I just want Amelia Tyler to read me bedtime stories.
Dude, me too. That narrator voice is so good.
Dark Urge narration style ? 😄😉
does she do audio books or podcasts?? because i need her to
I'd subscribe to BetterSleep for that
I'll PAY for her to narrate my life's summary at my funeral....
As a writer, I can't express how much I appreciate that Neil credits the writers every single time someone talks about how great a character Astarion is. He was absolutely elemental in how great a character Astarion is, but deep down at the core, it always is the writers! It's so right!
I love this too. He appreciates everyone so much, and writers are vital to making the characters what they are
"I wAs RiGhT tHeRe!"
That caught me off guard, lol.
24:28 😂 if someone need
@@Ljeka THANK YOU! haha
That scene in the game is in my top 10. It's so funny
Its hilarious that Amelia has a psychological background and she narrates a DM for murderhobos
That's very brave of Neil to talk about his past that co-insides with Astarion's. Unfortunatly there are too many of us who relate and we praise him for doing a wonderful job portraying Astarion's story.
Do you know what he’s referring to here? I banished astarion at the start after he tries to kill you :’)
FYI it's "coincides".
seems the devs took features from his face and projected them right unto Astarion
love how honest they all were
i love so much how andrew wincott sounds like a bbc radio host when talking but he was able to make raphael's voice so saucy and devilish. he deserved that bafta for sure
Fiiiine I'll play BG3 again
Same. It's Deus Ex syndrome all over again xD
I am 62 years old and have played games for decades, but BG3 tops them all, the actors, the writing and all the work that has been put in to this game. Its just amazing. I wonder if there ever will be a game like this again.
I’m 47 & love BG3. I also play ESO and have met so many great people who are over 40, from all over the world who play 😊
I’m 35, and I feel the same way. It’s out of this world. I am 348 hours in, and dreading the end.
It's an experience that one remembers, and smiles, a decade later. It's truly incredible, and I'm also delighted that there are so many wonderful people behind all those beloved characters.
What about Red Dead Redemption 2?
@@Mushketer300 Sure, it has a fairly good story and is a beautiful game, but a bit short tbh. I enjoyed it while I played it the first time but I have not felt I want to play it again (although I am sure I will play it again sometime in the future). I guess because it doesn't have as many options to play the game differently as BG3 has. And I fell in love with the voice acting. I have never played D&D games before but the story and voice acting (looking att you Karlach and Astarion ;) ) got me to take the time to learn the fighting system. I like the fact that you have time to think before you act so to speak.
I would have died to hear Astarion say the "If my grandmother had wheels, she would have been a bike" line XDDD
Italian Astarion FTW
I was in the front row of the audience for this and the intensity of that 'Four naan' was smoldering.
But was it Disco Naan?
Four? That's insane...
The clips at the beginning are made so much better by imagining the cast writhing in pain watching themselves, lmao
What's amazing is that there's so little difference between the auditions and the performances. They absolutely nailed it from the start.
@@jonathanhibberd9983 Absolutely. It was some brilliant casting.
I don't think so, it's the tape that got them the role in the first place, they must feel proud
They're so amazing that no way they don't like what they did
@@thearcanamodernau8130 They should be proud, but I know a lot of actors and creative in general don’t like watching themselves recorded.
Amelia, release more narrator outtakes, they're so good.
The one about dark eyes and fangs made me feel things 😰
Tracy has a fantastic sense of humour, haven't seen her as much as some of the other cast but she's hilarious 😂
She always goes straight to the point. 😂 Tracy is an underrated gem.
Finally, the sad-little-life-Jane moment is on Bafta's official channel. Can we nominate Neil again just for that impeccable delivery?
No, but honestly it lives rent free in my head now 😭
Yes! The way he tossed the card elevated it to perfection. 😂
I love how these talented actors are getting the same recognition now as screen or theater actors. Voice actors are still actors and the acting in videogames has grown soo much in quality the last couple of decades. With performance capture, it has become even more like theater and screen acting at the same time. It's an industry I love and have a huge respect for.
Shows how much having solid writing and a tad of freedom towards the voice actors budget really can just shift the perception of a gaming experience.
Something tells me Amelia Tyler would love the hell out of Disco Elysium.
Love Ali Plumb's interviews with film actors. Glad he hosted this.
"Bing Bong" nice High Rollers callback.
@caffedinator5584 Not just a callback, apparently if you romance Shadowheart, you can now get a line in the Epilogue where she mentions the two of you meeting an imp named Bing Bong, so Bing Bong is officially canon! 😊
This is 10000% the best thing on the internet to watch today. That was glorious
They were already so good at the characters even during auditions!
Raphael has made an appearance to our party in our Gate D&D Campaign. I did my first playthrough of BG3 with our DM and he loved it so I was so happy to meet Raphael in our campaign. Had to pretend not to know him but always a pleasure or not lol
15:24 was not ready for this to be how I found out that Andrew Wincott also played Haarlep
The clone of Raphael has the same voice actor as Raphael no way????? 😱😱😱
I don't know what's better, how earnestly he tells the story or how Neil nearly has an aneurysm from trying not to laugh.
@@xxzxozkxlxton1344 I admit, it was a "Duh! Of course it's the same actor!" moment for me when the Raphael actor talked about doing the Haarlep part.
I had the privilege of attending the masterclass and meeting each of the actors after the speeches/interviews. The highlight was having a lengthy chat with Andrew Wincott, he is now among my all time favorite actors. I asked him if he would rather do a radio drama with either Vincent Price or Christopher Lee, he said Christopher Lee :3 I can only imagine what a powerhouse of voice performance it would be if Christopher Lee was still among us. Saruman conversing with Raphael...
Cannot wait for Original Sin 3 to have Amelia Tyler as an origin character
that character would have the THICCEST plot armor of all time... the plot IS her armor omg
@@shimomiaizo it has been indicated that her OS2 character Malady would be an origin character in OS3
i just want to say it one more time: it is almost unbelievable how god damn good the voice acting in BG 3 is. props to any one involved.
neil's last line -- that's the astarion we know and love!
amelia's voice is unreal. i wonder if they're talking about astarion in her last line? or someone else?
omg andrew's last line is almost exactly like how it is in the game, sooooo well done. gave me chills
everyone is so freaking amazing!!
They're ALL so wonderful. This cast is just perfect.
I feel really lucky that I had the opportuntiy to have Neil & Amelia as guests on my podcast last year around the time when the full version of the game was out. Knowing they gave so much into these characters with their story, funny moments or even intimate moments, its amazing how much these characters have resonated with everyone who have played the game
Anyone that loves this vid, check out this guys pod it is fire.
onlybears 😭😭😭😭😭
I always took Jaheira for granted in Act 2.......... One day I said "I am going to finish this game" (Mind you at that point I had 1k hours on just act 1 and 2, never daring to finish act 3 or got too overwhelmed) ...... I noticed many revolved around Jaheira, so I permanently used her......... In the end I cried a lot at her story. While others made me emotional too, Jaheira really tugged my heartstring. She became someone very special to me. (I never played BG1 or BG2 or any D&D before) Now my favourite will forever be Jaheira. The way they shifted her attitude from act 2 to act 3 is.... I have no words. She is so sassy and I LOVE her attitude. I wish I had a friend like her in RL. I speak more of Jaheira's character, but it's the voice acting, the way she speaks, talks, evolves as a human and Tracy has become my favourite. I have not known any of this cast. And I love every single one of their work.
Haarlep commentary gave me bellyache. That was too funny. Poor Raphael actor
Yeah I like how you could go to her house and see her family, even see her little hideout, it was cute.
dark urge storyline with her in the party easily made her one of my top 3 companions
She did not survive the fight at the Inn in my run and now I‘m curious. I made it a point to not reload, even when rather important people died. Won‘t be my only run then. 😂
@@vanillerygarden I don't think 1 run of BG3 would justify as having seen the full potential of the game........ and not having Jaheira is also going to be interesting! Don't let it be a regret.
Delighted to find out Amelia's apparently a Discworld fan. Had a soft spot for those books ever since I first stumbled across them, and one of the reasons I love BG3's writing is that it gives me that same feeling-- managing to find humor even when things look darkest.
I love Andrew Wincott’s encouragement to keep being creative. It has been so inspiring to see the incredible creative energy within the Bg3 community. Being able to explore the art and writing of this community has been so uplifting, and even more so because of the supportive feedback and encouragement the community gives each other. It is a truly wholesome experience. I know it has a lasting impact on so many people in finding confidence in themselves as creators while experiencing a sense of belonging.
Those last 5 minutes gave me life! Great people and audience all around
apart from Sam not being able to make it, I wish they had Dev & Jennifer on the panel, those 2 are just wonderful to see interviewed & bring joy to everything they do 💙
I am a huge fan of Andrew Wincott ever since he read the entirety of Memory, Sorrow & Thorn to me in the audiobooks. Very glad to see him here!
32:00 I was anticipating "Well, excuse me, Princess!" Would have been wonderful.
the interviewer is awesome!
I'm so in love with Neils voice😍😍😍
Wow Jaheira did not skip arm day!
The cast is simply amazing. I had the chills watching those audition tapes.
This was amazing and way to short! I could listen to them for hours😍😭
The "group full of WEIRDOs" is absolutely my favourite line in the game haha
Love this cast, but Karlach has my soul! Samantha Béart you own my soul take me to the Nine Hells! TO Averenus we go!!!
That "I have standards..." line will haunt me forever. 😂
Me: *trying to rizz up Astarion*
Astarion: It's not you, it's me... you see, I have standards...
Me: 😲
19-year-old son: Holy 💩, Dad... are you OK?
Me: I... I'm gonna need a moment.... 🥺
i love ali plumb. i love this cast. so this masterclass is an absolute TREAT.
Tracy Wiles is amaizing❤
Since BG3 I've become such a huge fan of boys for their insanely amazing passionate voice and acting skills. They made the game... But... I've been playing Divinity 1,2.... and I can tell... oh my Lord... Please people... please... I'm begging y'all to just throw all flowers and all love to Tracy Wiles and Amelia Tyler. God, those ladies have been MVP carries of Larion forever. I am legit praying for those two for their insane talents, passion, and love for what Larian Studio does. . Big massive thank you to Tracy and Amelia for being awesome at what they do. ( P.S. The rest of the BG# cast who is not present in this video and even other voice actors like Emperor n basic TAV voice actors also deserve big applause)
it was crazy how often I felt like talking to a real human instead of an NPC, kinda shocking really and this is for me right now the best type of immersive story on the market
I love raphaels actor becuase its not fotwn you see someone like him so enthusiastic about gaming. Classical theatre older generation usually dont compliment gaming. Its very refreshing to see him have such respect and love for the genre.
Amazing cast and dynamic. The host was such a delight too !
I loved it, thank you very much for uploading it. I love them all but Neil is still my favourite, when he turns into Astarion it's wonderful.
Thank you for sharing and uploading for us all ❤.
This was great, thank you!
I've only discovered this game recently and only had about 30 hours it, but I'm having a blast. I just love all the voices, and seeing this video warmed my heart so much. Kudos to all the voice actors/actresses who made this game a masterpiece.
After spending so many hours in the game what I treat to see some of the folks behind the characters! What a shame Karlach's actress couldn't join. Quite the voice and character, but really everyone in this game shines :)
dang.. i didn't plan to watch all of this but it was just so much fun. and now here i am...
The game at the end was mind breaking 🤯 Bravo to the BG3 cast and thank you Ali Plumb for being a gracious moderator ❤
What a treat this was! Massive respect to the wonderful cast. ❤ I could listen to them for ages. Amelia's growl at the end was so hardcore. 😂
So cool to learn about how everyone gets into their characters!
Haha!!😂😂 Those lines readings at the end were the best!!
I love these guys...they do great work.
They're all such precious gems. I've never been this grateful to a cast, in any art form, for their work before. (The rest of the BG3 cast included as well, obviously).
What an amazing cast of people ... I'm still playing BG3 almost a year after release. Truly a Masterpiece of a game.
I was so hoping that Raphael and Haarlep were going to be more throughout the game. The game is absolutely addicting, I want it to never end. Such a rare treat to have so many great people come together to create a rare piece of art that will more than likely, never be reproduced again.
I love these guys so much
👏 love everyone’s work👏 also ❤️ Dave’s Goonies & Sam’s NIN shirts
So I love how Amelia Tyler (and most likely the rest of the cast) actually knows the difference between video game genre's! Yes it's a small little quip but if I said "FPS" or "JPG" or "RPG" to my adult colleagues they would look at me like I'm crazy! Just goes to show that the BG3 cast really respect the gamer and the character they portray.
Astarion is a brilliant character and such a good voice actor!
Amelia Tyler is 🔥
Neil is just a gem of a human omg
I love Tracy's dress. 😍
ahh how i wish she read the skyrim line in her BG3 narrator voice. i think she did but it wasn't as calm and "dark" as she does in the game
I love all the people apart of this game. It was a beautiful story. I wish to get a print of my character Ramir with Astarion SIGNED. Ahhh that'd be sickening.
(but expertly moderated) 😭
I’d love an entire show about them acting random lines 😂❤
he's such a precious interviewer
What i like about it is also how the game made the characters look like the voice actors playing them you can clearly see them shine in the game characters
I need to finish this game. 3 of the cast will be at NYCC!
HE SOUNDS LIKE RAPHAEL ALL THE TIME?!?!?!?
I can't remember ever giving a shit about people producing or acting in a game before but I'm fanboying over everyone in this game.
Ameila Tyler pls narrate my life, thank you!
They are SO funny. I love them
Glad larian putting efforts to cast actors to voice the characters unlike some japanese companies
It's not the same, but when I'm on a customer service call, I find I move my whole body while speaking. I feel it allows you to come across as 'human'.
The voice acting was really what made this game. Other game designers should take note.
now I wish that growl was somewhere in the game as an easter egg xD
I love all of this but I especially love that Neil/Astarion is a brummie!
even if they are going to create mods I dont think that they will be able to really use AI for new voice lines. it will never capture the same vibe I am sure.
9:26 great point. A great example of this is Toby Longworth's reading of the Horus Heresy.
Omg Ali Plum!!
I am hoping they are SO good that we get to go into Avernus as a DLC and do some things after to get really at the heart of things in their story...
There will be no dlc, sadly, according to larian :(
Please stop! My face hurts from laughing! 🤣🤣🤣
Somebody needs to record Amelia Tyler growling and put it in a video game.
i literally dream that im in Baldur's gate almost every night lmao
Neil's shirt looks fire on him
Everyone to Amelia: do the roar
Astarion is absolutely brilliant!))
I need someone to animate Halsin in the Great British Bake Off!!!!!!!!!!
make an animated series with these characters / actors to continue on from bg3
Dude, it's been a year and I still haven't finished my first play through, help.
