did was wrong and kills himself by removing his gas mask.

Even the novel? Because according to the novel, Artyom regrets killing the Dark Ones. They only wanted to communicate with humans, but instead of talking to them we started killing them. Even though they just wanted to help. Therefore the ''Good Ending'' is the preferable ending since it happened in the novel.
sadly, it doesn't. They choose the normal ending, as it's cannon in the book. Oh well. Still this ending gives me a good sense of doing the right thing.

I can see you point. However, "good" ending's name does not come from the outcome, but from actions you need to take in order for it to be possible. If you want a "good" ending you have to do good things, like giving bullets to beggars and not being a douche. Opposed to "bad" ending, you don't have to do all of it. Anyway, imo "good" ending should be called "happy ending".
Because the dark ones are trying to help out. In facti f you see the good ending to Last Light then you will see what I mean. Heck one of them actually pulls you to safety in 2033 if I remember correctly. That and you saved them rather than killing them.
Seeing the classic metro and comparing it to redux this is a lot better it kinda feels like it sown thing with they used the same textures and lighting because last light and especially exodous feels way to like idk coprate or company idk like I don't want to sound whiney but idk.
I dont see the point of having this good/bad ending. The "Bad" ending is the same ending like in the book and so in my view the REAL ending. PLUS the story of "Metro Last Light" builds on this ending. And none of the decisions you do in the game (who do you kill and who do you spare?) have any connections to the end scene, so this whole carma thing feels artificial.

I just beat Metro 2033 and it just immediately went from 11:00 to 11:53 for me, except I didn't get any dialogue and the missiles started flying as soon as I got back into the "real world".
i shot down the dark one in the halucination but in real life he doesnt was there... And I think the other ending is the good ending for me. The Rockets killed these monsters, and the people can rebuild Moscow.
In russian version, there is that phrase in the end: "And maybe, we will deserve the light, at the end of that tunnel"

If you leave the laser alone then the missiles will fire. Also, you can walk up to the laser designator and push it over the edge.

Wow i got all the bad endings for all three games 😂
Yet Last Light still plays with the “bad ending” regardless of what you chose in 2033. So it doesn’t matter
i got this ending in my first try im serious my first gameplay and i got good ending
You have to listen to conversations too to get the good ending
You get an achievement for each of the two endings.

Although funny thing is I saw Khan as the most stupid character in Last Light when in the first game he had to be one of the smartest.
The "good" ending isn't canon but it served as a good finale should no further metro games get made. So basically if Last Light never got made, at least we had some sort of good ending for the story.
Forall who are wondering, this ending isn't achievable anymore. Metro Last Light was going to follow the books where Artyom did launch the rockets so they updated the game so you have to do that. Kind of sucks :(

It follows the ending of the book, but not completely, at the end of the metro 2033 book, artyom throws the missiles, realizes that he did was wrong and kills himself by removing his gas mask.

Even the novel? Because according to the novel, Artyom regrets killing the Dark Ones. They only wanted to communicate with humans, but instead of talking to them we started killing them. Even though they just wanted to help. Therefore the ''Good Ending'' is the preferable ending since it happened in the novel.
i feel no remorse whatsoever for killing the dark ones. if you want peace so badly why be all cryptic about it?
but how does this ending link up to metro: last light story?
sadly, it doesn't. They choose the normal ending, as it's cannon in the book. Oh well. Still this ending gives me a good sense of doing the right thing.

this could be the "happy" ending... but not the true one. the true ending is killing the Dark Ones because in Metro Last Light it is showed that Artyom killed them and the Story tell us that.
sorry if it's too obvious I only played this demo but how did the dark ones know about the plan to blow up the botanical gardens?

soo if you did the good ending their is practically no making of metro last light but since the majority killed the dark ones they made last light

Either way in the next game the Dark ones were still killed. But some were hiding in D6
There is no "bad" or "good" ending... It's up to you to decide, if you want destroy mutants or not, everybody can choose what they think is right.
I can see you point. However, "good" ending's name does not come from the outcome, but from actions you need to take in order for it to be possible. If you want a "good" ending you have to do good things, like giving bullets to beggars and not being a douche.
Opposed to "bad" ending, you don't have to do all of it.
Anyway, imo "good" ending should be called "happy ending".

This ending depends on the way u see it if ur like artyom ore a dark one this is a good ending if u r a ranger not so good
Because the dark ones are trying to help out. In facti f you see the good ending to Last Light then you will see what I mean. Heck one of them actually pulls you to safety in 2033 if I remember correctly. That and you saved them rather than killing them.
Seeing the classic metro and comparing it to redux this is a lot better it kinda feels like it sown thing with they used the same textures and lighting because last light and especially exodous feels way to like idk coprate or company idk like I don't want to sound whiney but idk.
idk why but I prefer this look over redux. I just like the old feeling of games

In my first game I got the bad ending like everyone
I dont see the point of having this good/bad ending. The "Bad" ending is the same ending like in the book and so in my view the REAL ending. PLUS the story of "Metro Last Light" builds on this ending. And none of the decisions you do in the game (who do you kill and who do you spare?) have any connections to the end scene, so this whole carma thing feels artificial.
OG has better grahpics

I didn't know about the good ending in Metro 2033 (guess I need to replay for a third time). Currently working on good ending for Metro last light.
I just beat Metro 2033 and it just immediately went from 11:00 to 11:53 for me, except I didn't get any dialogue and the missiles started flying as soon as I got back into the "real world".
Cuz you got the bad ending, but I am sure you must've noticed a dead dark one on the top of the tower.
i shot down the dark one in the halucination but in real life he doesnt was there...
And I think the other ending is the good ending for me. The Rockets killed these monsters, and the people can rebuild Moscow.
