“Bleeding me” from this concert was the best.
It was. James had a phenomenal vocal performance and the orchestra perfectly melded with the song.
Outlaw Torn was pretty good too
Best off the load records
Outlaw Torn is better though
this has to be done
Metallica - The Outlaw Torn from this concert is the best
Damn skippy na'wat'isayn
Yes! X10000.
Such an underrated song
I can't decide between Bleeding Me and Outlaw Torn, but yes, both are amazing in this show.
If they were pulling from Load I would have hoped for The Outlaw Torn
Ah man, y'all definitely need to do more tracks from the S&M record. The entire concert was amazing with the San Francisco Symphony. The writing from Michael Kamen for the orchestra compliments every song crazy well. Great, great record. I think y'all did one before, not sure if you had done more than that.
They are doing it again!! S&M 2!!! Thank you for your thoughts the other day too Vin& Sori! Cheers From NZ. Stay Classy!
This song touches my heart so much. November 1999, I had an epiphany that shed 18 years of depression and I listened to this song so many times. It made me break down and cry each time I heard it, and I still choke back tears each time I hear it. "For years the fist I made couldn't hold or feel" is so powerful. I love Metallica, but this is, by far, my personal favorite.
I still cry listening to this song. The S&M version of this is by far my fav Metallica Song
Hope you are doing well, bro.
@@williamnecessary1674 I'm with you. We share the same thought.
@@CrociatoAzzurro 20 years later and I'm in a much better place. Hope you're doing well, too. James Hetfield's words have soothed me since first hearing them in 1986.
@@williamnecessary1674 just heard this version, shed some tears myself
Metallica- Until it sleeps , it’s about James moms fight with cancer
One more song with a lot of meanings
They should do the music video on that one. Lots of biblical stuff
What? I always assumed it was about his anger issues....
I always think of the incredible hulk
should have never been done without Jason as it was his only true duet with James
LOVE this performance!
R.I.P Michael Kamen
This concert was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO under rated!!! The SFSO gave Melallica's music so much more depth and a fullness quality to it.
I have it in DVD and in CD too, since. it was reelased in 1999 or in 2000?
The boys recorded this concert in march or april of 99 months, and then in 2/5/99 they visit us for the very first time in Bogota-Colombia
It was?? Was massive in my world when it came out..✌🏼
@@Flatallica It was massive in my world as well, but if you ask most people about what live Metallica concert they should see, the most common answers are Seattle 89 and Moscow 91.
@@stevewilton8215 I could agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.. 😎✌🏼
Seems that the older I get, the more I like Country-Allica hahaha “yeahhh” 🤠
You are not the only one
Alternica?
The feel of the songs seems to amplify as we grow older. And we start to appreciate the music for what it is and not if it is cool or not among your friends.
Same
@@timometsanoja9666 Winner Winner Chicken Dinner.
This concert was my very first show. I was 16. I've been to 24 metallica shows since
MetallicaThe Outlaw Torn Live [S&M]
You guys should do a full album listen of S&M
RIP Michael Kamen
YES! I totally agree. The whole concert is amazing and Metallica really sounds great with a symphony.
But S&M2 though I went I loved it but both are extremely great and amazing only if I went to the first
YES THEY SHOULD lol
The whole concert is great. Call of Ktulu kicks it off...
Also, say what you will about Load and Reload but those songs are lyrically some of the realist songs you’ll hear.
Fixxxer breaks me every time.
Yep!!
Overly maligned albums for sure. Fixxxer ranks real high with me, too, next with the likes of Thorn Within, The Outlaw Torn, Ronnie, Poor Twisted Me...Basically any track that wasn't overexposed on TV and radio.
King nothing and Prince charming are my favorites. Next to Bleeding me, Outlaw torn, Where the wild things are... 😁
Always said if you took the best of load and the best of reload and made a "Master Load" it would be the best Metallica album of all time, even better than Ride the lightning and master. Make it a track list of
1. Aint My Bitch
2. Until It Sleeps
3. King Nothing
4. Hero of the Day
5. Bleeding Me
6. Mama Said
7. Fuel
8. The Memory Remains
9. The Unforgiven II
10. Better Than You
11. Low Man's Lyric
That album would be so fricken good but because they made the two albums in two years there seems to be a lot of filler tracks that should have all been B-sides to the Master Load masterpiece
George Bedrin I agree, but I’d choose different songs
Seeing others enjoy this era of Metallica makes me really happy
Arranged and conducted by the late great Michael Kamen. S&M is a phenomenal album.
I remember when this happened. I geeked out so hard, and would watch it religiously as I had taped it off of MTV lol. This was one of my favorites from the show along with Bleeding Me, Outlaw Torn, Battery, and No Leaf Clover. Thank you for taking me back to high school in a good way lol.
WELCOME to TRUE talent. No computers making noises. A symphony orchestra AND a metal band playing together...flawlessly.
Today’s pop “artists” can’t hold a candle to actual skill and talent.
They are however very adept at pushing a button on a computer so it can play music for them as they sing karaoke.
What about rap artists 🤮
The only thing that sucks about s&m I that they put autotune on james
You guys are killing it with the uploads! Hope you guys and the family have an awesome blessed weekend!
Metallica - Mama Said
It's Metallica's most country song, but it's also Hetfield's most heartfelt song to his mother...
Load gets shat on so much. The album is actually an amazing rock album and ends up being some of my favorite songs (and I was big into "Justice" as their best album for like 20 years).
Mark McDonnell me too man, I remember picking up Load when it came out and falling in love with it so fast. Everyone I knew that was a Metallica fan shunned it, and I listened to it on repeat for months. I just recently listened to their entire discography again, and I think Load and Reload hold up so well.
I saw them on the tour with the orchestra. The feeling as the orchestral wall of sound hits you, as the song picks up, was amazing.
The Kings. I can’t believe I was front row at S&M 2. 🤘
His dad left just before his mum died, who wouldn't get medical treatment due to their christian scientist belief. So James was suddenly force to be man of the house. Fucking brutal.
Really happy you liked this one Sori 😍 and by God, I miss Jason on backing vocals! Call of Khtulu and Bleeding Me is the best from this concert 😍 Helloween ☆ Keeper of the seven keys 🎃
Yea they definitely lost something when Jason left, He was almost a second singer
“Bleeding me” is nr.1 from this concert
Bleeding Me AND The Outlaw Torn from S&M ... the BEST
Devil's dance from S&M
"The outlaw torn " from this performance is fantastic!
you should watch no leaf clover with Metallica also from San Francisco
They already did..
Danne vafan gör du här
I think they already did No Leaf Clover.
Ja va fan Danne?!
I love the original version from the Load album. This will be my first time listening to this version. In the future a reaction to King Nothing also from Load would be really cool. Have a great day guys 🤘🏽
I've never seen a song captivate Sori like this one. You know she loves it!
No Leaf Clover is the best S&M song. It was made to be played with the symphonic orchestra.
Completely agree with that.
In my opinion very few songs from the S&M album actually benefited from the orchestral arrangements. No Leaf Clover, Bleeding Me and The Outlaw Torn being the few notable exceptions.
The whole S&M concert is the best. Not only because of the orchestration itself, but also because of the final sound quality. It's really and truly piece of art, amazing job!
I have 2 cassettes of that concert!! Good times! Loved the classical/metal combo!!
Every time you mention your a small channel is every time I think the big channels don’t even come close to the talent and quality you put out for us Villagers. Substance is top notch here. Sure your channel started off a mustard seed and we know how that story ends! God bless guys 🙏
For sure one of my favorites off of Load. I also really like Until it Sleeps, Wasting My Hate, King Nothing, The House Jack Built, The Outlaw Torn, etc.
For whom the bell tolls from S&M is amazing imo. The fusion of the band with the orchestra is incredible. It's seamless & just sounds right & like it's always been there.
Great reaction, I knew you'd like it Sori. This is your style
I'm gonna be perfectly honest here. The first time I ever heard this song was in an AMV for the Dragon Ball series, it used a lot clips from the movie versions of the Dragon Ball anime..for those who only know Z and after I'm talking back when Goku first met Bulma and took down the Red Ribbon Army as a kid. All the stuff that happened BEFORE Z. That was where I first heard this song and there was some really good parts of the AMV that hit some good syncing with music to cool images on screen.
This entire concert is phenomenal. Like, it's probably my fav live performance ever. Try the outlaw torn or until it sleeps next from here or original recording.
I didn't know they did a orchestral of their song. How beautiful . Blown away
Love whaching your reactions keep up great work
Throw a dart at this set list and you'll hit something golden. This was one solid gig and album... This was a project that would have been straight down Cliff Burton's wish list... The load and re-load albums aren't as bad as their reputation is. They aren't thrashy like the old stuff, but they are solid albums... You should give them a chance.
such a full sound and makes an ok song very enjoyable, orchestra such a great contrast and collaboration to this music/song
Load is very underrated. It's a great rock album.
So many great suggestions can't argue with any of them make it a metallica friday all day
You should do The Outlaw Torn, that's probably the best song of all this era!
I want Vin to learn Frantic Disembowelment by next friday.
It's one hell of a workout.
That was magical!
Sept 6th 2019 - Metallica is doing another concert with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra.
okay! I'll admit...this is the song my son convinced me to listen to the "post Black Album" Metallica. The genre didn't necessarily fit the bonfire, beer drinkin, tractor racing, peeing behind the bush metal I was used to....I find myself Loving Everything Metallica!
"I Disappear, Hero of the Day, Whiskey in the Jar, St Anger, Until it Sleeps, The Memory Remains, Fuel, King Nothing, Unforgiven2. Bleeding Me, No Leaf Clover, The Day That Never Comes, Turn the Page, Whiskey in the Jar, & probably more I'm sure the Metallica Family will tell me...they know! I absolutely Love the Decades of Metallica!!!
Country-allica? Only Mama Said is really the country song on the album, I just think Load and Reload are more alternative rock albums
Tama Drummer exactly! Wasting my hate is sooo heavy and speedy...
3:21 that one is a reaction! and 3:45 second reaction!!!! I LOVE IT! good job guys!!! Love METALLICA too jejeje I listened to METALLICA all my life since 15 years old......I really enjoy watching people react to songs from my teenage.
I have a class in 2 hours CANT STOP WATCHING
You guys make a GREAT team!!! Thank you for reviewing the Metallica catalog. They truly are an incredible band, that does not abide by the rules. And I LOVE that about them. Rock on Vin and Sori!!!
My mother passed away suddenly in '03. It was and still is the greatest tragedy of my life. I'm 48 and it still hurts some moments as the day it happened. It took me so long to get through it...years. The Load albums went through it with me. Such under rated albums! Please do more! The Outlaw Torn, Fixxxer, King Nothing, Until It Sleeps, Better Than You, Carpe Diem Baby, Devil's Dance, The Unforgiven II, The Memory Remains, Fuel, Bleeding Me, Poor Twisted Me.
This concert was a masterpiece!
This whole concert is amazing. As many others have said, Bleeding Me, Outlaw Torn, No Leaf Clover are all good, but you won't find any that aren't awesome from this show. The music for this show was written by Michael Kamen (who died a few years later from a heart attack). Michael Kamen wrote the string section that plays during the album version of Nothing Else Matters. He is also the conductor for this concert. I think there was 110 musicians in the symphony, give or take. It was a show that won't be repeated, at least not by Metallica and not this beautifully done.
React to Metallica- Mama Said
Ork _ oz, the most country of Metallica songs
Love that one!
@@StephenRitter as well as one of the most heart-felt ones.
I'm not a country fan at all, but Mama Said is a great song. I think they should have a listen to it.
Coming soon S&M concert on september 2019...
S&M is amazing, still to this day.
The guitars and the symphony blend in so well.
Damn, now I need to watch it. 😅🤘🏼
"The Thing That Should Not Be" from this concert/album was the best
Hetfield's father left when he was young, then his mother died when he was still young. So he had no parents for a while there. He reunited with his father years later before he also died from cancer as I recall.
I know you don't do countryallica much but mama said is a great tribute to his mom as well also please do fixxer
Fixxer is good, it reminds me of my tripping days.
Fixxxer...three x’s for the stone. It is a Marie Laveau reference.
I was there. Best concert of my life!
Countryallica is so underrated as f*ck. Sori and Vin. You must listen to 2x4, The Outlaw Torn, Bleeding Me, Cure, Fuel, Carpe Diem Baby and the most underrated song Low Man's Lyric
LPwithManu I agree. Load is SO GOOD. The Outlaw Torn is I think one of their most underrated songs.
This is my favorite album by Metallica and this song is my favorite on the album. Outlaw Torn is my next favorite. Love your reaction!
The thing about James and his parents, is that his dad left when he was 13, and his mom died when he was 16. If I remember right, he didn't see his dad again until his 30's, and he showed up at a Metallica show.
So many hardcore Metallica fans hated on this album. If I were not open to a band adding to/modifying their music for a special performance, I would have joined them.
The orchestra adds a whole new dimension to the music.. and I think it worked out very well in most cases. This entire album/concert is amazing. I occasionally throw this on at work while going through the Metallica rotation.
Peace
Honestly, I was never in love with this album. I love orchestral music... I love metal... and Metallica... I just didn't love the arrangements in this case; I didn't feel it meshed as well as it could have. I know plenty of people love it, so I'll let them enjoy it. heh
Love reaction from Sori,,,,yeaaah
When James says "mama" at the very end. 😢
What he wouldn't have done to have helped his mom and to still have her here. He was a helpless 16 year-old.
His dad left his family when he was 13, to be not heard from again until several years after his mom's death.
Whenever I May Roam this concert version is the best!
I would really want to see a reaction to that from the S&M album. They didn't like the studio version to much... maybe the orchestra would change that :)
Been hangin out for an S&M track!
IMO the best tracks from that album are:
The Call of Ktulu
The Outlaw Torn
Bleeding Me
Master of Puppets
The higher you are,
The farther you fall.
The longer the walk,
The farther you crawl.
My body, this temple.
This temple it tilts.
Yes this is the house that Jack built!
Bleeding Me from the same concert!!
I was there..one of the best metallica shows ever💯🤘🏼🤘🏼
And now they announced doing another show withe the san Francisco Philharmonic orchestra in September
they did a whole album from this . . . and it was fantastic. . now not every song is a big hit but overall the whole idea was brilliant
This song/ WHOLE album is amazing without the symphony support but with the symphony wow!! So amazing!! It took me a bit to warm up to load and reload. I’m an original fan born 70’s so these records are different from the earlier Metallica but they have a big place in my heart ❤️ 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Love that concert, best album I own.
as a Metallica FAN since 1983..yes I am aged..this song still moves me every single time..proof that moving past those 1st 4 amazing albums could be done..this song and LOAD are killer...\m/ you need to listen to BLEEDING ME&THE THORN WITHIN..off of load..nothing COUNTRYTALLICA about those 2 songs...LISTEN TO THEM..
Man, Metallica got me through some pretty f-ed up times as a teen , absolutely love them - Lisa
Hey guys. S&M was an amazing album and video. The conductor of the orchestra actually approached Metallica about doing this concert. He wrote and composed all the orchestra's music. Members of the orchestra were reported to say this is the hardest they've worked in their career. And they did not rehearse together with the band before the show. All of us fans would love to see your reactions to more songs from this concert. Here's a complete track list:
1. "The Ecstasy of Gold"
2. "The Call of Ktulu"
3. "Master of Puppets"
4. "Of Wolf and Man"
5. "The Thing That Should Not Be"
6. "Fuel"
7. "The Memory Remains"
8. "No Leaf Clover" - This song is not on any other Metallica album. It's exclusive to this concert.
9. "Hero of the Day"
10. "Devil's Dance"
11. "Bleeding Me"
12. "Nothing Else Matters"
13. "Until It Sleeps"
14. "For Whom the Bell Tolls"
15. "Minus Human"
16. "Wherever I May Roam"
17. "The Outlaw Torn"
18. "Sad but True"
19. "One"
20. "Enter Sandman"
21. "Battery"
This song and Bleeding Me are my favorite ones from the Load album
This song was written just after he became a father and that is why there is a lot of themes in Load and Reload that deal with parents and the world children are born into .
New viewer. New Subscriber. Love ya guys!
Outlaw Torn please! More Load in general is welcome too!
Also, totally didn't expect Vin to like this song.
Dude load is so underrated. Bleeding me. Outlaw torn. Mama said. Hero of the day
Great reaction as always guys!! Ya'll should check out Mama Said off this album. It's also a slow melodic song that kinda is countryish but it's a very emotional a beautiful song just as much. You'll love it
I'm an old school Met fan, still this is one of the best songs ever.
Opeth's The Night and the Silent Water is about the death of Mikael's grandfather and is very heartfelt too.
3:53, 5:25, 6:01... Jason Newsted--we went to high school together and he made a huge impact on my life (long before he was famous).
Anathema: internal landscapes
Hurt: house carpenter
Devin townsend project: the death of music
Sporcupine tree: arriving somewhere but not here
Soen: savia
Hypocrisy: departure
Opeth: the grand conjuration
Steven Wilson: the raven that refused to sing
Check out
1. Obscura - Mortification Of The Vulgar Sun
2. Thank You, Scientist - My Famed Disappearing Act
3. Protest The Hero - Clarity
4. Every Time I Die - Wanderlust or Map Changes
5. Rivers Of Nihil - A Silent Life
Any of these would be great
FANTASTIC!!!!
Crazy to think that in little over 2 years from now Metallica will turn 40 year's as a band. James dad ditched him and his siblings years before the mother died.
Please react to MAMA SAID pleeeeaaase! And bring your tissue as well lol 🤘🏼🤘🏼
This album was 50 bucks when it came out on double CD and I bought the fucken thing lol...well worth it and glad your discovering this chaos!
God this concert is legendary
I really enjoyed this live version. It’s always hit or miss with live stuff. I wouldn’t say this is my favorite Metallica song, but I do love it. It’s not the typical Metallica song so I think it’s been underrated by some fans who only like the really heavy stuff. This song is better than anything on the Black album, imo.
Greatest Metallica performance ever...I love this album
That whole album is fkn awesome.
Pantera- “The Underground In America”/“Sandblasted Skin”
(React to as one song)
