Does anyone know roughly what time of day they set up? I'm guessing they're ready by the noon/lunch hour. Even then, the sheer work ethic necessary to run a traditional oden stall just amazes me. They work long past dusk, then they have to pack it in (and although it's not shown here, we see how long it takes to set up), then they have to wash everything when they get back "home". I have always been impressed by Japanese cuisine, the Japanese work ethic, and what (little) I know of Japanese tradition. God bless them all!
@@TheVetusMores There's a different vid where the yatai owner talks about packing up the food stand round 03.30. Sometimes so late that, rather than heading home, he went to the morning market first to buy stuff for next night. Which he then had to take care off once he got home. So, yeah, that meant not getting to bed until 7-8 in the morning.
In Fukuoka they have to be moved daily, to not disrupt traffic/pedestrians during the day! So the owners have to set them up and disassemble them every day!
Good stuff but from watching a few of these it is obvious that there is no issue with wind where these people set up. No way would these set ups stay up in a decent brisk wind. I am wondering if they pay for the power that they connect to ?? What about the fresh water supply they all seem to connect to?? What about the sullage/waste water connections they connect to on the streets.?? Is it free for them or do they pay a fee. It seems that the infrastructure is provided by the government but does it cost them or is it free. I am simply curious and if anyone knows I would be interested to hear.
「Cokinchan 」is the most popular yatai restaurant in the fukuokacity area. This yatai favorite menu 「Yaki rahmen noodle」 resemble is spaghetti! I am studying English thanks
sorry but the description annoys me a bit. Saying it's cause she's a woman has nothing to do with the work any of those people in the video do. She is probably the chef of the team and also looks as if she has way more experience than the others, also due to the age difference. Men and women can do the exact same thing when it comes to cooking or leading when it's stuff like this.
she works these guys like line cooks. the person I seen last night there seem 2 be only 2 people with a larger set up puton a show while setting up as fast as possible when he cooked that was a show too. what they do is hard. I was taught just flipping and egg in a cause pan
i don’t understand why you have to give back a gift after receiving one, and at a certain percentage of gifts value. i love giving gifts but i never expect anything back. makes me not want to receive a gift and be burdened with reciprocity.
I believe it's "Kamaboko" - steamed seasoned fish paste in slices! You can check out how it's made in this video (the pink color of the fish paste is a bit lighter): ruclips.net/video/ZnHpIA14ECA/видео.html
@@Japanesefoodcraftsman how many days a week do they set up and break down this operation? It’s hard to imagine how she makes any money with the large team she had. Are they family members. The man in yellow T-shirt whose chef ....I guess so. They can't do their business in front of the hospital. Because there are plenty of patient entering and leaving out of the clinic. It is corner beside emergency gate that would be fine. OK 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌

This kind of food cart is illegal in the Philippines especially parked on the sidewalks! They will be destroyed on the spot or taken to a dumpsite! That is how bad the city and national government treat their poor countrymen and women!
I just can't believe that this is all done in Japan and by Japanese people too. I guess people who live in developed countries don't do things like this and I thought maybe Japanese people can live in better conditions in terms of quality of life than say third countries.
"Third World" is not a descriptor of economic or societal development. That term originated during the "Cold War" in reference to countries which were not aligned with NATO or the Warsaw Pact.

Its good to see a team putting up the food stall rather than just 1 person.

i acknowledge and respect a woman's innately hard-working character.

I don't think they are allowed to start before the work day is finished. It's a matter of traffic blocking during the peak time.

the ones i've seen work from 18:00 to 1:30am or so, so they should be setting up around 14:00-15:00
I live in Fukuoka, where this small stand opens. They start setting it up around at 4 pm for open evenings.
The traditional Japanese food looks delicious 🤤🤤
This is a cute lil stall~💕
the noodle flip at 25:55 was amazing
17:06, what is that? Tuna? Spam? konjac?
Spam 🤮

Can you show how they pack it all back later?
Ohh yes I want to know that too ….. because very and very hardly jobs 😥😥

I would love to have the Oden at 0:12- Go Ladies!!!!! It all looks delicious!
This is a weird title.. is it unusual for women to wear jeans in Japan?
