I overheard a conversation about some dude wanting to report my love-interest NPC to the guards and get her arrested. I followed that dude, picked him up, and threw him off the cliff. Love-interest was never reported, is still here, and this had literally nothing to do with the story. 10/10 would recommend.

One save file is definitely there to stop save scumming, since there are one use items in the game that literally force a save when the item has been used.
Shhh, it can only possibly be malicious game design
that doesn't really stop save scumming cause the game has two save files. If you really wanted to "save scum" the game made it possible. Truthfully the save system is likely to just avoid having potentially millions of extra pawns being put into the games servers.
the one character slot is my issue with the game tbh. games just way too easy by NG+ and I would like to keep my character there and start a new game.

i savescummed all my saves with the chest near the dark arisen boss fight to get the 1st decent weapon that makes it a fair fight. open chest, got the weapon? no jump in the void, yes go back in town. revives you at your last save, in front of the chest.
but yeah, one single save makes you commit, not that it really matters in the second game...

@drer6405 yo I never even played the first one. But this game is straight fire!! The pawns are great. They lead me to exactly where I need to be. The traversal is awesome. You go thru wrecking shit during the day mostly. To at night running into shit that blows your mind. Super rare ass enemies that decimate ur whole squad lol. It's so good. Ima Theif with a lightning boon from my mage. I'm so fast I can barely see my character lol. Sick.
Only thing I can say is coming from BG3 to this right after, the dialogue, towns and expressions and mouth alignment to go with dialogue, is lack luster. But it doesn't take away from the game too much at all. Game still FIRE.

The hate has definitely got out of control for this game. It’s all about the experience. Once you step outside the safety of the towns the world is alive and ready to destroy you at any moment. I love the fact that the more you travel and take damage the more health permanently drops off your character and the only way to fully heal is resting at an inn or campsite. Plus any npc in the game can be killed and be revived. There’s so much mechanics at work with this game it’s made me fall in love with rpgs again. It’s almost a masterpiece 9/10
It's kind of Morrowind with current technology and insane fighting mechanics. Such a masterp..., erm masterwork 😀

Im happy that it isn't as easy to fast travel as in last game because there is so much to explore. People are just lazy. Little exploring and i have 10 ferrystones and bought none.
The guy that lost 19 hrs probably started the game from the last inn save.
Not sure what he's playing on that the game is crashing. I'm on PS5 and have put like 60 hrs into it, and I've had no bugs or crashes.

Honestly that shit happened to me, I tested at the inn in the beginning of the game and then got to the main city did a few quest all in all it was about 4 hours of gameplay then I got stuck then reloaded at an inn and lost all of that shit 😂😂, that was very annoying and lowkey almost deleted, but honestly glad I didn’t cause I did go back and found a ton of stuff I missed, that is kind of annoying, but knowing it I can kind of respect it

Only time I noticed it was in the northern forest fighting a chimera.
But on the flipside, I fought a dragon and a griffin with a bunch of magic user's and Sabrina's outside of harve and it was like butter

I’m playing on PC and it has been great. I am currently running an AMD Ryzen 9 7900X, 32GB RAM, AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX, and so far I have seen a few frame drops in strange places, other then that I am hooked on this game.
Two things. I doubt anyone would see this but one :fast travel. I personally love it. It’s like very lore driven and immersive. A useable stone, for 10 hours in somewhat experienced adventurers that are like “oh we don’t walk”. I get the time thing though.
Two: the pawns are awesome in this version. None of yall know the pain of listening to the bad audio tune in dd1 (the bug never went away for me.)

1000000% the fact they gave us fast travel (ox cart) and more option to get port crystals and what not is so nice compared to first game that journey from capital to goblin fortress would’ve had a lot people uninstalling
I have an issue with people calling it microtransactions even though it is technically correct.
What Capcom did is that they have a DLC bundle for people that didn't purchase the deluxe edition and then decided to split it up into individual purchases as well.
No of the items here are essential and most of them you'll never need, the only useful item is the Portcrystal, but you get them in game as well.
The real fast travel in the game are the Oxcarts, they're the only ones that can take you to a place you have never been before.

Having only 1 save file in an action RPG is such a bad idea. Aside from the glaring performance issues it’s the most valid criticism I’ve heard
For the 1 save file thing, they don’t want you to save scum really, so basically your actions have a little more consequence to them since you can’t just go back and change it, or if you do try to, you run the risk of losing a lot of progress from loading in at the last time you rested at an inn which later in game once you can start exploring for long periods without having to rest at an in

21:26 they're right about the demo being 5 for each, and you also have to make sure you select which ones you're bringing to the main game, otherwise you could be stuck with the monstrosity that you made for fun
The character creator also makes it clear you can only bring one main and one pawn over to the game.

There’s two kinds of people in this world. There are those who like to savor a glass of wine or their morning cup of coffee. And then you have people who slam liquor. This game is for people who like exploration, roleplay and dangerous enemies around every corner. It has that nostalgic feel of an old game like Two Worlds.
(Btw, pawns are great if you set them up the right way. Maybe not like the AI of Hunters in Tom Clancy’s Division that will make a mockery of player tactics at every turn, but pawns are pretty good).

As someone who did play the demo, I can 100% back up 11bangbang's point. You were indeed given 5 character slots and 5 pawn slots.

But if you did, made more, you were given a prompt saying that only one character/pawn would be carried over (may not be the exact words but something like this).
@@GrayTempest that’s why his point holds no merit. I also played the demo and the extra slots are there for you to continue to experiment, but ultimately the demo quite literally tells you that you can only carry 1 over to the full game
I don’t understand why this game is being roasted so hard. I agree performance issues a a very reasonable critique of the game. You are 100% correct in saying people complaining about pay to win/fast travel simply have not played the game.
These same mtx are in almost every Capcom game. People don’t hate RE or Monster Hunter the same way.
People complain AAA single player story driven games are dying out, then disparage a genuinely great game, that admittedly should be improved with some patches. It’s like cyberpunk all over.
I'm glad that you're pushing back against all of the hate that DD2 is getting. The game has some issues, performance, single save slot, etc...but overall it's a great game and most of the hate it's getting is based on lies or severe stretching of the truth. What's most frustrating about the situation is that this game is basically what gamers are always asking for. A hardcore, single player RPG with amazing combat, a gorgeous world to explore, and tons of secrets to uncover.
And yet for some reason, people have found the need to manufacture TONS of hate for it for invented reasons.
I love this game I’m level 86 and I still haven’t not done any stories yet because I don’t have the attention to rush through my gameplay just exploring 😊
I wish that the game did have better fast travel. If you’re not near an area with an ox cart or a city with a ferry crystal, then traveling can be a little much.
Also saving needs better options. Last night I had to walk forever to get to a time sensitive quest, where the quest NPC died in the middle of the quest, causing the quest to fail. I wasn’t able to reload to try anything different because of the constant auto save. And if I reload at my last inn, I’ll have to walk forever to start the quest again. These things could seriously use an update.
I agree with the save issue, but disagree with the fast travel critique. The fix to that is Port Crystals. Place them intelligently and it's not a problem.
Use your actual saves more, you have 3 options, manual save(which you should use before you do something big), auto save, and inn save.
Another thing people skip over is that the micro transactional are limited. Once your buy the ONE portcrystal for example, you can't purchase it again.
Yeah unfortunately those who didn't play the first one or listen to the developers would never understand that fast travel is not supposed to be the point. Travel via foot is. Kinda like a survival games. When go out into the world, your supposed to feel the pressure. Time cycle, distance to camps, weight overload, blah blah. Once you know that you either roll with the game or have to pass.

Currently over 30 hours in on PS5 and aside from the very occasional fps dips I’ve had no issues, it’s visually pleasing, fluid frames majority of the time and I’ve done mostly side missions and exploration at my pace I’ve done like 2 or 3 main story quests you initially get in the main city I’d be shocked if it doesn’t get nominated for goty.
So the demo that allowed you to create 5 characters . So when u play the game you use the 2 of them your main character and main pawn the rest go into the world as the character models for other non main pawns
If you liked part one, you should have no complaints. Its exactly as I thought it would be. I love it.
Facts lunch for cyberpunk 2077 was unplayable
My only complaint is the one save file or character or however. And you can change vocation whenever which is cool, but with how much like your height and weight can change things, and the fact theres the beastren race too, like it makes sense to have multiple character files. I like how the saves work where theres the one slot with autosaves and a manual save, but do that for each character. Otherwise this game is so fun!!

Me who never uses fast travel anyway. I also can’t play too much sometimes, but then just pick it up when you can. If you never have time, I think you need to seek a little more balance it’s important to make time for the things you want to do too.
I beat the game and the only micro trans action i bought was the port crystal, also the NG+ being built in is great
The pawns are the best feature in this game.
I knew the pawns was the goat: when I fell off a griffin and my pawn caught me out of the air. Then posted up to give me a boost to jump on the griffin again.
My biggest issue with the game is really a lack of enemy types and sometimes combat can make you feel like a pinball being chain stunned or knocked down for 5 mins but when the game works it works beautifully and its really fun.
It doesn't even matter if you get chain stunned or hit, pawn will just heal you and you can duck into the menu and down droughts or roborant, plus damage is nonexistent in heavy armor.
Man before I became a Truck Driver, I was hardcore Destiny player. After I got my CDL in 2018, I had to drop Destiny. Didn't have time to play it. I'm always away from home weeks to a month at a time with on average 3 days at home. And those 3 days I'm out doing errands and catching up with family. So I had to limit certain games. Ima still pick up DD2, but I KNOW I want have enough time to play it like others who do have the time. I'll make the best of it. But I agree TBH. I tend to play cod, tekken and other quick fun games that I can enjoy with my limited time at home
I played cyberpunk on launch, preordered for ps5 and had no issues. So I was surprised to see all the backlash and issues others were having. Also I've been on the fence of buying dragon dogma 2. I haven't figured out why I'm hesitant because I think id might have fun playing it but there's something that's just putting me off and idk why.
just hold off and practice patient gaming clear out the backlog and wait for games like this to go on sale most of these people are capping about the game being fye or fire it has alot of issues it needs to be treated like cyberpunk

About the save files don't people get it's online pawns in this game. On console you can just have several profiles on the same game. I have 3 Arisens and 3 pawns on mine.
I'm convinced that anybody that's complaining about how complicated the fast travel system is didn't pay enough attention to the promo videos for the game. Those decisions were made intentionally and it forces you to pick and choose when you decide to want to use your precious fast travel resources. I've even had a moments where I had to go across the map Jess to have to turn back around and go back to the capitol, knowing I would have to go back across the map afterwards again , and I would feel too lazy to do some of that at some points and I would sacrifice one or two ferry stones to cut my trip short. But honestly, fast traveling too much cuts into how fast you break up your vocations. So that will bite you in the butt down the line.

Just finished my first play through and finished with 130+ hours. Had a blast! Didn’t have too many performance issues tbh while expecting them due to reviews. Complex combat along with a very immersive world made this game amazing. They definitely hating.
I lost my manual save. Luckily i saved at an inn right before my run but i still lost at least an 1 - 2 hours of gameplay. I've been having sync/cloud file save issues since launch. I think it stemmed from my game crashing earlier in my playthrough. Everytime I want to play it's a troubleshooting task before and after. I've been backing up my saves but sometimes that doesn't even work. It's pretty rough.
I'll wait for a sale or update, but I don't understand people being mad at having one save file.

I lost 6 hours of gameplay because the game doesn't have multiple save files i had accidentally hit load at last in and that screwd me over i tried to just quickly quit and go back to my original spot but the game quick saved and set me at the in. So i can definitely sympathize with that aspect of the game I understand why they don't i assume its due to the pawn system.

Games a solid 7.5 for me. Really enjoyed my time, have some gripes, mods fixed a lot for me and took it right up to a 8. I think a better main quest and better end game would’ve knocked this out the park for me. I wish they started with Dark Arisen as a base for the game instead of the regression, maybe they missed a bit on what made Dark Arisen so good.
edit: No hard mode, diff scaling NG+, end game dungeon grind like BBI is actually my biggest issue. other than that the first half of the game was probably some of the funnest gaming experiences i’ve had all year.

Real talk, I was hype af when I saw that "demo" in the PS store. Only to find out it was just a character creator. But dude is right. You could create 5 different characters, only to use one on a single save file. Weird af.
I'm enjoying the game with zero issues (I don't play on a toaster or a console) and really I feel like the game is 8.8 out of 10. I believe the game was pushed out by Capcom to bolster their end of year profit line. There are 2 saves auto save (or manual) if this fails then there is always the last Inn you slept at save (and this save is your oh I fucked up save). I absolutely loved the first game, and I absolutely want more old school games.

worth the buy if you want a game youll play through slowly and like exploring. mtx issue has a lot of misinformation if you look up the deluxe edition youll see that the store items you can buy are just the items that the deluxe edition comes with. my performance has been fine and yesterday i was traveling in night came across a drake dragon and ended up having to fight it in the middle of the fight a griffin dive bombed us and it was a free for all and the battle lasted a whole in game day before both creatures were defeated. those unscripted moment is what makes it special

I played cyberpunk on ps5 no issues at all and The Delmamain story line is probably my favorite in gaming. Reminded me of elow govna from regular show. But dragons dogma looks like it’s a wayyyyy better release than cyber punk

Here's why i dont like the microtransactions. I found a pawn that looks cool and i grew attached to them. Me being me, i fought a whole city and EVERYBODY died. If you borrow a pawn and it dies you have to summon them again. Which means if youre low level and the owner played more and is now higher level, the cost of that pawn (the microtransaction) is greater. So $3 to respawn a pawn i like. BUTTTTT i just summon somebody else who's pawn was free and just leveled up and the pawn was free since the level difference was nothing now.
I never really has a problem with the throws. I was pissed about his PCs and his heat attack. Just buff Lee already

@20:20 the person isn’t frustrated because he can’t play at 4k. the the game is forced to run at 4k uncapped 30 on consoles without a Performance mode . that would obviously drop the resolution for better frames . that’s his issue. I don’t think you read his problem correctly
It makes too much sense to say “This game just isn’t for me” or “I’m bad at this game so I don’t like it”, doesn’t mean it’s bad, it’s just not your type of game, so you gotta purposely sh** on it because it’s “popular”.
My fiancė’s son said that the ‘Sifu’ game is wack, I said “No, you’re just bad at it, and that’s okay”. Lies of P, Elden Ring, Dragon’s Dogma is not my kind of game, it looks and plays great from what I’ve seen.

2:15 it is 100% pTw (Pay to win) as you can buy credits with real money and then spend those credits on buying a max or close to max level pawn/pawns that can carry you through the game. Not that it really effects anyone else as it is a single player game after all. But micro transactions have no place in a single player game where they are putting other quality of life items behind pay wall. just one example, the ability to re-do your character customization.
6/10. I think my major issue is the gameplay, the moves are so boring and repetitive, I wish there was more weapons that included finishers or something that was different. No lock on just feels like I’m just slashing without a cause, just feels disconnected in combat. No fast travel sucks, no decision making in dialogue, and I can’t roll or dodge. Other than that it’s a cool game, just needs a couple tweaks

I am waiting till it goes on sale. I'm so ready to get my hands on this, more so than rise of ronin. Which, looks cool, but DD2 looks like it adds new features I haven't tried before.
The only thing im wee bit sad about the game is having 4 skill slots and Male characters restricted from having a petite-twinkling-hour glass body, ifykyk, and those are not even a problem, I FOCKING LOVE THIS GAME 🌸

DD2 does not have MTX, it has DLC. MTX is purchasable repeatedly. These items can only be purchased one time. That makes it DLC. As you said, they have no real effect on the game. The game is amazing and I am playing it over Guild Wars 2, Final Fantasy 14, and Elder Scrolls Online. That’s saying a lot for me!
People need to find the Eternal Ferrystone and the fast travel argument becomes irrelevant.

Despite all the problems. The 12 hours I've played Dragons Dogma 2 on PS5 trumps the 60 hours I put into beating Starfield.

This is a bad consumer product , that doesn't conflict with it being a good game.
Alot of people are walking away from games and AAA in general because its becoming a worse product and a constant test of Minimum viable product . It has very little to do with the game itself.
In regards to this title you have the trifecta - Denuvo, microtransactions , the new AAA cost with a very poor optimized PC port.
I’d give it 7/10 transportation / movement is the reason why.

My only 2 issues are putting in a stamina system in a semi open world game with no mounts 😒. Either add mounts or use the stamina system only for fighting. And having a world where everyone talks but your character is trash. Small detail but trash. Other than that the game is fire
