Not correct I told a guy who was a friend of one my friends… sent him a text simply that I thought he was cute… he text me back that he was surprised I had a crush on him and ask me to meet for lunch… since then we have been together for 3yrs. He said he was unsure, so she said okay I’m going to do my own thing. She cut him off completely. 3 months later my brother changed his entire life, proposed, and they have been married 2 years now. What Tony is saying is painful to hear for some of us but it’s 100 % true

This is very true. When I was dating someone and I recognized signs that just did not feel naturally comfortable; I broke the relationship up myself without any contact at all. They asked the day I said I 'could not and did not want to do this anymore' and they wanted to still be friendly. NO. Friendly to me; means being in your personal business. When you make a firm decision to not continue a rather or seemingly 'one-sided' communications; your values are not the same; you have trouble getting some basic and firm answers from that person; that person is not for you. PERIOD.

Mee too! I've been divorced for about 23 years and then I got in a long-term four-year relationship and the last two months he was acting weird after we were super super close for 4 years. He asked me where I saw this relationship going and I told him I honestly didn't know. I had not really thought about it because I was focused on my law career and my kids and then on my relationship with him. That's when he told me that he didn't see our relationship going any further and I told him he should have told me a year or two earlier. He honestly said himself he didn't know until 2 months prior when I was 10 days late and thought I might be pregnant that he started to realize that our relationship wasn't going anywhere. I knew he wanted to have kids someday but I think he was telling me when we broke up that he wanted all of that but just not with me and that he didn't realize it until the pregnancy issue.
I was not pregnant but even if I was I could have taken care of that child by myself because I already had two kids I had taken care of when I was married because their dad was never around then and he was not ever around when we split up..

I agree with almost everything except it's not about a woman being "the one". Im 26 & I feel like I wasted alot of time with guys that truly didn’t care or love me. I began to realize that it wasn’t about blaming the guy but it was more about my low self worth & low self esteem. I began to feel resentment and feeling like a failure. But I’m working hard everyday to think more positively about myself and what I deserve. I began to see the blessings in failure and I learned valuable lessons from being hurt

I just had that conversation with him. 2.5 years together and constant disappointment- he says he love me and want to start a life with me yet nothing was adding up- he wasn’t sure about me and it was starting to show.

I've done a TON of inner work - I came from a very abusive home - I was never healthy in relationships. I've done so much work over the years, but I still have not been "the one'. Once I started focusing on my spirituality and self care I started listening to what was not being said and looking at the actions or lack there of. I take my responsibility in this because I was treating myself very low and was asking him to treat me better than I was treating myself. I didn't teach him I to treat me because I didn't know how to treat me. That doesn't mean he's not responsible for his doing I just realized had I been operating from a higher energy and putting my spirit first. I could've heard him more and not what I wanted to hear sooner.

As a woman I've always stood by the fact that i can go months and years being celibate & i have..i honestly rather have a man mentally and emotionally stimulate me than physically. Sex becomes optional the older we get during dating phases /settling down , the more we value and respect ourselves and are secure in knowing what we bring to the table...the more we don't waste our time giving in towards the sexual aspect first...stimulate my mind then everything will follow naturally.

I guess she says a piece of a man better than none. but anyway he married her and he found me on another social media site that I didnt realized he used. he still try's to pull me in. You're totally right.. ended a relationship after 6 months. His actions said something different from his mouth. He would go days without calling me. We both are in our 50s. Time is to short to have to wonder if someone is interested. I ended it and have moved on. He's still trying to find himself and figure it out..
In the 50s too... I was headed to meet a guy who contacted me after 20+ years. Then he backtracked making excuses... So i purposely missed my flight cost $500!!! But i avoided another heartbreak! Funny thing... I meta guy in my hometown3 daysagowho remembered me fromhigh school...we talked for hours about 'realtalk 'stuff. He tookme to a wellknown park and carved our initials into the tree while i was on phone cancelling the out of town guy! This fine brother is a real live combat soilder and he gave me a hugg kissed my head and said he will be there for me anytime I need. He complemented me on looks my mind and my age (56 hes 59)..he told me if the other guy only knew what he was missing... Then he left. 10minutes later he sent me a motivational video that reminded me that I'm worth having a good caring loving man treat me with respect. I thank heaven for my soilder angel he was right on time!!!!!
I'm 51 years old and about to turn 52 in Jan. A man I met when were teens popped up in the comments of a fb post I was on last November and we IM each other. I was real friendly like " how's your life been?" And he had moved away from our hometown 30 something yrs ago. We was talking and video chatting since February and somethings went down where he was staying and he got arrested. He was like I call you whne I'm out but sadly 😢 no he didn't. I didn't do nothing but accept him and was supportive of him emotionally while he was in and out of hospitals with bleeding ulcers and sickle cell disease. He even asked me to marry him via text but I guess I've been duped. Oh well....two tears in a bucket!.... His loss.
Same here...11 months in and I was STILL saying to him " You're not into me?" (which he always denied) HOWEVER, would go days, sometimes a week without any communication, never offered to help me unless I asked and when he did it was half a$$, NO affection mentally or physically (him: I'm just not like that 🙄). I stayed longer than I should have. Finally sent him a text explaining my feelings and said goodbye. No response...and there you have it

My ex said I was "The One" and we married after a yr and a half later. He was a NARCISSISTIC fool. I divorced him soon after and he couldn't believe that I never ever took him back.
If you have to wonder, then he's just not that into you. My husband made sure I knew that he was for real even when we first started dating and I told him I was looking for something long term. He was too, and never made me doubt.

Sadly, in the black community especially, it’s become accepted that two ppl can date, live together and have kids etc and still no marriage? To each its own, but for me I wanted different. My entire family were married, later ppl divorced, but in my younger years my siblings and my cousins parents saw marriage. Whew!!! You hit!!! "Use you as a stress ball, take up all your time, but doesn't want a relationship." My current situation! He'll call at all times of the night while he works 3rd shift and I work during the day time, keeping me up all night talking about HIS situations with work, finances, and baby mama, but never hears me out or asks how I'm doing. I've literally asked myself out loud, "what am I doing? Why am I doing this?"
I hope your situation has improved. Taking accountability looks like: “I answered his calls all hours of the night…”. “I was keeping me up all night listening to HIS situations…”. Etc.
If you have to ask, if he’s the one, then he’s probably not the one. Love and doubt don’t fit together!

Hi I was with my kids father for 12 years we have 3 kids we meet when I was 19 he was 24 I'm now 31 and he broke up with me in July and I fought my self but I had to come to realization that it wasn't my fault he just didn't love me anymore I'm now loving on myself the way I loved him for years and now he's feeling some type of way because I don't give him that love that I once has I still love him and I want nothing but the best for him but I'm done loving alone
