This Pakistani Kid Tried to Convert Me to Islam - Did He Succeed?

- While travelling through the remote Kaghan Valley in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, I stopped to see why two young men were standing on the road with signs. I was a little too curious, so they asked if I wanted to convert to Islam. See what happens and how I get out of the situation. What would you do?

So what happened?
While this is intimidating for foreign tourists, this young man didn't have bad intentions.
After I stopped, donated, and explored what was happening at the religious school, you can see why he thought I might be interested in joining.
But while this fellow was harmless, later that day, in Naran, a local butcher tried more forcefully to convert me!
My advice is to be cautious in remote areas of Pakistan and avoid being overly curious like me. If someone does try to convert you, it's best to say you don't understand and politely leave. Other travellers have told me they say they're Muslim to avoid this altogether.
What are the children doing inside?
That's a Madrasa (Islamic school), and they're learning the Quran and Arabic. They also teach non-Islamic subjects (such as logic, philosophy, and maths), enabling students to understand the religious curriculum.
Some are full-time students, others are part-time.
Graduates commonly go on to become Imams (religious leaders), scholars, or teachers in madrasas, and some go into business or take jobs.

1st of all extremely sorry for what u have experienced .. 2ndly he is just a kid so he doesnt know the way to treet foreigners ... kids just say what they believe, they doesnt know the actual or right way ... in islam we cant force anyone to convert .. even if someone asks u to then just ignore if u feel this way ... no one will force u to do anything

I'm always confused by what you could call "brute-force conversion attempts." If I simply listen to some information, repeat some prayers and say, "Okay, I'm a Muslim now, thank you!" they're going to believe that something has actually happened? It seems to me like a person would need a little more than that.

I was an anesthesiologist (Physician MD specialist) at a hospital here in Southern California (USA) in the 2000s where we got a Pakistani Christian as a surgical nursing supervisor. He told me that no college in Pakistan would admit him, unless he become a Muslim first! He said this is not the case with Christians in India. They are treated well in India.

I'm non muslim in a muslim country. I can feel the same you felt it there. Noone forces you to be Hindu in Hinduism. It's almost same in other religions too. But in Islam, people try to make conversion. Even though it's not forceful, saying someone to change religion is what I feel isn't good, it's someones one's choice to follow any religion or not.

"until he reached ˹a pass˺ between two mountains. He found in front of them a people who could hardly understand ˹his˺ language."(18:91)
in all of these verses it is through his eyes. do you see "HE FOUND" in the verse NOT HOW ALLAH CREATED SUN TO GO IN MUDDY WATER as you claimed having done no research?

"And We have certainly diversified in this Qur’ān for the people from every [kind of] example; but man has ever been, most of anything, [prone to] dispute."(18:54)
now it is not for you or me to tell what ALLAH should mention in his book as their are all kind of people some with less intelligence and who only desire a simple answer for their heart and some intelligent people like you who require logical answer both of which was known to creator and so ALLAH has answer for both.

ALLAH says: "He causes the night to enter the day, and He causes the day to enter the night and has subjected the sun and the moon - each running [its course] for a specified term. That is Allāh, your Lord; to Him belongs sovereignty. And those whom you invoke other than Him do not possess [as much as] the membrane of a date seed."(35:13)
ALLAH says: "Do you not see that Allah causes the night to merge into the day and the day into the night, and has subjected the sun and the moon, each orbiting for an appointed term, and that Allah is All-Aware of what you do?"(31:29)
ALLAH says: "He created the heavens and earth in truth. He wraps the night over the day and wraps the day over the night and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term. Unquestionably, He is the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver." (39:5)
what does this verses speak: it means when one part of the earth is day ALLAH causes night to cover it and when it is night for the opposite part ALLAH causes the day to cover it, he mentions this changing of day and night twice in a single verse showing that earth is not flat but has a spherical like configuration having two opposIte sides and the word used here is "wrap" as the arabic term for it is the same used by the arabs when they wrap turban over their head and you knows head is not FLAT but semi-sphere but you wouldn't know this as probably you don't speak arabic but clearly would like to explain arabic to us like what???, if it was flat then there was sufficient for it to be mentioned once day and night. i'm letting you know that this is for intelligent people and intelligent people thinks about and not takes verses apparently as they are spoken, remember what ALLAH said that there is example for every people in this Quran, not just the spherical nature of earth is mentioned here but all about the orbiting of earth, sun, moon has been mentioned. did you know people used to think sun was stationary? no where in Quran does it says sun revolves around earth. again you have said what you felt and not what Quran says. continuing...
Now for a common man, he does not want to know if earth is flat or round, of if the sun orbits or not and so on, this indept view will confuse him as ALLAH has given people abilities differently. and so it is only fair that ALLAH gives such people an answer too,
Now ALLAH gives an answer from the point of view of a regular human that he sees through his Eyes,
ALLAH says: "Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created?"(88:17)
"And at the sky - how it is raised?"(88:18)
"And at the mountains - how they are erected?"(88:19)
"And at the earth - how it is spread out?"(88:20)
No it is not sufficient that you listen to Quran for hear sake and say whatever your heart desires about the Quran making false claims of what Quran says. rather you have to ponder upon it,
ALLAH says, "Then have they not reflected over the word [i.e., the Qur’ān]...(23:68)
if you want ALLAH to flat out say that earth is round then know that he is the one in charge and not me or you that he gives us what we wants to be revealed in HIS Book but he has given us more than suffiecient to know about the truth and he reveals what he wills according to how he wills and knowing this should be sufficient for a non-arrogant heart.
ALLAH says:" 'he is the' Doer of whatever He wills"(85:16).
and ALLAH knows best.

I'm always a bit sceptical about giving open donations like these to people.
While intentions might be good, you don't know where the money is going.
