    Thanks for the lovely video! The fishball noodle stall owner is my grandfather. He’s in his mid 80’s.
    Before the stall moved to this hawker centre in 1975, they were at a roadside stall near the old Siglap market.
    The lady owners of You & Me Coffee are really inspiring too! Their coffee is superb. We are lucky to have them as our next door neighbours 😂☕️

      Hello Basil 👋
      Thanks for dropping by. Your Grandfather is truly inspiring ☺️.. can see loved my his loyal customers too. It’s a good idea to do a little write up of his memories and document it. If he has any photos.. even more valuable 😃 coz it’s something for our next generation to know of and appreciate what their forefathers have done for them

    Laws will only change if people contact their government representatives. Reach out to the ministers like Edwin Tong. Maybe suggest something like a student co-op program so students appreciate the food culture in Singapore. Not sure who to reach out to for foreign helpers, but I'm sure there is someone who could look into it. Great video!

      General feel is that we are better at sitting back and collecting rent rather than really trying methods to retain our hawker culture.. I’ve again and again shown in many episodes that nobody wish to carry on the torch.. so sad.. Singapore 1st world economy kinda dusted out hawker heritage. Thanks for your contribution 😊

    The moment you get foreign workers to cook…it will be the end of hawker food. The price will go up and quality goes down. The foodcourt food is expensive and not authentic Singapore food.

    Without wishing to offend anyone, Piggy, did you set out to create the hawker-centre porn genre or it was just something that happened as a side hussle?
    Oh, and have you tried this new Great Nanyang Heritage Cafe that's seems to be the new must be seen at place? It is just around the corner from where I will be staying and, as strong as my affection for old school hawker centres is, I do have try to keep up with what is of the now in Lion Town

    • @Piggypuggy
      @Piggypuggy  Год назад +1

      Haha Dr. M.. interpretation of sensuality is the affection of one’s imaginative mind 😉
      And what coincidence.. I just been to the cafe on its opening week.. it’s the side hustle of this Malaysian restaurenprenuer.. otherwise famous for his Andrew lobster 🦞 that I featured sometime back. Hailing from Penang.. it would be a worthy time spent at his cafe. ☕️

      There was a coffee shop previously at Block 14 near the market (double-storey shophouse row that is demolished) that had great bak chor/fishball noodles. Ah... the memories.
