    This piano is attached to her soul mentally. This is why she smiles when she hits those hard notes. They are one..she has always known this. She was born like this..a special gift from only God.

    Far as I'm concerned, Emily, you can play the Boogie every time you want to. What's not to love? As I live and breathe, Emily is THE BEST composer and pianist in America today. She has no equal. I can't wait to hear what new music she will come up with in the near future. Go, Emily Go!!!

    it's so nice that she doesn't forget to smile while she is playing :) it looks like she is having fun while she pushes the keys down...amazing!!

    my late uncle had a master’s degree in piano performance from a top uni, was considered a prodigy back then, and used to play this for us when we were kids and sometimes as adults when we’d request it on xmas... i searched it up just now hoping to hear something close to as good as how he played it again AND SHE DELIVERED!!! AMAZING 🙌 thanks emily

  • @absoftitanium

    She makes it look easy and she's smiling the whole time. Emily is a musical genius of the ilk of Rachmaninov, Beethoven, Mozart. How lucky for us to have lived in her time.

    • @brgilbert2

      absoftitanium The thread lists 5 comments and I see there are only 3 here so you must have deleted the other 2. Deleting has the desired effect without the crude commentary and considering Emily might read this, well I hope you see my point. And besides, isn't it a little beneath you.

      My mistake about the spelling (tend to make spelling mistakes when I'm really tired). She definitely has a strong talent. She is definitely developing her own style (it is VERY commercial and some of it sounds rather generic, but that's my opinion). But she isn't emulating anyone. She's just being herself. I listened to the Diversity album, and not one of the pieces interested me. But having said that, she does have a strong future, at least in the US. And I agree with the other posters who say that she is nowhere NEAR as talented as the other composers you listed. I can give you two examples similar to this- Chopin was called "Mozart's successor", and the singer Beniamino Gigli was called "The Second Caruso". It just goes on, and will go on- people will always say "He/she is the next...". Emily's music just sounds... cliched to me.

    • @brgilbert2
      @brgilbert2 7 лет назад +1

      Reading your critique and your opinion on Emily and about the album "Diversity", I can only assume that you do not care for Jazz. And as for the other posters who agree with your comments about Emily's talent, the post of any poster including you is nothing more then a post that promotes ignorance and stupidity!!! Let me quote from Zuill Bailey who performs on one of the cuts and is a world renown cellist, "Emily bear is obviously classically trained. But she is not just an interpreter and performer. She writes her own music. Everything you hear on that album came from her. She wrote everyone's part. She directed us. One forgets within minuets that you are listening to someone who is a child. She is an absolutely exceptional---its literally---it makes one believe the myths and the grandeur of what Mozart would have been like had you met him. This person is so purely gifted that music simply pours out of her. It pours out with such joy and creativity and spontaneity that you stand back in awe".
      That is only part of what Zuill Bailey had to say about Emily Bear's talent. While you are entitled to your opinion your critique of her talent and comparisons to those greats of the past is more than ignorant and stupid. When Mozart gets around to compose pieces of Jazz, Be-bop, score music for film let me know will ya!!!

      I actually do listen to jazz in moderation. Benny Goodman and Thelonius (sp?) Monk are amazing. But when it comes to music, classical is my passion- I studied it at uni. I just don't care for Emily's style of jazz. Ignorance and stupidity huh? Interesting words. And there are a lot of classically trained musicians who write jazzy-sounding music- Ever heard of Gershwin? He did EXACTLY what Emily Bear does. And calling my opinion both ignorant and stupid is not just immature, it is kinda hurtful. And what that cellist says about her is true of EVERY composer. Her music isn't classical at all. And it's MINUTES not MINUETS- this isn't a video about dancing. I'm just tired of people going around praising her like she's some kind of God, which she isn't. She's just talented, and the media is blowing it out of proportion. Yet fanboys/fangirls like you just rip into people who don't enjoy her music. Just because I don't enjoy her music doesn't mean she isn't talented, OK?

    OH MY GOSH..Amazing...i can feel her love of music her connection is palpable and her passion transcends abstract words notes on sheet music even a metronome would humble itself..she is beyond that which contains her. Emily her family although talented in their own rights, support her right to quit and or to continue to take a break time off and to travel and see the world ...after all ...it also means the entire family can travel together..what a perfect bonus.the family that supports her love of music also has guided Emily in the right direction..the best education the best the creme d le creme of whose who. Her grandmother is a concert pianist and I believe her grandmothers tender love and care and guidance was the facilitating factor. How easy it is to break the spirit of child looking for approval and trusting our judgement..how careful we must be to guide without admonishing to be firm yet encouraging and to allow that process without frustration without curt dialogue and most importantly without changing how we view that child. they are still after all...children..the music the gift resounds the ancients...but the spirit although enormous...still resides in the heart and soul of someone new to this world. remember to be kind always...

    I'm always amazed at the fact that someone is always jealous of these young players and try to find something to pick on. Constructive criticism is fine but using foul language to describe how a young girl plays music is just sick. This gal is obviously a young genius, but only time will tell if her playing will mature to something to compete with the finest adult musicians. Meanwhile she should have the support of adults and not the petty critique of an insecure listener. Way to go Emily.

      I agree. I dont play any instrument so I just think she is amazing! And she will only get better over time. Not that I think she needs much improvement but like I said I am not musical but everytime I hear her play it touches me and I feel the emotion from what she is portraying. Isn't that what music is supposed to be about anyways.

      Well not exactly. As far as I know, she's not famous for her compositions, and all of those people are composers. The only person I can think of that was remembered for their talent was Paganini and he's remembered because he composed things that only he could play at the time. Someone like Alma Deutscher, who is famous for her compositions already, is more likely to be in those textbooks.
