    I designed OEM intake manifolds for 7 years. It’s always interesting to see how people modify them.
    When we tested the manifolds to failure, they would usually burst near the weld flanges. I’d guess that thinning the walls near the runners or TB flange would have little or no impact on the life of the manifold.
    Sorry for the steps on the runners. They were usually unavoidable due to cheap manufacturing processes.

    I just ported the extra one I got off eBay. Mine doesn't look as good as yours. But, I think I will be okay.

    Have you ever ran some abrasive putty through a plastic manifold before?

    • @headgames
      @headgames  2 месяца назад +1

      no, I would never do that. Unless you have a way of telling the putty what to remove and how to shape it.

    There is a pinch just past that first seam, as you go deeper into the runner is there much material on the sides? The lower part of the intake runner near the head has something to work with(sides), not sure past that first seam toward the plenum

      @headgames  4 месяца назад

      I am not sure, I feel like I showed that on the vid.

      @@headgames Im at 1.57 at the port opening, just not sure I can go 1.57 past the pinch ....... I think that transitions to a much thinner runner wall

  • @CJ5EVOLUTION

    How do you measure wall thickness? Same way as with cast aluminum?
    What were the power gains?
