That was a great edit of catching a big tasty kingfish, all those great camera angles making this look like a great promo for a tv series. Thumbs up if you agree 👍🏾
Cheers Mike. Was so much fun capturing all these shots, haha. Lucky that we had the drone up in that moment the kingie was on, eh And the smoked belly flaps were just so tasty. You're a wizard smoking on that weber. I got some Hickory wood chips the other day and tried smoking a piece of that kingfish on my gas weber baby q and it was't even half as tasty as yours.
@@Fishingreminder I'm smoking up a whole snapper at the moment on the big weber and it's raining and windy under the lemon tree for Smoked Snapper Sunday 🤦🏽♂ 😀
Awesome mate, that was such a good day, eh. You guys were doing really good as well. It was nice meeting you out there. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment, much appreciated.
Omgggggg!!!!! Absolutely SPECTACULAR FISHING & FILMING. Can't believe 혜신 managed a 20kg Kingi!! I think that beats 큐진's by about ~1.5kg ㅋㅋ and my biggest by 4kg 🤣😭. Since I've been overseas, I delayed watching this until I had some time to really sit down and watch it properly. Honestly I was smiling and pissing myself laughing on the plane. A great video, Tu Meke/ka pai to Weka Digital for showing you the old school ways of a handline we used to catch bronzewhaler sharks off Mangonui wharf that way when we were teenagers. And you even topped it off by managing to have the drone in the air when it happend ya tinass😅. Great vid team and well done *혜신 Might go watch some Weka digital vids now!
Thanks 🙏🏼 it was a great experience! We seem like we catch kingfish when we do collaboration with others. One day we can do it together as well! Good that you can type Korean! Awesome! 혜신 😂
Cheers Dave, yeah on that day everything just came together, haha. We were lucky with the fishing and the filming. Thanks for the nice feedback. Wekas version of this day is also outstanding. A bronzie on a handline might be a good idea for our next collab, haha :)
@Fishingreminder epic yea man let's make it happen haha, you put in the effort tho so good when it pays off eh. Yep I've downloaded Weka's version for next flight haha!
far out haha that was epic to watch. i remember mic's last video on the kingfish handline was 10 years ago. great to see it in action again. miss landing kingfish already haha
Cheers Peter :) Yeah catches like this don't happen every day, eh. All the conditions were just right on that day and we had a good dose of luck as well, haha.
The most beautiful thing for me in this video was watching a Maori, a German and a Korean having an unforgettable time together in the middle of nowhere!
Great catch brother, i know you were successful but people get a better hook up rate with the hook facing forward, as the kingi takes the kahawai head first. Great video thanks
thanks man, yeah that's a great tip. Usually we insert the hook facing forwards, ( with the tip pointing towards the tail of the bait fish ). But we were probably too excited in this moment as the fishing was so crazy, haha. But yeah fish will always try to swallow the live bait head first.

Amazing fish, well done Hyeshin, now you can have a break from that yucky trout haha.
haha, you really are not a big fan of eating trout, eh 😂😂😂 not much can't top a nice fatty kingfish steak though, yum
Come on~ Trout and kingfish taste exactly same once they are smoked.😁

Good on you bro for being brave an eating the eye, it's not easy at first x
cheers :) haha, yeah especially if the eye is still half raw, eh :):)
What type of line/rope is that mainline, really nice kingfish haven't caught anything like that before, cheers
It was just a cheap braided rope from mitre10 I think.
