All vanicream , Cera ve, and Cetaphil cleansers dry me out like crazy but that la Roche posey has been a god send. It is the best cleanser I have ever used.

It contains natural squalane and is suitable for dry/ sensitive skin types, rosacea and acne prone skin. I’m tempted to try the un-tinted version. Would love to hear your thoughts on this new Elta MD sunscreen! 💜

Great video! I love the Purito unscented serum, I think it has definitely helped the irritation on my neck. I have also started using the Purito cica barrier sleeping pack on at night as an occlusive. I woke up shiny and glowing but most definitely more hydrated.

My skin is very sensitive and reactive and some products I've found that work really well are the Aveeno Oat Gel Moisturizer (one of the only products I could use on my face after I destroyed my skin barrier) and the Glow Recipe Avocado Cleanser (I finde the Vanicream can feel a bit drying).
I use a very minimal ingredient sunscreen when my skin is irritated. It’s definitely not for everyone because it feels oily and remains slippery all day. For my very sensitive, dry skin, it’s the only one I can use when I’m repairing my skin barrier. It is Badger Clear Zinc SPF 40 (in a tin). It doubles as an occlusive barrier, which seems to help my skin heal faster.
OMG I JUST STARTED TRETINOIN LAST WEEK HOW DID YOU KNOW I NEEDED THIS SO BADLY 😭 I woke up yesterday with my skin barrier feeling damaged. Red, dry, tight and itchy. Thank you so much for this!!!!!!

Can we repair our skin barrier while still treating acne? I know we shouldn’t use exfoliates but is there anything we can use to treat acne that won’t damage the skin barrier further?
I agree with the people above. There are many things that cause acne. One of the causes, which is what I had, is that because your skin barrier is compromised, it gets more easily sensitised by products or any outside factors and you get the acne flair. It's possible that your acne will be gone once your skin barrier is healed. I would definitely stop any acne treatment in the meanwhile. The best thing is to seek a reputable dermatologist and not try random products that people online recommend. Especially if you already have damaged skin barrier, you can't afford any further potential damage or irritation
Thanks so much for this video. This have really helped me with trying to heal my skin barrier. You are great in explaining different products. Stay safe. 🙏

If you’re experiencing irritation I would cut out all actives, such as aha’s and bha’s as well as retinoids, Vitamin c etc for a few weeks and just see how your skin reacts. Then if you feel like you still need an active to treat I would personally reintroduce slowly one at a time. When I had my worst acne and irritation I later figured out it was because I was over treating my skin with too many actives and stripping/irritating it, a common mistake unfortunately
Separate sensitized skin and sensitive skin. Big difference. Temporary sensitized due to different reason (climate, treatments like retinoids, over exfoliation - aka temporary damage to skin and skin barrier). Sensitive skin is a skin type. Always sensitive, many other skin condition like eczema and rosacea, and also not only sensitivity on the face. Often react to products with perfume and EO. Sensitized skin is temporary, sensitive skin is not.
Absolutely! I’ve personally been dealing with both and look for the same kinds of products/ingredients in both scenarios which is why I included them all in the same video 😊
Thanks for the recommendations Abbey! Are the cleansers you mentioned considered to be low Ph? That’s really important to me when I’m trying to heal barrier damage. 🙏❤️

That was a informative article, here area few more tips for people who might have Rosacea. 1. Are You Sure You Have Rosacea? It may be common, affecting up to one in ten people, but red faces are not always rosacea. Dermatologists often see patients who are worried that they may have developed rosacea, perhaps following a bit of internet searching, but they may actually have another condition altogether. Facial redness simply occurs because there in increased blood flow to the top part of the skin, perhaps because of inflammation, sun damage or fixed widening of vessels. 2. Don’t panic great treatment is available. at the moment it is impossible to cure rosacea however it is extremely responsive to the right treatment and can often be completely controlled. Patients are often very worried when they come to see a Dermatologist that they may have a long-term progressive condition. People particularly worry about the development of a thickened nasal skin, a condition called rhinophyma. 3. Don’t spend ridiculous amounts on cosmetics. Rosacea is a common condition which is often distressing. The cosmetics industry is worth billions of pounds Unfortunately the claims that cosmetic companies make about their products being able to cure rosacea are mostly bogus. Cosmetics don’t reverse or reliably treat inflammatory rosacea, despite some companies’ extraordinary claims. So what does help? Simple cleansers and moisturisers like the Cetaphil range and sunblocks such as Anthelios, Sun Sense products or Altruist. Cover up foundations and powders and green-tinted moisturisers may also be helpful to cover redness and improve confidence. 4. Consider Seeing A Dermatologist. Dermatologists are the trained skin specialists in the UK. If you have any concerns about diagnosis and management of your skin condition it is worth seeing a Dermatologist to obtain an expert opinion and place you on the right treatment path. The diagnosis of inflammatory conditions of the face can sometimes be difficult as conditions often overlap. New treatments are coming through all the time and complex treatments such as laser are best done by clinicians with experience. In the UK you can check whether a doctor has completed Dermatology Specialist Training to become a Dermatologist on the specialist register of the General Medical Council. Look for ‘Dermatology’ under the doctor’s specialist register entry details. (I learned these and why they work on Natural Remedy Blueprint site )

I have watched so many of your videos. I still do not know if I should use these two products together and or which order to put on "Crave ultra light moisturizing lotion spf30" and the " cerave resurfacing retinol serum". I am feeling burning and redness afterwards. Are they they suppose to be used together? Are they not ro be used on sensitive or irritated skin?
I know the importance of sunscreen and I really want to use it but I have so far tried 4 sunscreens and it all started off with like these raised bumps that look like pimples under the surface and then develop into a rash. It takes about a week for my skin to recover 😫. I hate the way sunscreen makes my skin react. I wish my main concern was a white cast. 😕 I am also on Roaccutane (acne medication) so I know u should be using it and should wear it no matter ur age or season. But everytime I used it ends up with me crying and as soon as I stop using sunscreen my skin rash clears up. Also sunscreen in my country is really expensive so wasting 4 sunscreens is a waste. At the moment I'm staying out of the sun and repairing the damage. I pray to find a suncreen which doesn't give me a rash.
Are you using chemical sunscreens or mineral sunscreens? Opt for Mineral sunscreens since they’re good for sensitive skin. I use la roche posay mineral sunscreen and its been useful for me.
Great, very informative video! I love CeraVe products, but over here we dont the have ointment and also, no Vanicream (pity, I know!). Hi. I have really sensitive skin but it's very acne prone n I'm in my 40s. Would these products be ok for my skin for acne n anti aging do u think? Thanks ❤️love
I going love your channel. Im happy to learn about skin routine safe and not safe product. Cassandra bankson i also watch on her channel but so much products.. And you very simple step by step very clear.
I wash then I slather la Roche posey lipikar baume all over my face then cover that with Cera ve ointment all over at night. Then in the morning I splash with alittle cold water and put vanicream lotion on. And I am still dry and tight throught the day lol. What gives ? Shouldn't that night time routine be enough for dry skin ?
Maybe u should see a dermatologist if it's accessible to u. Cause at 1 point my skin was feeling dry and dull and lacking and I was slathering on thick creams along with ointments and still it wasn't working. I then went to a dermatologist and because I wasn't moisturising my eczema prone body and wasn't drinking lactose free milk my eczema on my body had actually spread to my face and here I thought it was just dry patches cause it didn't look like my usual eczema . She prescribed me a cleanser and cream suited for my skin type and then I spot treated the eczema patches with a topical eczema treatment they made in the clinic. And my skin healed , I no longer have eczema and no longer use the topical treatment. I am not saying u have it at all but think u should be checked by a professional cause it could be an underlying issue. I hope ur skin is feeling better.
How do you apply the oil to hair? At root and message into scalp or just mid shaft to ends? Also, you mentioned retinoids and not using them... I literally CANT USE ANY OR I FLAKE, do you reccomend an anti-ager other than reinol or the alike.
Love your videos, great advice! Could u recommend a good retinol to step up from my cerave renewing one? I’ve just started this April and would like a stronger one now that my skin seems used to it. Thanks so much. Xo

I'd skip treating acne while strengthening your skin barrier. Get your skin in good condition then reintroduce your acne treatment.
I guess using azelaic acid sparingly will do? It has anti acne properties and really good if you have pigmentation

@@nroy94 nope not yet, I try to introduce one product at a time and the skin has a tantrum about it. So still at a loss. Just sticking too cleaner, moisturise and spf at the moment. I have been looking at lots of dermatologist videos they say go slow and be patient. I’m using completely fragrance free and allergy tested skincare
@@gemmas8892 feeling pretty discouraged with all this, would you say there's been an improvement at least? Any product recommendations?
@@nroy94 im using Clinique at the moment it’s the only products my skin likes. Definitely use an SPF, stay away from aha and maybe even bha. I’ve just learnt to listen to my skin, keep it super simple. I’m hoping to try and add a gentle retinol when my skin is happy but go slow. Skincare is an individual progression - keep smiling
Great choices !! Thoughts on First Aid Beauty? I’ve been using their Arnica mask for irritation but don’t know if the ingredients are great or not 😂.
If it has fragrance in it I would stop using it.
@@mignonalverson655 Sephora doesn’t say but the First Aid Beauty site claims its fragrance free, okay for sensitive skin. Who knows. Haha.
@@laurenross8979 FAB is weird like that
@@mignonalverson655 she actually covered the FAB mask in her video from today. Good timing! Haha.
Just reviewed this mask in my face mask video from this week :)
The problem with all the products you have mentioned is that they all are chemically based. Not a fan.I’m going to try sensitive weleda or Pai
Loved this video! I honestly use most of these products already 😂 I got the Purito serum and you were totally right...I love it! I even put it on places like my shoulders were I am using lots of actives for acne.
I also just ordered some silk masks. I’m not getting maskne, but I am getting AWFUL dryness in the mask zone 😞 grrr
Hope you’re doing well! Xx
goodness the mask zone dry skin has been the worst!!!
Really enjoying this content!
So glad 😊
Abbey what do you think about ammonium in most products from La Roche Posay?
Ive tried a healing ointment before but it made it worst and left me red you sure the cerave healing ointment would work on me I have sensitive skin face and eczema body
Really confused with LRP hydrating gentle cleanser, and caring wash. Are they the same?
Yes, the ingredients are the same. In some countries it’s called hydrating cleanser, in some countries it’s called (& packaged accordingly) caring wash.
Oh my god now I know my skin is f’d up!!! You just gave a freaking wake up!!! Cureolgy!!!! Oh my god!!! Thank you saying it! Ever since I used them my skin has never been. The same and everything irritates it!!!
Hi. I have really sensitive skin but it's very acne prone n I'm in my 40s. Would these products be ok for my skin for acne n anti aging do u think? Thanks ❤️love
totally depends on how your skin responds! everyone is different
Did you make video of your skin routine
Please do this makeup look and lost the products and shades
Can you use a night cream in the morning I dont wear makeup anymore plus I also have fungal acne too.
Yes you can!
I going love your channel. Im happy to learn about skin routine safe and not safe product. Cassandra bankson i also watch on her channel but so much products.. And you very simple step by step very clear.
Vanicream is also my survivor for irritation. Can’t go wrong with Vanicream.
I just bought cetaphil 30 spf 😃
I show it in my hair washing routine video!
Love your videos, great advice! Could u recommend a good retinol to step up from my cerave renewing one? I’ve just started this April and would like a stronger one now that my skin seems used to it. Thanks so much. Xo
Differin!
Abbey Yung thanks but I should have mentioned, I live in Canada and can’t purchase in store 😢. Would the inkey list 1% granactive be ok? Think I have name right lol.
Can you do a review of oribe hair care?
Thank you for the disclaimer in the description box that you are not a skin care professional and this is just opinion👍
Oh no! Don't tell me you're recommending the oat balm cleanser 😩 I've hated it so much!!! But other than that I loved all the recommendations.
Can you try the foreo bear microcurrent?
The Inkey list cleansing balm is always out of stock! 😠
Ikr. Drives me nuts
Mineral oil shoudlnt be in skincare products that’s a chemical compound 16:24
