Wow wow wow. I don't think I blinked the whole time I watched this video lol. Spectacular videography, spectacular driving by Jethro and a really great review overall of one of my absolute favorite cars. Liking, favoriting, and sharing this video all over the place. I'm in love. Thank you EVO for uploading this!!! I'm gonna be rewatching this one a lot haha.
I have found Jethro to be one of the best reviewers on youtube next to Chris Harris. He factors everything in and makes sure that even the layman can understand what it is like to drive the car.
Ghos7N54 It is a neck breaker for sure. I loved seeing them parked up next to other "good looking" cars like an an Aston and a Koenigsegg and have it steal the show when it first came out.
+Ghos7N54 I would pick an F Type over a GT-R just for the 6-speed manual. It's a hoon's best friend. Comparing to GT-R, however, it does lack an aftermarket and a good club.
As many have already commented, spectacular review! Jethro is one hell of a drifter! Amazing cinematography as well! EVO please start giving credit where credit is due, who shoots and edits these videos?
Just fell in love with the white exterior and matching interior. It always looked somewhat dull but this is absolutely brilliant. I genuinely love this car.
Almost all sports cars of its class (with the exception of the 991 maybe) are way too eager to oversteer IMO. That's down to their suspension setup, street tires and insane amounts of torque.
I am patiently waiting for Jaguar to fulfil their promise and give us a proper manual transmission. That would make going sideways even more fun along with the overall driving experience. I have been madly in love with this car for quite some time now so you will have to excuse my ranting. Good to see a proper F-type hooning Jethro.
I want Jag to build a manual transmission as well, but unfortunately that's not what most buyers want. The Ferrari California is the only Ferrari with a stick anymore, and the new one doesn't have a manual option, so it doesn't make business sense for Jaguar to revert to the technology.
noidentity458 Well you are comparing two different segments. There seems to me more manual tranny options now on cars under 100k then over 100k. The segment this F-type is in will have a good amount of manual buyers. Lets not forget what jaguar's CEO said long ago, that a car has to have a manual transmission for credibility. This is their word, not mine and all I ask is that they fulfil their promise.
Jethro - really like your reviews. I think you're the only one in EVO that uses the correct terminology. When you say chassis, you mean chassis. When you say suspension, you mean suspension. Well done and please, educate other EVO presenters...
Cool!! Really like the look of this car, its so modern and unique yet oldschool without being retro. Well done Jaguar, this is a properly desirable sports car!!
I'm lucky enough to own a V6S, more than enough power to have fun, and oh the V6 sound with those 380 horses is awesome !!! As for looks, it gets more looks than you average GT motor and being built in Britain, will always be my first choice. Lovely, simply lovely !!!
So much better looking than the convertible. I can't believe how much more rigid the coupe is over the convertible, makes you wonder was the convertible properly engineered in its rigidity.
Very impressive... But have you considered to do part of this review NOT going sideways? Us mortals don't do that... So not very intersted in its drift abilities if you actually are interested in buying the car...
I think ***** has a point. It is not necessary an average consumer advice, we are after. But drifting like that means, to change the [quite expensive tires] after the end of the day. The car is still in the area, of an everyday car - not a second, third or fourth car for super rich - which can stay in the garage. Hence not only the drifting, but also the hardness of the suspension is more of a serious setback. And even the sound - yeah we all love the grunt of the F-Type- but it also have to be sometimes a bit more silent, when you are using it everyday. I am a bit annoyed, that everybody seems to object to the soul of the 991 - I really like this car and while it is a very popular sportscar [because of a reason] I still can see the occasion of it [otherwise you have to get a GT3 or Turbo]...
I agree. It gets tiring watching an entire video of drifting. I'd prefer to see some other elements of the cars performance characteristics put on display rather than solely it's predictably satisfactory tire shredding ability. I get the impression that the content of the review took second place to Jethro's desire to destroy a set of tires. I'd do the same in his position but it's not what I want as a viewer.
I'm driving one of these this week while my 911 is in for bodywork after it was bumped into. I really love this F-Type. It's sounds epic, looks stunning and certainly gets more looks and waves than my 911. However the visability is shocking, and the handling, although very good, isn't anywhere near that of my 911. The look and modernness of it is far better than the 911, but overall the Porka is the better car. Cost wise the F-type fits right between the new Boxster and the 911, and that's where it belongs on the pecking order in my opinion. Awesome car, but the mighty 911 still owns this category.
This F type is so cool ! with the panoramic roof, 550hp and a body that looks like that ?! Wish it had a proper manual but I guess Jag has to listen to the majority of the customers requests.
First of all I say I watch top gear, I love it. Hard suspension is not a bad thing. Depends where ur at. Like me in LA, where holes and bumps everywhere trust me u don't wanna be in a car that has soft suspension. It never stops shaking. But I took the camaro's super hard suspension just fine. Depends on where u live and how old r u. Personally, I have driven the F-type, it's not very harsh like Jeremy said. I mean the seat the nice and comfy, suspension is good. I mean I'm 20 so it might be different for everyone. Like I said, depends what country , where and how old u r
I think comparing this to a 911 is like comparing the 458 Italia to the Mercedes SLS. It seems like the Jag just goes sideways all day long compared to being a real drivers car. Two different ways to go with for a sports car, either have more fun and be a hooligan drifting everywhere or have an engineered driving tool to nail every apex with the quickest time. Can't really go wrong either way...
The goal is to have a garage with many cars. But for now, I’m thinking this may be added to said garage before a 911, AMG GT, or M2 Competition. Especially for the used market value of 50k for an awesomely specced/color car.
I can't really understand why everyone thinks this car is so beautiful. I know its designed by the same guy from aston martin, but the AM's cars are on another level of beauty IMO.
Yup, the R8 might has more precision. But insider this. R8 v8 is already more expensive then the F-type R. dispute that the V8 version have a ring time around 7:50. According to jaguar and motor trend magazine the convertible version can go from 0-60 in 3.4s, and a quarter mile of 11.6 122MPH. The V8 R8 is not match for that. And jaguar claims that it can go around the ring in 7:39. Which actually faster then the R8 V10 version, but we don't know if that's true. But consider that 80% stiffer body, with new carbon ceramic brakes. More important it is FR and it has a pretty good trunk space for a two seater( coupe only). On the thee hand, jaguar had a long term depression and it's great to see that they are recovering from it and starting to make good cars.
when a car looks that good, it really doesn't matter it's kind of a one trick pony. it's flawless on the outside. kudos to Jag's designers. the wheels are superb to go with the car's lines. total hooligan. btw, that Spanish cop proves that not all cops are bad!
Look, it doesn't matter that it's a one-trick pony. Most people who own this car are just gonna drive it around town usually, with the occasional drive to the countryside to put their foot down a little bit. And while I realize that isn't the audience EVO panders to, it's still true that most of these cars will never see a track, so what matters to most customers is just the experience on the road. I doubt that this car disappoints in that respect, because Jaguar makes good road cars.
Not sure if I would pikc it over a 991 S but I would def test drive this before making my decision. PS: when are all car manufacturers going to start includng HUD standard
With all of the track number competitiveness that's going on between the Germans and the West, Jaguar has not forgotten what driving a sports car is all about. Now how about a manual, Jag? There are many more things that you can do with a clutch than a floppy paddle. But in todays traffic a clutch would be a nightmare.
I'm no fan of Jags but damn this is probably the best Jag since the E Type. This car completely washes the nasty taste of the older Jags which were good but not great.
DenHond Thats what I thought too. So why not manual? I mean, yes, it wouldn't be a good cruiser, but it isn't now either. I only see advantages of manual in this type of car. OK, you can leave auto as an option.
mieguistumas Yeah. A lot of people are waiting for a manual gearbox to be offered on the F-Type. Jaguar said they would, but they're taking there time about it, unfortunately.
As Top Gear said in their review of the F-type convertible: it's too stiff and uncomfortable to ride in. The coupe is 80% stiffer? What happened to proper GT cars? Even the new DB9 is criticized for being too uncomfortable...
80% stiffer refers to the stiffness of the body structure, not the suspension. Theres a big difference. A stiffer structure actually helps ride comfort. Go look up figures for body stiffness on a Mercedes S class or VW Phaeton for example.
HoldenFordFan Yes, the stiffness is about the chassis. But the ride is still harsh. As Clarkson said it's too harsh and this coupe has also a very harsh ride, just like most Aston Martins now a days. They could have made it a bit softer and more pleasant for a GT car. I think it would fit the car better.
I'd still have the V6 supercharged S model over this, but I'd now get the coupe, better looking yep I think so & even better handling that's a match made in heaven F type coupe please
Yeah because everyone who owns a £90k car is going to go drifting in it. so it goes sideways, it shows the cars chassis has balance, so now drive it properly to highlight that. not drive it like a 20 yr old.
muzman777 Disagreed. It has to be the right time, right car, right driver and right place to even consider driving it like a 20 year old. When those events all line up, good god please go for it. When it comes down to it, it's a lot harder to make a review with all this "candy" in it. Appreciate the candy.
I agree. Drifting is probably a lot of fun for the driver an looks great on camera but i would rather see a fast lap around Circuit de Catalunya and hear some comments about the handling. When i think of cars performance on track, drifting is not the first thing that comes to mind.
Quite surprisingly, Chris Harris made a very constructive review of this car (with almost no drifting), check it out, that is the review we all have been waiting for.
The way he throws the car around every single corner is breathtakingly beautiful.
Finally. A Jaguar review with no mention of room for golf clubs!
Wow wow wow. I don't think I blinked the whole time I watched this video lol. Spectacular videography, spectacular driving by Jethro and a really great review overall of one of my absolute favorite cars. Liking, favoriting, and sharing this video all over the place. I have found Jethro to be one of the best reviewers on youtube next to Chris Harris. He factors everything in and makes sure that even the layman can understand what it is like to drive the car.
I agree. This is one of the best car reviews that I have seen.
Another car I would rather have instead of a GTR, except the F-type actually looks like it cost a $100k.
Ghos7N54 It is a neck breaker for sure. I loved seeing them parked up next to other "good looking" cars like an an Aston and a Koenigsegg and have it steal the show when it first came out.
Ghos7N54 It does cost $100+. IDK where he got $85k from. Maybe the V8S Roadster.
67ES335 think about the different currencies
+Ghos7N54 I would pick an F Type over a GT-R just for the 6-speed manual. It's a hoon's best friend. Comparing to GT-R, however, it does lack an aftermarket and a good club.
The F Type R stars at $100k I don't know where he is getting $85k? Maybe he's in the UK?
As many have already commented, spectacular review! Jethro is one hell of a drifter! Amazing cinematography as well! EVO please start giving credit where credit is due, who shoots and edits these videos?
Just fell in love with the white exterior and matching interior. It always looked somewhat dull but this is absolutely brilliant. I genuinely love this car.
This is my dream car... I will own one soon, 2016 just has to be real good to me...
+skateboardkid Just got a 2015, best money I have ever spent. Good luck with your efforts to purchase one, you will not regret it.
The car's beauty is breathtaking.
The sound is magic.
And that was some pretty good driving, too.
Jethro is right up there with the best reviewers anywhere on the planet including CH great job keep it up
Jethro can really drift! LOL
A great review of a great car!
Drifting is cool, but I want to know how it handles when you're trying to set a clean lap time, too.
647killa it took em 10 months but they built one!
what a fucking incredible machine with crazy sound and powerful engine
I want an f-type, its my dream car!!
i just got my own 2016 edition .. great car and a fantastic drive.. love the looks
Jethro - really like your reviews. I think you're the only one in EVO that uses the correct terminology. When you say chassis, you mean chassis. When you say suspension, you mean suspension. Well done and please, educate other EVO presenters...
Absolutely Gorgeous film...what a HOON the type R is as well. The highest quality EVO vid to come out maybe ever. Brilliant guys...just brilliant.
I swear my heart beats for this car ever time I see it.
My favorite Evo PRESENTER!!!!!
present day design icon and a future classic, what a car!
Had to watch it twice just cause it was soooo good!
Cool!! Really like the look of this car, its so modern and unique yet oldschool without being retro.
Well done Jaguar, this is a properly desirable sports car!!
Actually im shocked seeing someone drive like that but still can talk calmly 😂😂 wish i can drive like this guy! Professional
best jaguar ever! beautiful car
You have not seen the E-type
kHaliffa94 This car is better than a E Type.
Great standard of videos nowadays Evo - well done!
I'm lucky enough to own a V6S, more than enough power to have fun, and oh the V6 sound with those 380 horses is awesome !!! As for looks, it gets more looks than you average GT motor and being built in Britain, will always be my first choice. Lovely, simply lovely !!!
Brilliant! Great review! Great camera and audio! And no bloody music!
Keep up the good work.
Subscribed.
I love the F-Type coupe
That car is so unbelievably beautiful.
One of the most entertaining road cars out there and has the looks to boot. Can't wait for an R-S or GT whatever version!
Best car review ever. Love the F Type. Liked.
Great review Jethro.Keep them coming.
Loved the high speed long corner drift about the one minute mark!
Keep up the good job EVO !
Jethro is a great reviewer, 10/10.
What more can i say✅ pure personality😎
So much better looking than the convertible. I can't believe how much more rigid the coupe is over the convertible, makes you wonder was the convertible properly engineered in its rigidity.
Very impressive... But have you considered to do part of this review NOT going sideways? Us mortals don't do that... So not very intersted in its drift abilities if you actually are interested in buying the car...
Try a channel that isn't Evo then.
It's the same everywhere else now... Everybody is doing like Chris Harris, which isn't relevant at all for a test drive IMO...
Try Car Buyer where they tell you how many bottles of water they can put in the glove box.
I think ***** has a point. It is not necessary an average consumer advice, we are after.

I love that engine sound!!!
Great job on the videos, keep them coming!!!!!
I love that thing... I'd still go for the roadster here in California though.
It looks so amazing!

Mark Halton do you agree with comment at 6:35?
Yes! And if you're thinking of buying one I would really recommend it.
This car is so awesome that i can't believe it's a Jag.
I mean exept the XK-RS Jags are not... that wild ! This car is a pure beast i love it :D
This car is amazing
This F type is so cool ! with the panoramic roof, 550hp and a body that looks like that ?! Wish it had a proper manual but I guess Jag has to listen to the majority of the customers requests.
people read a title that says "the ultimate drift machine," click on the video, and then bitch about the driver drifting too much :/
First of all I say I watch top gear, I love it. Hard suspension is not a bad thing. Depends where ur at. I really can't think of a more beautiful car than this I love it. Convertible or coupe I don't care which one I just want one so badly
Jag f type r it is a perfect example of British beauty
fantastic drive as always
Is this the 2015 rwd model??
That is a nice-looking coupé.
I think comparing this to a 911 is like comparing the 458 Italia to the Mercedes SLS. It seems like the Jag just goes sideways all day long compared to being a real drivers car. I'm subscribing and it's 2020,mad car
Nice drift at the end! :)

Stunning.
The new icon for Jaguar !
Really cool shot at 6:50
I counted one corner when he didn;t go sideways.
Great video in a Closed road of course.
Jethro is the best. you cant complain about controlled oversteer
That's some serious drifting for a country road
I can't really understand why everyone thinks this car is so beautiful. I know its designed by the same guy from aston martin, but the AM's cars are on another level of beauty IMO.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
How much of the improved handling though is attributable to the suspension and handling tuning vs the added rigidity?
Yup, the R8 might has more precision. But insider this. R8 v8 is already more expensive then the F-type R. dispute that the V8 version have a ring time around 7:50. Gotta love how he can power slide and talk into the camera all while on public roads. respect
Awesome car, good job, Jag! Good movie.
Where was this filmed? ....Please
It sounds like a Jaguar!
when a car looks that good, it really doesn't matter it's kind of a one trick pony. it's flawless on the outside. kudos to Jag's designers. the wheels are superb to go with the car's lines. total hooligan. btw, that Spanish cop proves that not all cops are bad!
Wonder how much they bribed him!
right

Right
Did Chris Harris produce this video?
that was insane
Not sure if I would pikc it over a 991 S but I would def test drive this before making my decision.
PS: when are all car manufacturers going to start includng HUD standard
With all of the track number competitiveness that's going on between the Germans and the West, Jaguar has not forgotten what driving a sports car is all about. Now how about a manual, Jag? There are many more things that you can do with a clutch than a floppy paddle. But in todays traffic a clutch would be a nightmare.
2016 model will receive a 6 speed manual for all models.
+USASPORTSCARDS Not the V8 R models. Just the base supercharged V6 and V6 S models.
I think handling wise Porsche would be better. But overall, this seems more special and spectacular.
Good times for sure...
Drift competition between this guy and Chris Harris!
How many rear tires did Jaguar bring with ....?
I'm no fan of Jags but damn this is probably the best Jag since the E Type. This car completely washes the nasty taste of the older Jags which were good but not great.
Holy crap, this guy's life is like Need For Speed 2 IRL.
I have the F-Type R is when im racing should I turn off TracDSC?
When I'm drifting should I turn off full dsc? or Trac?
Whats the difference?
The sound on this rivals AMG Mercedes cars. Pure evil.
So this guy's great at drifting, awesome. How about an actual review of the car now?
How many sets of tires you have changed? :D
A quand la manuelle?!
Hey heres a car review ! Lets just show clips of us drifting it !
seems like every performance car review is like this now
The coupe looks so much better
Would it lose or gain weight if manual would be added?
It would lose weight.
Ferrari F12? Vanquish?
Riles07 Jag XK is going out of production if I'm not wrong.
I think that the reviewer meant that the chassis itself was 80% more rigid than the cabrio rather than the suspension being 80% harder
80% stiffer refers to the stiffness of the body structure, not the suspension. Theres a big difference. A stiffer structure actually helps ride comfort. Go look up figures for body stiffness on a Mercedes S class or VW Phaeton for example.
HoldenFordFan
Yes, the stiffness is about the chassis. But the ride is still harsh. As Clarkson said it's too harsh and this coupe has also a very harsh ride, just like most Aston Martins now a days. They could have made it a bit softer and more pleasant for a GT car. I think it would fit the car better.
Even if it's dangerous to drift on those country roads, so is every thing we do daily such as driving to work or riding a bike on the roads
I'd still have the V6 supercharged S model over this, but I'd now get the coupe, better looking yep I think so & even better handling that's a match made in heaven F type coupe please
Cool car. Too much sideways action tho. Just drive it hard, without the twattery
Track Battle!!!
0-60 in 4 sec, 186 mph tops...pretty vague numbers for a 542bhp 2 seated supercar..i still love it though
sick car!
Is Chris Harris directing this video. Enough with the going sideways already. Jeez.
The video is entitled 'The ultimate drift machine'... go cry about it somewhere else.
Yeah because everyone who owns a £90k car is going to go drifting in it. so it goes sideways, it shows the cars chassis has balance, so now drive it properly to highlight that. not drive it like a 20 yr old.
muzman777
Disagreed. It has to be the right time, right car, right driver and right place to even consider driving it like a 20 year old. When those events all line up, good god please go for it. When it comes down to it, it's a lot harder to make a review with all this "candy" in it. Appreciate the candy.

Quite surprisingly, Chris Harris made a very constructive review of this car (with almost no drifting), check it out, that is the review we all have been waiting for.
Looks fun
what a car!
Is this rwd?
