Wouldn’t be very practical for real life since sailing circles that close to an island runs the risk of beaching your ship; fortunately this is a game and stuff like that never happens in it SuperVinlin

As long as biffa finds one way only stuff of other stuff he'll continue to make more. I can't think of any more other than a people-a-bout, ship-a-bout and maybe a river-a-bout? Use pumps, dams and outlets to control the flow of a river. To allow more water to flow through the same space.

FYI: there is in the workshop a 4 lanes industry road at the same size of the 2 lanes. You can keep the vibe of industry road at junction instead of asymmetrical road.

You should build some sort of light house in the ferry-a-bout, or a small island with a statue, that would be cool
I'm not sure if it'll work but maybe it's worth a try; regarding the quey around the amusement park.
There is a wide quey, similar to the one you used, with two paths. The normal one on-top and a second one where the "stairs" are currently at. Maybe that quey wall would fix the 'no road access' problem of the piers and marina.

Mountain tunnels? That's a long mountain range, so I hope there'll be a few tunnels, once you've unlocked every square. Cable cars'd be nice too, and maybe a circular monorail around the entire map, eventually?

Biffa, imo the rails coming out of the station need a way more gentler curve at the point where they match the main rail line, they're a trainwreck hotspot

With the new area focusing more on metro, wouldn't it make more sense to have a hub with more metro platforms?, 6 train platforms seems a bit too much when there's only little train activity and a single metro platform when there's going to be a bit of metro activity.

Sorry for that maybe too cryptic protest joke, but I don't agree with calling a certain sailing (not necessarily wind-sail) traffic pattern applied only on cargo-barges a _Ferry_ - A - Bout, even though it can be applied to ferries, too. Since its most typical quality is that it's *round,* and the sound-resemblance with all those "-abouts" won't fully disappear either, I suggest using this name instead: *roundaboat*

Hey Biffa, despite the new high speed rail bridge being, well, a bridge... you can place it like normal track on ground level and use it for all tracks. I've been doing this on my builds so all my passenger and cargo move around fast and efficiently!! The track can't be a tunnel, though, so there's a limitation.
ME: My road traffic is a mess.

I know there are mods invisible roads, maybe there are also invisible paths, so those piers and marina could be moved ot the edge of the quay and use these to give them a road access?

Surely its more a Bargie-ring as no ferries use it. What you need now is your New-tealand majgic Ferry-go-round for an authentic Swindon-on-sea vibe.
In tropical cities density usually increases with proximity to the shore. Your high density neighbourhood near the University is quite realistic in this regard. And never ever forget trees to provide shade. In tropical cities, shade is king.
8:49 I did not expect a Seinfeld reference in 2021 from a Brit, lol. I think you could take out the one-ways in the ferryabouts and still have it function as in tended. There probably aren't enough boats for it to matter that the roundabouts have two-way traffic and it'd probably look a little less awkward than a boat going in a circle.

Random fact I thought you might find interesting. The English Channel has a traffic seperation scheme which mandates large vessles going north to follow the French coast and vessles going south to follow the English coast effectively making it like a very large roundabout.
Ahhh Biffa; there's actually "ferry-a-bouts" in real life! They're called TSS (Traffic Separation Schemes) and are used widely at sea, across the world and approved by the IMO (International Maritime Organisation).

I like the tsunami detection buoy in the middle of the ferry-about. it's oddly satisfying.
I think if you put some kind of large water feature in the middle of the ferry-a-bout, that could a) give the people on the pier something fun to look at, b) explain all the buoys around it, and c) just be a nice feature of the city. 🙂

Make a "Hubble Space Telescope" and "Weather Radar Terrestrial Satellite" on top of the mountain. Make some winding mountain roads to the telescope.

The large city wide quay wall is perfect for that harbor park type area. Lots of water amenities at the end. Loving the ferryabout lol
I didn't see anybody mentioning it.. but shouldn't you have a way for trains to enter from one side and leave the other side from the same plattform?
I mean thinking about my city's one-way station, all of the plattforms could go either way on their ways out, here they can only go in and back the same way they came from.

Bloody Penguin just put out a new mod called "Fish Warehousing" a few days ago that allows all warehouses to store fish. It is out on the Workshop.
Advantages of metro, being underground and not wasting aboveground space.
Biffa: Let's make them work exactly like trains aboveground.
It's probably been already mentioned in all of the comments, but there is a mod on the workshop that adds "fish" as an option for the regular warehouses

Great episode again. I have two comments that might help, there is a mod that allows normal warehouses to also hold fish, just like the barge harbors. I'm not sure of the name right now tho. The other thing is that I notice with the water pipes, it is possible to simply have them in straight lines in the city aslong as you put them close enough to each other that they give the blue area of effect. There is no need to go over all the roads, saves a lot of work?

With your glass box train/metro hub, you've got it so that trains can only enter and exit from one side, either left, or right. The 6 tracks on the left can only enter and exit from the left, and cannot go right, and vice versa for the right hand 6 tracks

I'd love to see a low density residential village far up the mountains. With wurly-swirly dirt roads and everything.
I love the highlighting in the new section (around 22/23 minutes in).
You can make a smooth curve using Move It. Just turn off curve road on Fine Road and smack any road on an angle. Then Alt+drag the node using Move it and voila you have a smooth road (:

Something to fix road access for the piers. How about make a T pathway cut across the wide quay, and have the T for the pier's access, then using Move It, to shove it down so it almost hides the path in the quay?
With the new area, you should use that premade dead end road and create a tunnel to the other side of the mountain, maybe joining winky wonky intersection?
I really think it would be good to raise the land inside the ferry about and put in a statue of sorts ( The statue of Libertea ??, biffaTea?? )This could then have a bridge connecting it to the greatest theme park ever !!!

A metro station between the hub and freightwarehouse dock maybe. Oh and unless you want all trains to stop at the hub you might want to consider a way for them to get to the other direction too (trainaround?).
You should download the moving bridge mod it’s really cool and can give a cool bridge connecting the islands
32:01 instead of having that station straddling the road like that, I feel like it would look better if it were just in the center of that block
There ought to be a monument or buoy in the center of the boatabout. Wouldn't wanna forget where it is in the middle of the river
