- Social media is a great way for bakers to share their creations, and increase their business! It can help you reach new customers, increase your number of orders, and showcase your baking abilities.

Thank you for both of these videos. I'm not sure if I want to start my own cake business. I had a girlfriend who quit her job to start and did well, but, like you first video stated, she needed a work-life balance. She never found it, and a few years into it, she quit and returned back to her first job. I still have children at home, I teach, and I am in school obtaining another degree. Baking is a seed in my head...perhaps in a few years when my last two have departed for college and things have slowed down. But you have definitely given me much to think on.
Yah it is hard to balance it all! If you can juggle all that now, I'm sure you can have a cake business down the road if you want :) It can be a nice day dream for now, and when the time is right you can make things happen

Love your videos. You’re a phenomenal cake artist and you’re very giving. Thank you! I am starting my cake business with the emphasis on buttercream only. I don’t like fondant and not interested in cake sculpting or sugar work, just buttercream. I love the tall cakes concept and they’re not difficult. Your cakes are beautiful and your recipes are delicious! I follow you in IG and RUclips and you’re a great teacher! 😊

I made my first YT video a few months back after a lot of encouragement from friends. I can definitely agree that it does take some skill and at least basic video/lighting equipment to make really good videos. I think I made a passable attempt, hopefully I'll keep getting better!

Just a quick question, I film everything for RUclips in 16:9, how would I then go about getting that into square form for a shorter Instagram video please?
When you edit the video, you can crop it to be in square format, or you can even crop it in the instagram app when you post it :) That's actually what I normally do!
Hai chel.... Ur videos r really motivating... Tell me once the caje nd stuffs are ready hw to do the packaging??? Can u please tell that mainly when it has to reach a long distance??... Do u take it to the destination or people come pick em up?

For your cake videos, do you use time lapse, or normal speed?
I edit at a speed of 2-3x faster, using a customized option!

I've never shared my baking on linked in! I think it's almost easier to email business or contact their PR departments, as not very many people go to linked in to look up cake makers!

When you first started did you make seperate social media accounts like an Instagram account just for your cake business or was it your personal Instagram?
I transitioned my personal into my baking instagram in 2014!

On your instagram page with pictures of your work. Do you worry that some people might screenshot your work and say it's theirs?
People repost my work without crediting me all the time! There's nothing I can do to stop it, beside reporting the accounts. But I don't worry about it too much, just gotta focus on doing my best work and creating the best cakes and content I can :)

Well you can be consistent, have great lighting etc.. but if people can’t find your video when they search them up. The channel will never grow.
Agreed! That's why it's so important to try to gain reach or have you content be featured on the discover page, like I discuss part way through the video
