you can break in the speaker by hooking up your ipod or whatever or stream thru usb, turn it up and just let the music run thru it- stick a blanket over it or put it in the closet(or both), etc. After awhile the speaker will loosen up and smooth out. All speakers are 'tight' when they're new.
Mustang iii v1 does have its own specific channel (kinda) Hold down the tap tempo button and turn it on, this will open a factory menu and the amps raw sound. Bass, treble, reverb etc will not work, all you have is the main volume. It won't effect your programmed settings, just turn it off and on to reset it, give it a try.
+1 for Fender Mustang III, got a v2 the other day, I still can't believe how awesome it is. Don't get high output pickups (like EMG), let the amp be what it is, an AMP!
Yes, I play it through my PC that way 90% of the time. You don't hear it through Fuse though, Fuse is just effectively your control board. To play through PC you just use a DAW, mine is Reaper, and flick the record monitoring switch, then you can hear.
Well. I'm a bedroom player, it's a small bedroom in a small house, and it is difficult not to annoy the family, you can turn the volume down low but it's still got a lot of vibrations going through your floor haha. Perhaps the Mustang II would be more suitable as a first amp whilst you get to grips with things. If your house is a reasonable size though, III all the way.
No problem, they are all nice amplifiers. I would go with the II rather than the I. You will probably get more life out of it, don't be scared of your amp, my advice.
Thanks Jody,I am about to start learning guitar and I want to buy descent gear,I love metal music and I believe the distortion on this is good, would you agree?but I do want to learn everything lol I'm a bit nervous but learning guitar has been on my bucket list for years, thanks, great videos. I will be buying this amp this week
Whats the preset you are using on this demo? Can you share the settings? It sounds really good and alive. The ones on my amp seem to be very muddy and dull.
Jody, nice review. It sounds like you are using this instead of a plugin such as Guitar Rig to create a guitar sound for recording in a DAW? Why not just use a plug-in? Are the results of this amp better?
When you record with your software, are there any noises that come through when using USB ? When you record, is there zero latency? I am looking to buy one. When you mention recording the patch, are you just saying that when you record direct its going to have a different sound then live recording ? I am going to be recording some indie melodic rock. Any advice would be nice since you've been recording with it awhile now.
I noticed you have a Cry Baby there in the background. I also have one, and I've tried to use it along with my Fender Mustang III, with no satisfying results. It didn't matter whether I plugged it using the FX loop or directly into the guitar plug, it didn't sound good, and it cut all the overdrive off. Any advice on how to achieve better results?
I have this amp. It's great for what it is, but it's not the best pedal platform. That's why it has so many pedals and effects built in. Honestly your best bet would be to buy the expression pedal and use the built in wah pedal.
I recently purchased a fender mustang 3 and from the day i plugged it in its had alot of noise that really DRIVES ME CRAZY. I like a lot of distortion and that brown tone thats fat. No matter how many adjustments i make.. i still hear the annoying hiss. Tell me what to do do get rid of the noise without getting rid of the gain. I keep the mid a t low. What do need to do
Hi, is Mustang III louder than Mustang II,can i use Mustang III in my bedroom I can't decide between Mustang II or Mustang III. Can you help me? the sound quality of the mustang 3 is good at low volume?
I’d love to watch the whole video as you seem to know stuff, but the huge discrepancy between the volume of the speech and the guitar gives me so much shits that I didn’t get past 4 minutes.
These are awesome amps, great tone creation and big time loud. They are big bang for the buck. Thanks for your review.
I just bought a v3 and it is an amazing amp!
Really good video and advice...you explained the good and bad points without going on a shred fest like some do...nice one

brent purdy Since it's USB ,it's going to transfer the data a lot faster than directly plugging a 1/4 cable in, but don't take my word for it.
Does Fuse record, like could I record music with it, and if it doesn't, what is a good software to record.
Any advice on getting great distortion tone in high volume? I have had difficulty to find a great tone
Help.can't install Fender Fuse. for earlier thanks

Do you have the V1 or V2, V1's had issues.
That helps
I recently read where someone recommended this- Eliminate hiss on Fender Mustang presets by turning up the gate setting. That is a noise gate setting.
They're cheap enough to get another one!
You'd have a ball with one of these Tug
