- First want to say thanks to my friend in Australia Spector Oz for giving me the confidence to do this after watching him do his. He had the commercial kit I made mine out of stuff I already had here. The connector came out of an old dead CBI had the wire header came out of old computer parts that I had. Easy and straightforward. I can take it on field expeditions without having to take an inverter with me.
You can order the kit to do this from Kens Electronics. Order DCK-1
Thanks for watching the video
Very resourceful parts sourcing there RR good job! I had those small fan headers too but mine were all on short cable runs (PC video card fans), I have since found such small headers (as I opted for) being used for a 12v supply connection in modern alarm panels.
Appreciate the shout out and the DIY update, your R1000 will run so much cooler now...
***** Thanks OZ I would have never tried it if I had not seen you do it!! Thanks for the great how to that you did and making it easy for me!!!Thanks for watching
No worries it was a fun project, I've learnt so much (good and bad) from people on RUclips just putting something back.
The R1000 comes standard with DC input.
Barry O'Grady it does not! None of them do
Barry Ogrady what?
