This is my first test of a SuperOcean Heritage II on the channel. Overall, I'm pleased, and I feel that this is a better ambassador for the brand than the somewhat anodyne Navitimer 8s. Best, Tim
I got this in blue 42mm on mesh. Keeps perfect time, looks amazing in all lighting conditions, draws stares from everyone including females. The fit is perfect on my 6.75" / 17cm wrist. I think this will be my last watch for at least a decade, can't remember a watch that just felt so PERFECT from the moment i first put it on wrist. Iv'e owned many many watches and there is always a downside- Too big, too small, top heavy, too much glare, too busy, too simple etc... This made me stop the search for the perfect watch because that's what it is.
I must agree with you. This watch is always selected as a favorite by those that see my humble collection. It always beats my Rolex Sub, Doxa, Enicar. Just beautiful
@@CraigslistUser310 It fits pretty good under a dress shirt cuff due to the domed surface and the lack of pertruding bracelet end links. That's unless the cuff is one of those super tight slim ones.
I had to get one after seeing this and other reviews. No buyers remorse here, it is simply a beautiful piece. Since I'm a desk diver this watch fits me perfectly since it doesn't overdo the diver characteristics and can be worn for almost all occasions as far as I'm concerned. I love this watch and the blue is stunning.
Brought this as my first diver, was tossing up between this and the BlackBay. After wearing it for 2 months, I'm soo happy that I didnt get the BB. This watch is a cut above the Tudor in finishing and comfort, its soo satisfying that I barely think of getting the yatch master or submariner anymore.
One of the most beautiful watches Breitling ever made. I've already looked for the older Heritage because of the lower price and the more affordable to service ETA movement but the slightly redesigned version also looks very sharp and sexy. It's even more true to the original. So... I have to decide 🤔
Hey, now that you got it what do you think of it? whats the size and color? I just got mine in blue 42mm on mesh, keeps perfect time, can't stop looking at it! i think this is my last watch for at least a decade, it's just perfect! I wear it daily at the office, and my chronomat evo is now my secondary choice.
Beautiful watch, my favourite is on the rubber strap with the premium clasp, only thing they can fix a bit is the lume and thickness, and it would be perfect 👍
The tudor bb 58 is the holy grail of their line. Its a stunning watch that can take a beating but I actually bought the the breitling superocean heritage 42 blue dial because it just looks stunning with a tudor movement, so your getting the best of both worlds. I also got a 15 percent discount!
Bought a gift for myself: UB2010161C1A1 Superocean Heritage II in deep blue and 18k rose gold on milanese bracelet. Very beautiful. Now on the hunt for a Omega SMP 300 Black face and aftermarket mesh bracelet.
I am indifferent about the all polished case. Too blingy and scratch magnet. Otherwise, the watch is badass. I would get this on the blue mesh rubber strap and pushbutton folding clasp. Rubber is my preference on this watch, plus it tones the watch down for a more sporty look.
The thing that confuses me about this watch is that everyone says its "big" at 42 and yet, aside from the Submariner or the Tudor BB 58, I haven't really come across any other dive watches that are smaller. The full sized Tudor BB actually wore much larger than this on my wrist even though it's listed at 41mm. If this is "big", what's a "normal" sized diver with a date in the same general price range?
I tried a 44mm on my 7 inch wrists and was surprised how it didn’t look too big. It was large but not too large. Other 44mm seem to wear larger as well.
Beautiful watch, however it's lacking 2 things: 1) luminescent markers on dial at 3, 6, 9 and 12 (also larger than what they are currently), and 2) adjustable clasp on the bracelet. Any high end diver in 2019 should have this.
Sorry Tim, I'm a Breitling fan boy, I have three. Love the watch nut at 42mm and a wrist that is slightly smaller than yours it's just to big. But the deal breaker is the Rolex movement. Not buying a Breitling with a Rolex movement anymore than I would buy the Rolex with the Breitling movement. I think that technology exchange was an awful deal. It's like me buying a new Bullit Mustang opening the hood and finding a Chevy engine.
@@paullynch4021 actually no.do you have any idea the servicing costs of a Ferrari engine. Second you do know Tudor is owned by Rolex.. If I wanted a Rolex or a Tudor I'd buy one I'm not. I'm buying Breitling. All I'm saying is I don't want a Rolex or Tudor anything in my Breitling. Turn it around, Tudor is selling one of there watches with the Breitling B01 movement. Personally I wouldn't want that either. .
This is sort of funny. You won't buy an otherwise beautiful watch because it has a Tudor movement. Well - if you spent less time being a snob and more time studying watches, you'd know that the Tudor inhouse movement is actually a Breitling movement. To be precise, it's a stripped down B01. You might also want to know that your existing Breitlings - unless they have said B01 movement - have movements made by either ETA or Valjoux.
@@ChefPelle forgive me but what's the fuss about the movement? I've never understood this. As long as it's durable keeps accurate time really who cares? I love Breitling and I agree the SuperOcean Heritage is a beautiful watch
A Domed Sapphire crystal & Lumed Bezel marks would have taken this watch where it needs to be. This is the equivalent of buying a Jaguar XKE and it having vinyl seats
SOHI was a tad underwhelming, had to let it go eventually. Not a fan of dressy looking divers, not here nor there. Too dressy for diving, not dressy enough for a suit. I much prefer a purposeful looking diver. But as they say to each their own. Impeccable quality overall and accuracy (ETA) nonetheless, no question there.

An absolutely incredible watch . I get so many compliments on this one.
Beautiful looking watch by Breitling. My only complaint is that the indices should have lume applied to them.

The ETA B17 is heavily modified and its a stunning workhorse don't listen to the snobs also it keeps the watch much thinner. Both watches are perfect
Getting mine in two days and cant stop watching unboxing videos :D

My very first high end watch was a very scarred Superocean i bought used. Its just the right size.
It's amazing watch. One of my favourite.
Thank you Tim! Great video. Which would you choose, this Breitling Superocean Heritage 2 42 or the Tudor Black Bay 58?

Black Bay 58 all day over the Breitling.

Black

I love mine. One of the very few divers that looks great on leather and can be dressy
Well chosen, Todd. Between this and the similar Tudor Black Bay Steel, I'd pick the Tudor-powered Breitling every time.
Best,
Tim
To much of a purist no leather straps on a Diver. Just like no Rolex movement in my Breitling.
Too bad it’s too big for a wrist like mine, actually think it’s really nice on factory bracelet
there is 42mm,44mm and 46mm version
The Superocean Heritage 1 has a 38mm model
Would this watch be ok for scuba diving? The website skips from 10 to 30 bars but doesn’t give the ok uses for 20 bar

22

It's perfectly dressy for a suit, especially in the Mesh or a nice Breitling Leather strap.
Plenty of lume my ass
garbage compared to SEIKO Prospex or Grand Seiko
Grand Seiko great watches , they don’t hold value or have lume on many of their models. I do respect what they’ve done though . Incredible movements
With all the bland style you can handle. At least this has some historical flair, and isn't made for tiny Asian wrists.
I would never pay more than $400 for a Seiko.
