    Thank you! I couldn’t decide which bracelet to go with!

      Definitely buy Breitling Superocean Heritage II on shark mesh bracelet. A rubber or leather after-market strap is easy to add later.

    Hello. I’ve just buy one. They have changed the clasp, now it looks way better.
    Totally agree with you, it is a gorgeous watch.

      I’ll have to check out the clasp on the newer reference. Thanks for the heads up and it’s definitely an excellent timepiece!

      Where did you see that they changed the clasp?

    • @PhD63
      @PhD63 2 года назад

      I’ve just bought 2, one on a bracelet and one on the rubber strap. The clasp on the bracelet is exactly the same as this one but the clasp on the rubber strap is far superior with a double button release mechanism and 9mm of micro adjustment. Both are blue with rose gold and look fantastic.

    I was in Miami a few weeks ago with my wife, and we picked up this same watch at the Breitling boutique but with a green dial. I was wondering how durable it would be. Your video clearly shows that you do not baby the watch and yet it’s holding up exceptionally well. Very helpful video. Also, I almost bought it on the rubber strap but at the last minute decided to get it on the steel mesh bracelet. After watching your video, I’m even more convinced I made the right decision :-)

    • @IrixGuy
      @IrixGuy  Год назад +1

      Green is a great color. Congrats! Yours may have the newer-style clasp which should be even more durable. It’s a fantastic timepiece and you did the right thing. ALWAYS purchase on a bracelet is a bracelet is available (exception would be most dress watches) and strap on a leather or rubber strap later :) It’s funny that you say that because I’m actually about to purchase a rubber strap for my Omega SeaMaster 300m to bring new life to it. The Omega bracelet is dated according to today’s standards but it’ll look slick on a tapered rubber strap.

    Hi! New subscriber here! I'm very glad to have found your channel since we have a pretty similar collection. Like you, I've owned the black and rose gold 42mm SOH on the rubber strap for what must have been 4 years. The rubber is great in summer when you are being very active (climbing, swimming, fishing, gardening etc.) but its not great in winter, particularly with long sleeve clothes since it doesn't slide smoothly underneath a shirt cuff. I was thinking of getting the mesh bracelet for that, but how likely is it that Breitling make a big update to their bracelet/clasps for their 140th anniversary in 2024 with micro adjustment etc., and buying their current bracelet + clasp will feel very obsolete then?

    • @IrixGuy
      @IrixGuy  Год назад +1

      Thanks for the sub and new bracelets are highly possible. So is the SOH being discontinued. The current reference shark mesh bracelet is great, even though other manufacturers do a better job with the clasp. Speaking of awesome Breitling bracelets.....the new original SuperOcean has a phenomenal bracelet! On a side note, it looks like we may have a chance picking up wristwatches at a discount soon! A major market corrections seems to be in play!

    • @shuiguigmt890
      @shuiguigmt890 Год назад +1

      @@IrixGuy Hi IrixGuy, thanks for the response! That's really interesting! What makes you think that we might see a discontinuation of the SOHII? In which case, I better get the mesh bracelet sooner rather than later, even if that means missing out on a potentially updated clasp.
      Re. market correction; very likely! The market tends to correct when the global economy is cooling and that's what we are likely to see next year.
      Btw, I also have an Explorer 2, I thought this might be a cool watch that could suit your lifestyle and adventures (though tbh, your omega, sub and superocean are all just as fit for the job)! Best wishes

    Nice watch thinking about buying the solid gold version hopefully like you say it will be a classic in the years to come

    • @IrixGuy
      @IrixGuy  4 месяца назад

      Be forewarned that solid gold is a much softer material. Also, if I was looking at solid gold, I’d probably go Rolex or Patek instead. The SOHII with the gold bezel is super nice.

    Hey there great review, good to see the 42mm on you as we have same size wrist but think I'm going for the 44mm and definitely with the metal bracelet. Great video there !!

      @IrixGuy  2 года назад

      That's a great choice also! I tried on both the SOHII 42mm and 44mm at the AD when I purchased this one. Both wore great. I suggest trying on both and be sure to inspect the dial closely. There are subtle differences between the dial on the 42mm SOHII and 44mm SOHII. The shark mesh bracelet is a must, regardless of which SOHII you go with! This watch is overdue for some real lume on dial and maybe bezel, a micro adjust fine clasp and In house movement that's around 13mm or the new pelagos movement which is 12mm. An all time classic!

    Have two of these in blue in stainless steel and gold. My wife wears hers with the mesh bracelet and I wear mine on the rubber strap as I think the mesh bracelet makes the whole watch too blingy. I also much prefer the clasp on the rubber strap which has micro adjustment.

    • @IrixGuy
      @IrixGuy  9 месяцев назад

      The gold looks nice! Yes, the shark mesh bracelet has a lot of shine. Speaking of clasps, the clasp on the latest SuperOcean (non-heritage model) looks amazing. The clasp on the SOHII shark mesh feels a little thin and that and lume are two of my minor gripes.

    Which to like better the Breitling Super Ocean Heritage or the BB58 ? I really love the BB58 blue mostly due to it’s smaller size

    • @IrixGuy
      @IrixGuy  2 года назад +1

      Both are exceptional and unique. Both use a Tudor movement. It's really just a matter of the aesthetic that you prefer. I own both and rotate frequently. The SOHII has a ceramic bezel, so it'll likely never fade or scratch. The BB58 has an aluminum bezel that will scratch but also develop a pleasing patina over time. If you go with SOHII, definitely go with the shark mesh stainless bracelet. I'd say I like them both equally.

      Tudor is much inferior company than Breitling, and that movement is made by Kenissi in collaboration with Breitling. Kenissi is just partly owned by Tudor and Rolex.

      It does not at all. Actually, it’s the most comfortable bracelet in my rotation. There are some differences with text on the dial and I think that the date window looks different too (it’s been a while since I handled the 44….I haven’t touched the 44 since I purchased this 42).
