I’ve got a pair and it’s very easy if you’re very careful and have done in a few times. Don’t go overboard with it and polish unless you have to, otherwise you run more risk.
Just what I was looking for. I purchased a pair of spectator, brown/white, penny loafers and needed to know how to keep the white leather clean and bright. Thanks Kirby.
in this video, i learnt that "Chamois" is pronounced as "Shammy" haha anyway, thanks for the video Kirby. Got a pair of two-tone boots by Nicks. And planning to expand my boot collection, so really interested to know more about 'pebble grain' leathers. Good info. Cheers from Malaysia. 😁👍
Hello Kirby, any additional tips for a pair of spectators where the lighter part is a cream canvas? I use the pigmented cream on the darker part, but not sure how to care for the canvas part - perhaps using the suede shampoo same as for your suede/calf cap toes?
Brilliant video which I found very helpful, Kirby. I don’t have cowboy boots (I doubt many Brits do) but I do have some R M Williams kangaroo Chelsea boots and a separate pair of their chinchilla patina Chelseas which I now know how to shine. Might be worth you reviewing that Australian brand - recently rescued, incredibly comfortable and good value.
Is the framerate very low or is it just my machine? Love the content as always. I will likely never own a pair of elephant boots but it's interesting to expand your horizon a bit.
Btw Kirby, have you ever tried horse hair shaving brushes? I could imagine it being nice but never tried one. I suppose it would feel somewhere inbetween badger and boar brushes.
Not an animal rights activist or anything but responsibly sourced elephant skin... hope they take that from naturally passed away elephants because that skin isn't coming from the meat industry.
Which is really surprising, considering that the Renovateur is water based. If a water based polish affects a patina, what would a solvent based one like a neutral cream polish do?!? I think that when people use a pigmented cream polish, they simply aren’t seeing the effect.
I don't know... me personally I hate renovateur because it leaves some kind of residue I find super hard to brush off, unlike cream... and that's even when I use very very little! I'm about to give purepolish conditioner a try! sidenote.. any tips on keeping wax off the broguing? I always end up picking it out with toothpick when doing a mirror shine on medallion toe...
I was just considering getting a pair of Spectators and thank goodness this video was just uploaded.

Those cowboy boots are a piece of art and elephant leather looks really cool.
This video is so ridiculously useful. Thank you, Kirby.
Mr. Allison, I would like to Express my gratitude to you for sharing your wide set of ideas and knowledge in these videos.
Sukhmander Singh ji ap nu koi be product Lana, please duso.
Corthay Arcas are beautiful and very long lasting. A friend of mines has worn his constantly for the past 20+ years

Just perfect, nice work and thanks for sharing.
[Spectator Shoes]: Would covering the white with masking/blue painter's tape or saran wrap work?🤷🏻♂️
I was thinking the same thing f using the masking tape or... maybe line the edges with bluetac?
Eso es precisamente lo que hace “The Elegant Oxford” en su canal.
Exactly why I will never buy spectators although I would love to have a pair
hi Mr. Kirby Allison, can u make a video to demonstrate how to polish a white leather shoe using Saphir beaute du cuir cream? Thanks.
The problems of shining elephant boots. This channel has jumped the shark.
What is responsibly sourced elephant? Does someone follow an elephant until it expires of old age?
Hahaha business in the front, party in the back. Why does that make me laugh every time you say it.
Do you clean your shoe brushes?
Excellent.
Didn't we do this already ? deja vu ?

anyway, thanks for the video Kirby.

I wouldn’t recommend suede cleaner for canvas
My one boots were hard to get a mirror shine on I think it was the type of leather

Dam it my shoes look exactly like the last ones! Well time to take care of them!!’ Oh and there beautiful by the way👌
Regular guy: "O look, a video on how to take care of shoes"
Kirbey: "Now I'll teach you how to polish elephant skin!"

Came here looking to take care of my dress shoes, now I know how to take care of my elephant hide boots that got passed down.
Btw Kirby, have you ever tried horse hair shaving brushes? I could imagine it being nice but never tried one. I suppose it would feel somewhere inbetween badger and boar brushes.
Somehow I thought the elephant leather night come up.
I just like smooth grain leather shoes so that I can polish them easily
Is this an infomercial??
All of his videos are...
He doesn’t pay for anything. All of his clothes, shoes, etc are free for his promotion of their products.
Apart from being in terrible taste, the elephant hide surely is not meant to be shined.
I would argue that if you are putting a mirror shine on pebble grain, you've defeated the purpose of both.
The second pair was the shoe I ordered from you guys, but I got the smooth version. Wanna trade?

Curious. Is the leather of animals who die of natural causes still useable?
Plenty of horror stories of renovateur stripping a patina! Soo.... nope!
