      They require you to be the therapist, but then resent you for it. And they would never do anything to make it better for themselves. It's like being in one of those movies where the character is stuck in a loup, reliving the same scene, over and over again. They don't seem to want to get better. That's where I drew the line and got out.

    I believe that most people have some proclivity towards being narcissistic at some point, usually when young. Emotional wounds and low self esteem so common among young people is fuel for it. But a true narcissistic person is someone who doesn't progress to grow out of it as life goes on. They don't change which is boggling.

    Narcissist I dated had nothing. Was extremely skillful and talented in the area of his work, but his personality ruined his ability to make money. He couldn’t hold a job because he couldn’t get along with anyone. He’d get angry and storm off jobs (repeatedly). He’d talk disrespectfully and condescendingly to others. Then he’d lie and brag about his accomplishments. It only occurred to me after I left the relationship that a job accomplishment he bragged on while we were together was a big lie. Tried working for himself but couldn’t make a go of that because he lied to his clients, overcharged them, and stole from them.

    This is such a great synopsis of the narcissist's weaknesses. They make their own lives fail because of these things. Being taken along for the ride was dreadful! Watching someone self sabotage because of overwhelming fear, pride, mistrust, ingratitude, boredom (!!!), alcoholism, is beyond belief. Staying with that person would have sunk me with him. On his own, he continues to spiral into collapse. I walk into healing and a better life ahead.

The best mental picture of a narcissist is a sociopath or Satan, they actually know what is right and how to treat people right they just (in the name of evil) choose not to. There is no hope for them, never love or care for them. As soon as you can get away from them and abandon them. Leave them to their own consequences. these videos are helpful. I watch them sometimes because dealing with narc people is complicated, and can be invalidating. I grew up with a narc parent, he was grandiose. An image externally. Those who saw him athome saw the real him, he put the people close to him down, raged and devalued. Yes like a baby , without empathy. Their main drug is their image and that mask. Its atruly awfull state. They need somewhere to dump or release the tensions on. Im so glad i found healing, a safe enough person to wtiness me as sasurvivor , got the tools of gentleness and healthy boundaries modeled to me until i started applying them and my inner child and true self came out more, and no w i can choose safe enough people, and try to keep distance from narcisistic people, and civility in general but not get to close, because what they offer the closer you get is just invalidation crazy making , and draining. Lets keep ourselves safe and stay gentle with ourselves, take up our space in thworld, share and hsine our true selves and have healthy boundaries and share our true selves with safe enough people we are worth it. We can keep healing being gentle with ourselves having boundaries sharing with safe epeople and connecting withsafe enough others, and going after our dreams, were worth it :) with, gentleness humor love and respect. boundaries and distance, with people that are jsut known for their invalidation, and double standards. lets keep chosing our safe enough people , were worth it :) Thanks for the video. God speed. We keep healing empaths with gentleness and boundaries. were worth it :)

    1- Everyone should be validated by others if they deserve it.
    2- In this world, from what I've seen, "most" everyone is out to take advantage of others. By societal design. That's capitalism.
    3- Trust should be earned, not immediately granted.
    4- Selfishness sucks. Unfortunately it's a survival mechanism for many. Without 1&2, it's necessary.
    5- Pride... Oh yeah. Such a roadblock to genuine connection .
    6- Addiction. I think it's like a blanket treatment for trauma
    7- Ego. The driver behind pride. Often the inner voice behind cognitive dissonance.
    8- Can't commit. Fear must be behind this one. No way to fake that one.
    9- Discontent. Never stop and smell the roses and you'll never know what they smell like.
    10- Ingratitude. It's too bad, because even waking up is something to be grateful for. Even a smile is worthy of gratitude. My favorite is when I see someone selflessly give to someone who's down.
    I always wonder if a narcissist can be healed. I believe it is possible. I truly do.

    • @martinahavelkova9828
      @martinahavelkova9828 Год назад +9

      Well, i hoped for their healing too. But many experts say that its not possilble. Because to heal you need to realize that something is wrong with you. But they always blame others for their own faults to protect their fake mask and fragile ego. They are always hero or victim, never the villan. They only admit their mistakes to keep you stuck with their false promises, but never really mean it.
      The only person you can change is you. Its not your duty to save others who dont want to save themselves, only want to parasite on others by playing the victim. Its like filling the broken cup - no matter how much you add, its never enough.

      @@martinahavelkova9828 I've never seen it either. But I do see several narcissists on RUclips who do admit they are and go to therapy to help change their behaviour and explain it from their perspective. It may not show them healed, but that would say to me they're healing.
      Part of why I believe that a narcissist can be healed is because if theoretically a narcissist cannot be healed then nobody else could either. Healing trauma (and that's what causes narcissism) is all about going back to the beginning and allowing oneself to see and feel it then to process it and let go. Why couldn't a narcissist do the same?

    • @martinahavelkova9828
      @martinahavelkova9828 Год назад +2

      @@DustinRea Im watching one of them time to time too. But i think he does that for publicity even if its interesting. As I said, main thing is to willing the change. They would need to have major lost to retrospect themselves.
      But they have different brain than us. They are not capable of empathy. They can only fake it to fit to the community. They study others, know what is considered to be right or wrong. They actively hoover information from you - your desires, your dreams, so they can trick you and promise you that. Act like the person you always dream of. So they do it intentionally.
      They can fake their behavior when its beneficial for them. What i found out is the best way to cope with them is to keep them accountable. Demand reciprocity, set boundaries and keep them. The only person who narcissist fears is greater narcissist or super empath. They need to be scared of you to respect you. Or know that they need you more than you need them. They are like a spoiled childeren and you need to treat them that way.
      You cant heal them, but you can keep them at an arm lenght and cooperate with them at some level. But they also get easily bored, always looking for something and someone better. They are very paranoid and expect everybody is the same, so they need to betray you first. So dont relly on them much. You would be only disapointed.

      @@martinahavelkova9828 well thanks for the detailed thoughts. I definitely see where you're coming from. It's certainly what we are taught about them. But I'm not convinced.
      For me, I see everyone and everything on a spectrum. Unless narcissism is genetic, then I personally can't see the common thinking being fact. If it is genetic, then I could. But as far know, narcissism is environmental, not genetic.
      And like I mentioned before, if narcissistic personality disorder is environmental, the same way depression or CPTSD is environmental, then why would narcissism not be able to be healed, while the others can?

For example, stomach issues, hemorrhoids, neurodermatitis, pancreas, joint problems, inflammations, etc. You will never directly hear about these from narcissists; you only hear about them from family members, close partners, or victims.
