    There's a lot of talk these days about when and how we might all move to Mars. But what would it actually be like to live there? Mari Foroutan details the features of Mars that are remarkably similar to those of Earth - and those that can only be found on the red planet.

      NTDang Polinisation can be done manually, or you could grow plants that don't need pollinators. Or if you really want to be efficient, you can eat algae for the rest of your life.

    There's no atmosphere because the sun had blown it away. That's due to the lack of a magnetosphere, because the core is no longer molten like earth. To keep exposure from the sun's radiation to a minimum one should ideally burrow underground. Olympus Mons would be ideal as there should be lava tubes in and around that extinct volcano.
    That being said, if all the requirements for human life was met, I would live there. I have a great desire to live alone.

      12Music72 Fire a bunch of lasers at it, melt it and get it turning again. No joke, that was an actual proposal and it would work in theory.

    • @12Music72
      @12Music72 9 лет назад +43

      That would be one hell of a powerfull laser

    • @Sentinalh
      @Sentinalh 9 лет назад +19

      12Music72 I think the proposal involved like hundreds of thousands if not millions of lasers.
      Another proposal was to build an enormous solar reflector at Mars to focus more of the Sun's light on it.
      The other was to build factories on Mars that could use elements from the martian soil to produce methane, like Super Green House Gas factories to build up a methane atmosphere that would trap enough heat to warm the planet to the point that you could start a positive feedback loop.

      @12Music72 9 лет назад +5

      But then you still don't have an active core? Hence the solar radiation, like earths magnetic field does.

    • @Sentinalh
      @Sentinalh 9 лет назад +1

      12Music72 Well the idea is that if you can warm the planet enough you can melt the core and get it flowing again and get a magnetic field.

    I think the real question is could we actually live on Earth.
    We are tribes that are still fighting like little children over stupid things, even though we have all the knowledge, the technology, and the resources to answer the needs of every person on earth, if we only learn to relax and collaborate with each other.

      +Goodguy001 Its sad you know. I see only two possibilites : 1. We fight each other and wipe out human life with nukes. 2. We wait years and realize Earth will soon be a barren desert like Mars and die that way.
