Paul, what made you choose to remove this resonator vs, the two midpipe resonators instead? It looks like an easier job to just remove the two midpipe resonators.
I have this done to my B8 S4. I would go with a proper exhaust if you can afford to. It's a bit too raspy for my liking. Although these cars tend to sound raspy with exhaust too.
I must be getting old... If I have to say that then maybe im old! ...anyway! Its a completely different car but the delete on my car was terrible. It sounded awful and droned. With the AWE downpipe and stock exhaust it sounded perfect, to me. Thats a 6 though so it might sound a bit better. Still, expect drone! It sounds ok, to me, a v6 definitely sounds better than my Rs 4 cylinder.
i did the same but when im driving i listen a grinding noise sometimed when i slow down and i going to stop at the red light..only when im going almost stop i listen a low grinding ubder the car and i hear it under my transmision inside the cabin...any idea?
Yup! This guys videos are not the best! Every video he does, seems like he’s doing it for the first time. Also seems like he doesn’t have much experience in cars in general
Why are manufacturers not using v-band clamps on exhaust systems? I work on airline and all the pneumatic piping has those clamps. These slip on clamps are poop
Hey guys, I have a mk5/8P with APR’s 3” downpipe. I’ve considered getting a resonator delete, but heard that the drone is unbearable. How is the drone when cruising 60+ on the highway?
Great job buddy. I am just curious about the sound between the shifting. if I do the same setup, will I have the same sound for my Audi S5 3.0T 2014 APR stage 1 ECU&TCU
Deutsche Auto Parts this is what you reply to? But you won’t reply to all the other people asking legitimate questions? You need to work better on your videos and answering questions
Yes it's an old video but dude says "Make sure you use proper eye protection"....... Mate, you're wearing regular glasses, no protection there from above, below or the sides. Anything substantial hits the lens it will shatter and then you have an eye full of glass. Then there is the matter of using an air grinder with Nitrile gloves (which you've already torn) which offer no protection whatsoever from the work you are carrying out. No abrasive protection, heat, spark or cut protection. Plus they are a massive snag hazard and will easily get caught up in the tool. Now if you want to forgo safety and you lose an eye or finger then fine, don't care, that's your issue. But if you want to preach safe working practices then do it right or don't do it at all. Proper safety glasses and mechanic gloves are dirt cheap so there's no excuse. Rant Over. Apart from that, great guide. Thanks for sharing.
Jesus Christ... unbolting the rear exhaust alignment bracket would have given enough room for the pipe cutter, and you didn't need to take down the hanger brackets. You just added so much work for no reason. Whoever this guy is, needs to head back to the office and lets someone who knows what they're doing actually complete the job. Holy shit, dude... the brace... you tightened down one single bolt instead of snugging all 4 and then tightening? Get out of the shop! omfg, I keep having to edit this post as I watch more of the video! "Got a leak? Just tighten it down more, guy!" No dude, it's called a torque spec. Clean the surface, adjust alignment, and if leak continues, spray with soapy water and introduce air to the system. The leak will show as bubbling soap.

I'm a Mustang/Z06 owner that just purchased a 2013 Audi S4 b8.5 to toy around with and I love your in depth techinical videos.
I am constantly amazed that VW/Audi uses those exhaust clamps from the factory.
You dont have to be removed the resanator hangers ..its way more easy to leave them on . But great job..love your video
One of the single best mods for the B8/B8.5's.
Joshua Drum Any drone? I have a V8 S5 and I was looking to make this mod.
Best exhaust mod for the money on these cars. Cheapest catback will run you like 1600 and you can get an x-pipe for like 320.
I found using a wedge above pipe I am cutting (saws all) helps.. then support under ... pretty solid and doesn't jump off lower stand support
Would it be the same on my B8 S5 3.0t Sportback? No issues with drone?
that would probably fit my 2016 q5 3.oT ? No ? I have a supersprint one, it looks the same. just curious. for q5 owners..

Can't you just spray the clamps with soap and water and look for bubbling ?
You mean soapy wooder?
@@andrewalspach4035 wourder
just feel around the pipe and if u feel it blowing then u have an exhaust leak

Neil Porter did you do the resonated or non resonated down pipe from awe
i did the same but when im driving i listen a grinding noise sometimed when i slow down and i going to stop at the red light..only when im going almost stop i listen a low grinding ubder the car and i hear it under my transmision inside the cabin...any idea?
Could you just leave the exhaust hangers bolted in and slide the resonator off that one mount instead?
Exactly what I was thinking 👍🏻
Thinking the same as well
exactly, you would only take one side and save a tone of time that's what the rubber hangers are for
Yup! This guys videos are not the best! Every video he does, seems like he’s doing it for the first time. Also seems like he doesn’t have much experience in cars in general
Alittle more sound Paul ? Lol a lot more noise with a resonator delete !😜
Iv got a S5 B8.5, I assume this res-delete would fit mine also?
8:41 Paul’s brand of “Proper Eye Protection” is the same as mine: Squinting
Heey! One question Wich Sounds more? Resonator delete or Muffler delete? Thanks!!!
I did the res delete and it is plenty loud enough for what you pay for.
Sounds good Paul 👌💨💨💥

Paul put it back together . Not being critical just my opinion .
How come, you did not remove the first resonators near the cats?
Paul, question. What is that burping sound when the car shifts? I notice this on DSG equipped cars.

Where did you get the exhaust brace holding thing from??? I'm looking for one
Hey guys, I have a mk5/8P with APR’s 3” downpipe. I’ve considered getting a resonator delete, but heard that the drone is unbearable. How is the drone when cruising 60+ on the highway?
Why not delete the pre-resonators? ie. the front two just infront of the centre one you deleted?
Safety glasses!
Do they make these for a 2020 A4?
would this part fit 2016 a7 ?
Thank you!
Before and after audio of the exhaust
Sawsall is the only way to go
Great job buddy. I am just curious about the sound between the shifting. if I do the same setup, will I have the same sound for my Audi S5 3.0T 2014 APR stage 1 ECU&TCU
Is there a gap between the pipes inside the clamp?
Any lose or gains in performance due to a change in the back pressure?
that's just nonsense
@@djsonicc I call your nonsense nonsense. There!
Sounds good, what bout removing the rear back box also?
Nice video Paul!!!
How's the drone?
Looking into this product, but how does it fare with drone?
Barely any
What about the two rear resonators/mufflers? Lose 'em!
Already have this mod on my b8.5 S5 and the mufflers are coming off next week:)

Just did mine and got charged 250
center muffler* not a resonator
Actually it’s called a resonator
@@zerofuckkksgiven8027 actually its not, its a muffler, there are 2 small resonators before it. these cars have 3 mufflers, 2 resonators and 2 cats

There will not be Back pressure loose, otherwise I'll be HP everything is factory just a little bit more escape
