This entire concert is a must-see for every MUSIC fan! It's not a concert, it's an experience. Wouldn't mind you doing an entire concert for a reaction video. Just saying ;)
FINALLY! My favourite Metallica song! Lyrics are about domestic abuse. When I hear it I interpret the lyrics differently as a day that never comes for me personally. Great song!!
LOVE this song! Probably my favorite "new" Metallica song. The studio version and official video are fantastic, so I would have started there, then gone live.
This live and this recording are awesome, and it takes place in "Les arênes de Nîmes" which is an ancient roman theater in France. So it adds so much to the scenery and the atmosphere.
Why is this song so underrated? :D This is one of the best songs i've heard in my entire life! It reminds me of "Guilty all the same" from Linkin Park - it has so much charisma and energy and i love this song so much! Metallica forever! ;D
Reaction is 99% about the lyrics, 1% about the music (sounds) deep feelings, transitions, hauting intro, solo battle, progression, angry in the tones, etc
Yeah thats whats wrong with this channel at the end of the song they talk about how good the band sound for about a good 3 minutes then after that, the rest of the video is basically just them over analyzing the lyrics
My 15 month old Grandson loves Metallica loves this song and sings/Hums it also. His Fav is Orion. My wife and I made him a Metallica battle jacket for Christmas. He says Tallica pumps his fist.
Haven't listen Metallica after I lost 2 very close friends in a traffic accident 2011. Every time I hear a Metallica song, words that 4 of us promised comes to haunt me & friend. :)
This is my first song when I first try listening to metal and thanks to it Metallica became daily in my life and this song is my favourite of all time oof like from the lyrics, music the feel and all just oof Thank you so much for reacting and feel it (:
even if im wrong i often interpret this song as from a perspective of someone who gets bullied and thinks that someday he will get revenge but he never will, he will just get pushed and beaten up every time without getting revenge.
Haha, awesome. I was just searchIng your channel for metallica reactions last night. Ive watched them all and seen that you’s haven’t done one for a while.
The middle finger salute is a nod to metallica's veteran fans. When the boys played local gigs, they would finish their set and the next band would start playing. The entire crowd would turn around and flip the following band off, expressing they're not there for them.
26:45 reminded me of: "Strange, the way beauty can hurt the unopened eye, much more than all the filth and pain that we're soaked in, ever could" if you know there's beauty out there, and you can experience it, it can hurt more than the suffering you're going through.

If you have the HBO Now app, watch the Paradise Lost trilogy. Not only is it a brilliant documentary series, but this song was saved for the big moment when the West Memphis 3 walked outside as free men.
This concert was in Nimes not too far from where I live in southern France. I was supposed to go there but ultimately couldn't. I can't believe it's already been a decade since then.
You guys need to react to some of their latest tour live videos in Europe - It was Nuts!!! Especially the Manchester or Berlin ones as it was in the pouring rain!
The thing with "Love is a 4 letter word" lyric. In some prisons they have notifications posted that certain four letter words can not be spoken. The curse words are listed and "love" is listed below them. It a method used to make sure prisoners aren't happy at any point
I mean the sound quality is so good because you’re hearing a soundboard recording that’s been mixed. It’s not like you’re hearing the song being picked up by camera mics.
True, but virtually all bands do that for live albums/dvd's. They will eliminate noise (extra strings being hit accidentally, etc) and bring the different instruments up to the same levels. The only live album I know of that didn't is Kansas - Two For The Show. Kansas is proud of the fact that it wasn't edited, what you hear came straight off the recording truck tapes without being mixed. I'm sure there are others, but that's the only live album I know of that did that.
@Kristine Rose I've only seen Metallica twice. In '85 and in '89. They indeed did have a really good mix both times. For me though, the best-sounding bands I've seen are Marillion (incredibly lush sound), Porcupine Tree (yes, they really sound like their concert dvds live), and Blind Guardian.
Metallica give all ticket holders a live MP3 copy of the concert they visited within a few weeks. It is a MIC recording. 2017 Manchester on my son's birthday we hear some folks VERY close to the mike going mental. This might be soundboard but the REAL mp3 sounds pretty close tbh
@Kristine Rose Toto were the same - it shocked me. Certain bands just have amazing audio gurus :) Never saw PF - not a fan but I expected they would have a top audio engineer.
Jason didn't leave bcuz of hazing, he left bcuz he wanted to do side projects but James opposed it. In addition, Metallica was experiencing the peak of its inner struggle with drugs, fame, interpersonal relationships etc, and he didn't agree with the ways the other band members tried to remedy the situation
Really hard to believe that was 2008 already, i remember when that album hit it was their big "redemption" after st anger and they really killed it bringing back their "old" sound

The song is actually about Kirk Hammett's upbringing .. he's spoken to the guys about his abusive father towards himself, his siblings and mother .
Taking a guess that the solo is his dad and him arguing.......kid and a man fighting
Wow that brings a whole new perspective to this song
Love this song too🤟
that shot of james playing the intro is very cool.
This song is a masterpiece like ONE and MOP. Love this song🤟
