    For all the people looking for the Amp Names and the Amp Models they are supposed to represent, here they are: 60's Thrift = (Silvertone Amps), British Watts = (HiWatt Amps), British Color = (Orange Amps), British 60s = (Vox AC30), British 70s = (Marshall Plexi), British 80s = (Marshall JCM 800), Metal 2000 = (Peavy 5150), and American 90s = (Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier). This is based on a LARGE consensus on the Fender Forums and not my own observations. Hope this helps

    I picked up one of these used, huge bang for the buck. Ya gotta tweak your tones and find your favorites, but that's pretty easy to do. The amp models and effects are very tweakable, and you DON'T have to connect it to a computer to do it! The XLR output is a huge plus, especially for this price range. No regrets!

    The MIII is an SS amp the tube traditionalists love to hate. Im a 35+ year guitar player, so Ive played through many of both. No long a gigging player, I have no need for tube amps that only like to be played at high volumes for good tone. These Mustangs are incredible for cheap cheap money. With some tweaks these are almost dead on accurate to the real thing. Minus maybe the shear volume needed to make that tubes need to break up.

    Your videos inspired me to get an old mustang iii. I’m not a beginner but I live in New York and was looking for small and cheap to haul around on trains because the Vox AC30 is too heavy. I’m more of a Fender guy and never fell in love with my Vox but holy crap. This amp nails the tone of a ‘65 twin and a deluxe reverb.... THANK you dude

      THIS! I recently went to a music store and tried the boss katana and mustang gt-100 but I ended up buying the last mustang IV the shop had in stock. I love the twins, deluxe reverbs, and Shane's personal supersonic patch (factory preset supersonic kinda sucks tbh).

    These are killer. I have the Deluxe Reverb for most gigs (we play the same place all the time and store some gear there) but have this for playing in a variety of other venues and home practice. Gets a great tone, very versatile, and with the FUSE software is highly customizable. I am in much the same boat this guy is - made a few patches (four for me - 57 Tweed, 59 Bassman, 65 DR, 65 Twin) with OD and delay and just jammed with those. Very cool stuff.

    Hi there! I have the mustang iii v2 and when i try to reach a warm tone with settings ( i used a boss gt8 with it) change many different parameters and different amp simulations, the result is always a tone too open, too much treble, even if they are about 2-3 by level, expecially when i play with a loud volume. Is that normal or is there any adjustment that i can do?

    Hey Shane
    I been playin Left Handed Telecasters for 30 years. A tube amp lover but I've been gigging with a Mustang IV and practicing with a Mustang III since 2010. I just recently swapped to the V2 Mustangs and I love em too. I bought my mustangs for the same reason. I can gig in the Ft.Worth StockYards with a Mustang, my guitar, and one chord. Very little investment and a great sound. I play Country and Swing and I'll say the "great clean tones" are a little harder to dial in, but once you find em these Amps are clean and loud. Love you're videos man and Lefty's Rules....:-)Cheers

    Yeah, this thing is great. It has the ability to get great non metal distortion for light rock, blues etc... no other amp anywhere near this price range - including the new cheap tube amps - can do better. I think the vox vt+ is a good alternative, but the Mustang has eaiser presets and much superior effects. it is also more versatile.

  • @Fatalstar08

    • @golfhound
      @golfhound 3 года назад +2

      Fatalstar08 there is so much STUFF packed into this amp. On top of there being 100 pre-sets, you can edit every one of them to your heart's content. There are at least ten amp choices, plus all of the stomp, mods, delays, and reverb for each. The fuse software is obsolete, but you can find people to help on facebook Mustang User sites. I won't bother with the math for how many different variations to can get out of this amp. Also, the more you play this amp the better the speaker gets - sound quality. This amp is the best darn invention since Mesa Boogie and Music Man designed their compact combos back in the 70's. I own a Mustang III and IV. I won't need anything else again. They are both very loud (150 watts) and being solid state, is lighter than a Fender Twin, and won't have to worry about tubes blowing. My combo weighs only 32 pounds (15 kilos). I've also tested my Mustang III against every Fender tube amp available, and the only one to come close in sound quality is the Bassbreaker. Ignore the tube aficionados. They have their own mindset and will never admit the new Fender solid state amps are excellent.

    Totally agree with your line of thinking. I have an arsenal of tube amps and an A and B pedal board, but for practices and quick small gigs, I don't want to lug my 90 lb AC30 and Pedal Train Pro to a teeny stage and hope all my connections are good. Keeping it simple is a good thing. Too many choices = tweaking all the time......
    I ordered one today with 10% discount, no tax, free ship. Can't go wrong with that. Plus able to return in a month! Had a Super Champ X2 for a grab and go practice amp, but not loud enough. This should be loud enough and have plenty of convincing tones to play a set or two! Thanks for the review!

    • @ronlight7013
      @ronlight7013 9 лет назад

      So how does the tone you get with the Mustang compare to the tube tone of the Champ X2? Is the Mustang living up to expectation for you? Thanks!

    • @Vavoom09
      @Vavoom09 9 лет назад

      For some reason, the Mustang sounds better. If you compared the Mustang to, say, a Princeton or old champ, then it might be similar or the older amps might be a bit warmer and tubish. But the Mustang for the money is a must for any studio or gigging musician. I still use my AC30 and Tungsten Cortez (all 100% tube amps) as my main amps.

    Would it be worth it to upgrade from a Mustang ii to a Mustang iii if I was only going to play it at low volumes in my apartment? I already upgraded from a Mustang i to a ii, and the improvement was noticeable but not overwhelming; but I'd buy a iii, or maybe even a iv, if it had better sound quality at low volume. I'm worried I would have to keep the volume so low it wouldn't sound right or turn it up and piss off my neighbors.

    Where can I get the fender universal asio driver? It means I can record via USB! Maybe someone else knows something?

    Does anyone know if these are compatible with the Mustang 1? I'm new to the Fender fuse world, so sorry if this is a dumb question.

    Do you think that would be a good idea to record a Bass guitar using the 59 bassman emulation of this amp (Via USB using the built in audio interface)? In this way I won't damage the speakers I guess.
    By the way, Do you think that if I use this amp with a bass guitar for rehearsals it would damage the speakers? (using again the 59 bassman emulation)

    Setting the amp up using the amps controls ignores the Gain 2 setting. Is that Gain 2 setting just left "as is" in the basic amp factory preset, or did you twiddle with it at all to get that tone. Can you remember back that far when making this vid.....4 years ago ?

    I enjoy the quality sound of the amp; my only problem is amp humming. It increases when I increase volume/gain, or if I use flanger effects. Would a sound suppressor help?

    Man, I set these all up and play with my strat and they don't nearly have the bite yours does in the video. The AC15 preset you showed, for me to even come close to dirty, I need to crank the gain all the way and put and overdrive in front. You apparently don't. Are the pickups making that much of a difference here?

      Look at the guitar and amp logos for correct positioning to confirm the video is not inverted

    Hello Sir, I'm a bedroom player, is Mustang III louder than Mustang II,can i use Mustang III in my bedroom I can't decide between Mustang II or Mustang III. Can you help me? the sound quality of the mustang 3 is good at low volume?

    • @Mr27Fit
      @Mr27Fit 9 лет назад +1

      Hey, I'd get the III, still sounds great at low volumes, has a awesome speaker. The LCD screen is a big plus and don't really need the fuse software. The III is way better then the ii the louder it gets. The Mustang III, IV, and V are Awesome, the I, and II are kinda cheaply made in my opinion.

    The tone you get at 5:30 with your 335 and Fender '65 Deluxe is beautiful! But my tone with the same setting is darker, muddier and less defined. Any idea about where I went wrong?

    I know this is an old video so I hope you see this, I'm having a hard time trying to decide between the mustang III v2 and a vox av60. I've come to realize that my living situation does not allow me use a tube amp to it's potential, volume is a problem. So I've decided to go with a solid state or modeling amp. I can hear the difference between a modeling amp and a tube amp, but in my opinion, some, modeling amps don't have a bad sound, they just sound slightly different. I don't know if you have any experience with the vox AV series, or maybe you have other recommendations as far as other modeling or solid state amps, but any advice would be greatly appreciated. Awesome content by the way!
