I got the 46mm version in blue with the milanaise bracelet in 2018. And I still love this beautiful watch. The deep blue of the dial is awesome and some kind of mystic. This Superocean Heritage II is really perfect.
Have it and wear it a lot, it’s really a great watch. L.E.: my understanding is that Breitling decided to swap out the antimagnetic hairspring and went for a classical bimetal one simply because the antimagnetifc hairspring cannot be serviced and has to be replaced once in a while. So, that means Breitling thought about longevity for their customers.
I've tried on so many Breitlings and never been a fan of any of them. That was until I tried the superocean 42 in green. You've got great taste my friend 😉😂
Yeah another great video, thank you Bruce. Wow, the movement finish, to me, is really nice. Just can't get on board with the mesh bracelet. When I see that 5 link you had, man that was a work of art. Or a beads of rice, maybe. I don't know.
About the subject of anti-magnetism. I've talked to George Kern, in person, and what he told me was that Breitling has everything ready technically. It just have to sort out the legal / patent issues. Now don't quote me on this: next year will be the 140th anniversary of Breitling. It's gonna be something significant…
One of my favourites dive watches. I much prefer the non silicone spring because of the eade of service. I'm looking for one of these at the moment. I prefer this to my Sub!
Weird they chose not to use a hairspring and an exhibition case back on this. Here's hoping the new version at least brings the silicone hairspring variant in the 42mm.
It’s a beautiful watch only one thing spoils it for me and it how the bracelet joins the case. No end link with exposed gaps between the lugs is a pet peeve of mine and common to so many watches on strap. I hate it on any watch and always prefer a watch on a bracelet with end link’s. While we’re on the subject drilled lugs are another thing I don’t like.
Still have the steel and gold , think I’ve owned four over the years so it has played a big part in my watch journey . Personally dosent get much wrist time now it’s all a bit glossy and blingy for my tastes now , think it’s a little dated for 2023
@@BruceWilliams Thanks Bruce. I really don't like the cyclops so no date sub is the only sub I'd get. Problem is, I find the silver/black colour a bit boring. With Omega/Breitling you have more choice. Rolex won't make the no date sub in any other colour.
Honestly, I’m not drawn to a lot of dive watches. I got my first watch, Seamaster 300 heritage, a month and a half ago and wasn’t falling in love with it. I ended up trading it back toward a Sapphire Speedmaster Professional. But THIS diver is definitely on my list!

Learn to swim by myself in a pool, at 8 was already surfing and drinking gallons of salt water. Also sailing and so on, when got to 14 my dad died, two weeks before went to see him and said...here soon these two are yous. Was one Omega Constellation 1946 and a Mido multi fort from late 50 early 60, not was still is well kept in my treasure drawer. Moved to the States when reach 20 and kept with my mother. That was when my love for watches got into me, start learning the language and little by little better jobs and wear watches. Was in St Tropez when a friend all happy showed me the watch he just bought. Was hooked by the brand, he had a Chronomat with leather bracelet. Had a Tag Hauer and forgot who made it but was for Ferrari that cost me U$ 900, was my first real luxury watch. 1987 and only 24 in Italy on my second month at a great job that never once cross my mind. Guess most of you reading this boring and long words knows the feeling, seeing and got to have. Well the year after helped a friend in Baltimore, maritime shipping and made good money. Took a train to N York with money when leaving Penn station had all figure. 30 minutes later was in Celina store or boutique on 5th Ave buying my first Breitling. After one girl friend from St tropez gave me a gift, was a Breitling Eric Tabarly a great french sailor that died with the sad news my friend had also died with his V Max bike. Got a Colt to dive and surf, 30 ATM soon will buy my last. Odds are will be Super Ocean Heritage, now bracelet in the box rather wear rubber.

It’s very bad if watch is being updated and updated because it’s betraying people who already bought this watch. It’s bad for brand’s imagine. For the price over 2000€ in stainless steel the watch must be totally perfect.
I don't like the mesh strap , it just looks naff. It reminds me of the 70s when the market trader put a new expander strap on a watch for a couple of quid. Its 2023 and for 5k its just poor , imo. The watch itself is nice.
@@Bredes1 Do you really think they care about that? You do know who owns Breitling. CVC Capital, destroyers of the environment! But you like their window dressing!

Rolex fanboy who loves what Breitling is doing these days. They are absolute beast.
I bought this watch for my 40 th birthday last year. I love it
Such a gorgeous yet understated watch. They really got it right with this one!
Had the blue 42mm SOH 2 for over a year now ... still loove it! 💙
Absolute cracker of a watch. Agree 100% Bruce.
I have this exact watch in 42. Absolutely love it.

Yeah I talked with my watchmaker about this. Metallic ones have been doing a great job for decades, issues can happen with either material.
Breitling are deservedly winning back fans in this era.
Great video, I bought my 42 blue, mesh few months ago, great watch ,I wear with shorts, t shirt ,it goes every where, looks class
I've tried on so many Breitlings and never been a fan of any of them. That was until I tried the superocean 42 in green. You've got great taste my friend 😉😂
lol so do you
I own it. Love it. It's my favorite travel watch. Goes with anything. Bulletproof. Looks great but people usually don't know what it is.
Beautiful watch. I like the 44 more for me, but the whole range is stunning
Really cool retro watch❤
Hi Bruce, I have the 42 mil in blue in my collection. And I love it even the honeymoon phase is gone 😅 Best regards Uwe
I love how Breitling decorated the movement, bringing this watch to a whole new level. Shame that we don't get to see the movement.
Never a fan of Breitling till the ‚SuperOcean Heritage '57 Limited Edition „Rainbow“‘ with the blue bezel came into my view. Now it‘s my favorite !

IMHO This is a gorgeous Breitling,
just got one on ebay for 3050.00.. pumped. I almost went with the one with the rosegold but opted for black on black

I own the 42 blue it is beautiful thanks for the video
Another great review Bruce. Can't see this design ever being dated.
There’s a study that suggest the metallic springs are better then silicone in the long run.
Love this Breitling.
Bought this same watch with Milanese bracelet also got a free ocean racer strap with it as well. I have it on the rubber strap as my daily
Congratulations on the latest addition.
I LOVE the superocean heritage 42 ! It's such a special watch.
I have the green version and absolutely love it. PURE CLASS!
I love mine. I prefer the rubber strap myself and would love to have another one in green, but I'm saving for my grail watch, an Air King.

There are so many great options out there, but this just keeps calling me back
I love this watch and yes, the clasp needs to be updated on the mesh.
This was the watch that got me into Breitling. Really beautiful.
Ugh I'm about to buy either the 46mm green dial or the black dial with gold bezel, so torn...
I own the 44mm blue, same as 3:50
Bit too flashy for my taste , but a good looking watch.
On an aside - the hair is looking on point Bruce 👌
Just recently got the green heritage b20 absolutely love it but anyone else notice that the lume does not last long at all?
Like the watch, but wish it was on a regular bracelet. That mesh bracelet doesn’t do it.
This was my wedding watch. But in 46.
Definitely a Breitling fan boy, & why not, their later releases have been excellent
Agreed

Weird that they did away with the Silicon hairspring. Does the new SO have it in the movement?
We need to talk about the hair
Jealous?
I'm stuck in the early 2010s

i have the blue dial COLT
The detailed dial with winged B?
I tried one on at a local AD. I was VERY close to buying one. I didn't, as while I liked it, I didn't love it. I have other watches higher on my list.
I have this one in 46m. It is a stunner for sure.
What size wrist do you have? I am thinking of getting a 46 also as I like large watches, how does it wear?
A true sleeper for me. It's only a matter of time.....
Maybe July?

It’s funny, the non-silicon hairspring is a plus for me!
Why is that ?

Great looking watch but for me Breitling = aviation and chronographs. Not divers.
And it comes in absolutely garbage packaging!
