Hello again. I certainly have never heard of this place, especially with a name like "Beauty World" to be associated with food. Never expect this place to have so much variety, impressive. It is really amazing to be able to get so many different kinds of fresh noodles in hawker centers. I take noodles over rice anytime. Interesting, white and black CKT, first ever, just like black and white chai tau kueh. Whoa, never heard of fried porridge and that hawker's wok fire is insane! Love that chendol, my all time favorite!🤣 That curry chicken noodle looks delicious...Look at all the yummy kuehs, pastries and tarts, yes, this will be a go-to place to buy CNY goodies. Hello Liz 😃 how have you been? Yes.. this place was also very remote to me to me. It has a very old school shopping mall feel. I lived near Tiong Bahru area as a kid and never had any need to go that far out to bukit timah unless I needed to get to the causeway at woodlands. I loved how remote most places were most places were back then.. can still smell the farmlands.. the animal waste and burning rubbish 😂 now.. sadly it's all a controlled piece of concrete jungle. Haha.. enough of me reminiscing the past.. I hope you make a mean Chendol for friends and family over there 😋 not sure if you can get Atap Chee though..

I've watched Kevin Kok before too.. is he the one who brings his daughter to sample all the food? Handphone.. but i often risk getting whacked by stall owners for getting toooooo close 😅.. so sometimes bigger zoom lens
What a quaint little place! And it sure looks like a normal hawker center if you didn't know its on the 4th floor of a building. The sky garden looks like a nice place to relax and that array of plants.. some food operators sure have green fingers too!
Visited this place for the first time after your video, went on 2nd May mid afternoon, was rather quite and thankfully found the fried porridge, my wife loves it and will eat this any day! Also realise there are few Beer Counters, seems the night there will be rather happening....laid back atmosphere for beers and fried snacks. Quite a few authentic Korean restaurants there. After that went to Clementi (also after your review) but did not manage to get the curry puff (my kind of snack). Saw the Chinese speaking aunty shop but was too full to indulge in anymore food. Thank you for your videos and as like you, more please... never enough lol
Beauty World is the strangest mall. The building is horrific, and inside looks like it's all just plastic crap but if you need something specific you'll find exactly what you want. Jade Green Tara pendant? Check? Furry purse? Dancing shoes? Knapsack? Iced Kachung? Fuzzy hair clip? Housewares? Yup. It's this weird magical place and worth the visit.

Hello 👋 Hehe.. ok I’ll try to.. are you mainly interested to know if it’s Halal? Coz most aren’t unless the stall indicates that it’s Halal certified. Most of the other hawkers would use lard which is pork. So in Singapore.. certain Hawkers have a high concentration of halal stalls like in Ayer Rajah.. Adam road hawker. Geylang Serai.. Eunos.
Atap Chee are Palm seeds I think it comes from the Nigra palm, I love the kueh stall at the end, they are always my last stop for Kueh Dada, peanut cookies, pineapple tarts and being a big kid Gem biscuits still love eating the icing off the top

CKT people are an intense breed of hawkers.. don't muck around and waste their time.. maybe they need that firery intensity to produce a mean plate of smokin Chaaarrrr KT to achieve that WOK HEI.. or maybe all those years of Kiang Kiang Kiang gave them hbp.. 😅

Hahaha.. that's why I shifted out from bukit timah to a more central region.. I found myself detached from everywhere even when I lived there. Getting to work was also a pain in the mornings
Wow.. can you let us know what it was like?? 1970s bukit timah was still soooooooo remote for me. I remembered cars didn't have ac. Buses took forever to reach there.. when it rains.. the whole bukit timah would flood 😂.. so as a kid.. I have never ventured that far out alone. but recalled I loved taking long bus rides as a teenager as the night breeze back then was just so cooling and therapeutic 😌. I love to hear and reminiscent the old days
@@Piggypuggy It was all very "ulu". Tengah felt very remote and journeys from there to the city could take over an hour. Beautyworld was a collection of stalls covered by a huge corrugated tin roof and was anything but beautiful! Bukit Timah hill was bare of vegetation and really stood out, and the Bukit Timah road flooded regularly. There was a small village close to RAF Tengah called Bulim which has now disappeared, Most of the traffic on Chua Chu Kang Rd was funeral processions to the cemetaries or vehicles going to and from RAF Tengah, most people used pick-up taxis to get to Bukit Panjang where buses were available. It was a brilliant place to be a child!

I had to frequently travel between Kranji and Lim Chu Kang where there was another hawker centre there.. all I recall was Malay cemeteries and narrow that narrow road with dim distant Amber lights.. and occasionally some Chinese hell notes on the floor. Hahaha.. I'm sure you can relate to that too.. there weren't any expressways back then.. bulim.. was there a mosque there?

As always, trust your doctor's advice and not low life internet types like me, but going for those green leafy vegetables has many joys!

The mutton soup is the best but can only eat once in a while because of its price. You didnt cover the Top one noodle, the first stall. But anyway it doesn't need any advertisement already very popular. The only thing missing in beauty world is good bak chor mee like those in the east side of SG but its ok.
Yeah.. TOP ONE was having a rest day when I was there.. wasted.. but sometimes popular stalls can be hard to capture as spaces are tight and not when they’re operating at maximum capacity 😅 as for the Bak Chor Mee.. that’s the beauty.. every hawker has some super special items that will make us hunt for it. I actually googled the hawker before I go.. see what photos did netizens post. So I saw that curry noodles and looks good. Sio Bak not thick enough though.. 😅
this hawker centre has great food too bad the place is infested with pigeons. once a pigeon pooped on my backpack. it's a real turn off to have pigeons walking and flying all over the place.
Is that right? I didn't see any pigeons that day.. I only noticed that many of our govt run hawkers these days have bird nettings all around the hawker perimeters. I think it works to some extent. But not perfect either 😅
@@Piggypuggy hmm maybe the situation is better like you said with the netting now or all the birds starved to death during covid as no dine in was allowed. it was really bad couple of years back, there was no net and the birds were all over the place

Went there recently and ordered the Char Kway Tiao. $4, tiny portion, auntie attitude damn bad. Long wait and the taste was just average.
Maybe they monopolized the CKT there..
Should try the first stall the top one noodle. Not cover in this video clip. It looks simple but its reasonable standard.

The mutton soup is the best but can only eat once in a while because of its price. You didnt cover the Top one noodle, the first stall. But anyway it doesn't need any advertisement already very popular. The only thing missing in beauty world is good bak chor mee like those in the east side of SG but its ok.
Yeah.. TOP ONE was having a rest day when I was there.. wasted.. but sometimes popular stalls can be hard to capture as spaces are tight and not when they’re operating at maximum capacity 😅 as for the Bak Chor Mee.. that’s the beauty.. every hawker has some super special items that will make us hunt for it. this hawker centre has great food too bad the place is infested with pigeons. once a pigeon pooped on my backpack. it's a real turn off to have pigeons walking and flying all over the place.
Is that right? I didn't see any pigeons that day.. I only noticed that many of our govt run hawkers these days have bird nettings all around the hawker perimeters. I think it works to some extent. But not perfect either 😅
@@Piggypuggy hmm maybe the situation is better like you said with the netting now or all the birds starved to death during covid as no dine in was allowed. it was really bad couple of years back, there was no net and the birds were all over the place
