We’re in the same boat. Love Unmatched, love all the characters and decks, but man oh man, Cobble and Fog is just so good. It’s definitely our favorite so far!
Heath Washburn I think it feels fine. All the characters are pretty different in the way they play. So a lot of times it isn’t necessarily that the characters are better, just that you have to figure out how to play them or defend against them. These all feel balanced
@@Nozdormu1982 Nice one. Also I looked at the rules for this on the main site but is is possible to have a free for all battle instead of teams? I usually host game night with my friends and it's generally about 4 to 5 of us cause someone usually shows up late or has to leave early for work due to working the night shift so it's usually down to 3 to 4 people.
I grew up reading a lot of Victorian era literature and I loved this when I was playing it on Tabletop Simulator. I immediately preordered a copy at my local shop and I cant wait!
Zee, I jumped into the unmatched system shortly after seeing this review on Cobble and Fog. Great review and yes a fun system indeed. Playing it with my daughters is a blast! They love it as well. Big win for the family. The Artwork, presentation, and components, etc as you said are amazing setting a benchmark for all other games to follow
Unmatched is a reboot of the Epic Duels game system, which I played a ton when I was younger, and I'm blown away by how good it is. Every change they made was an absolute improvement. The biggest difference is that the funnest choices are usually the best choices! These games steer you into the fun. I've already pre-ordered Cobble & Fog, so I'm glad to hear it's so good. Jeckyl & Hyde looks like he plays a bit like Alice, who's been my favorite so far, so I'm stoked to try him out! Of course my roommate's favorite is Bigfoot, who has 5 cancel cards, so I'm also excited to destroy him with Sherlock.
Totally agree! I’ve been lucky to playtest the latest sets, and this my favorite set so far. Invisible Man is my favorite across all of Unmatched, and honestly all four of these are among the best.
Cobble & Fog was the set that got me hooked on Unmatched. Just got both Jurassic Park expansion in the mail and I'm keeping an eye out for Bigfoot and the Alice boxes
I’m thinking of getting this game. I love everything about it except for one thing. The artwork looks great on the cover and on the cards but is it just me or is the artwork of the board itself really ugly? Just doesn’t look thematic at all to me. Or does it look better close up?
Dang it Zee, you can't just name one of the famous authors! Then it becomes a test! I came up with the others fairly quickly, but I did have to look up Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde. It was Robert Luis Stevenson. Whew! All better now.
Nice review, I’ve been trying to decide between this game and dice throne since they seem to satisfy that 1v1 combat itch. Which one would you recommend between the two?
If I want to play this with my brother (not only) which is 9. He played some games that are more complexed but I don't know if i should buy this version or battle of legends cause I understand this version is cooler but the charachters like Dracula and Hyde/Jekyll could be maybe a bit dark/scary for him. What do you think?
So..what you're telling me is..with the right timing and set up..Dr. Jekyll (pronounced Jee-Kul according to the original author of the book) can turn into Mr. Hyde and ONE SHOT Dracula?...Holy crap...
So this is a stand alone? I know nothing about unmatched. Do they just keep releasing different standalone boxes? Can you mix them? All I know is the 10/10 has me like 👀
It's stand-alone but you can mix and match. The only one not stand-alone is Bruce Lee, since he doesn't come with a board or opponent but all the rest do.
Mmm.. I don't know Zee.. You've said that Sentient replayability is also high so I bought the game but the art which was the same for almost all the cards (4 types) has significantly reduce replayability...
"So then Sherlock Holmes walked up to Dracula, punched him in the face, and then ran away..."
"Dr. Watson, have you been drinking again?"
I can hear this in Jeremy Brett’s voice. Bravo.
Great feedback on the game! It will be my first Unmatched box. Thank you.
We’re in the same boat. Love Unmatched, love all the characters and decks, but man oh man, Cobble and Fog is just so good. It’s definitely our favorite so far!
Any power creep? Or, does it feel balanced against previous sets?

Heath Washburn Feels very balanced. I playtested these across all previously released sets, and every match was anyone’s game.
Are you trying to say that the gameplay thus far is unmatched? :D

I do not envy you when you go to rank all the unmatched characters. They are all good and all so different.
10/10!!! I don’t know whether I’ve ever heard Zee give a 10! Wow!
Maybe to his favorite Ticket to Ride? Maybe.
I think he gave Atlantis Rising (2nd ed) a 10/10 as well.
And Empires of the North

First review watched from the series because of the theme (love these characters). So cool that it has such high praises.
I was already really pumped for this. Thank you for raising my excitement even more when I can’t get it till October 💀
Glad to have caught this review, I'm going to check it out this weekend! Thanks, Zee!
Just bought this from our local store (their first day back open yesterday!) can't wait to play it!!!
Just picked it up finally. Can't wait to jump in. Thanks
Completely agree! Fantastic edition for sure and undoubtedly the best set due to theme alone :)
Great review.... Zee just gets better and better!
Love Unmatched. Can't wait for this one. So far Bruce Lee is my favorite, but damn Invisible Man looks fun.
100% agree. It is the best set. I wasn’t that excited for it, but after playing it a couple times, it’s the best overall set.
Can’t wait to get this in the U.K.

Really want this one but it's nowhere to be found right now :(
Watched just in time to shop at GenCon. Thanks, man!
Wow! 10!!! Perfect score.
just ordered. this game is so so good
Looking at what's in these decks, the characters are less subtle than Battle of Legends, but look a lot more complex at first glance.
Cool. This was the first set of Unmatched I bought. Liked the heroes better than the other set.
When does this come out??
Dang it Zee, you can't just name one of the famous authors! Then it becomes a test! I came up with the others fairly quickly, but I did have to look up Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde. It was Robert Luis Stevenson. Whew! All better now.
Nice review, I’ve been trying to decide between this game and dice throne since they seem to satisfy that 1v1 combat itch. Which one would you recommend between the two?
Jose Manuel Diaz both are good but unmatched don’t use dice and it have some tactical decisions because you have to move your characters

He is 9, he might think they are cool, not scary.

I really wish they would come out with something that expanded the game to 6 players. Then I'd be ALL IN!
You should consider timestamping the videos so people familiar with the system can skip straight to details of the new factions
With all DT reviews I just skip two-thirds of the way through the video to the final discussion...
This is a great game. So tactical and splendid. Oozes theme. Great stuff by restoration games.
When will this be released?
My FLGS said my ordered copy should be shipping July 15th.
I've been waiting for this game. Can't wait to grab it
Thanks Zee. Been looking forward to this and you've convinced me it's definitely worth a purchase.

This looks so good
Lol I love this. This game is very interesting I love it. In general I feel like there is more to this game than meets the eye.
That is awesome, sherlock holmes vs dracula totally unmatched and totally awesome!
Why isn’t the invisible man just a base?
Never mind, what they did was much cooler.
I think they originally planned on him being a translucent mini but decided on the final version at some point.
Because then he would be naked
Wow!
Just imagine if these minis were cast in some dark metal...
I really want to play this game but I don't have time to go into the translation hell.
Living in an English speaking country would be so nice...
First! Looking forward on getting this!
Victorian England setting
The term you're looking for is Victorian
No chance to get it in europe... that just sucks
Meanwhile you have it? I have! Greetz from Holland 😎
@@joosterkelens8430 I got it :) found in a shop as preorder for september. Arrived in june :)

Wat
Ummmm
The card art one of the coolest parts of the game imo
@@captainmellifluous cool and samey
They should make a wwe wrestling version of Unmatched
