This video reminds me how to make a basket weaving with willow and it's made from the trees. But this is the leaf weaving in this version, which I have a good project to do the next job. I've done weaving for 10 years ago, I have a lots of other things to do with my Christmas tree, fruit bowl, vase, etc. I'll give it a go with that and see how it goes.

Is there another plant that can used besides cat tail for the base that will still make larger baskets? My husband is worried he may be allergic to cattail since his grandfather was (husband has always avoided it so hes never come in contact to know) and neither of wanted to risk harvesting it and finding out he is but I’m very new to harvesting basket materials and such
I’m wondering about how to prepare cattails. I cut a few leaves this summer but the were brittle and not at all shaped like yours. A different species perhaps?
