    I have 3 problems with the 992:
    1. Mainly digital instruments
    2. The light bar (should have kept it for the Carrera 4 models since they changed it for the aircooled after the 993)
    3. exhaust pipes integrated in the dampers; especially with the plastic around

    3:05 Having physical buttons is not a small gripe.
    Touch screens are the MAIN reason i do not consider purchasing a "new" vehicle. The necessity of my eyes to use a touch screen is far too great for me to consider it a viable option for safe travel.

    • @rlsjunior797
      @rlsjunior797 5 лет назад +4

      It still has buttons and knobs for climate control and volume adjustment, just not drive mode...........so if your concern is safety, only change the drive mode at a stoplight. What are you gonna do? Drive a 1997 Buick Century for the rest of your life?

      And thats why i like BMW these days.
      They have a good balance.

      Not cluttered and still the superior function, convenience and safety of physical buttons.

    • @vorrzaaa
      @vorrzaaa 5 лет назад

      By the way i agree with you.
      The worst piece of crap out there is the range rover velar.
      It's slow, its not intuitive, therefore obviously less/not safe. Greasy finger prints galore
      That thing is the best example of everything wrong with the overblown touch screen trend im afraid we will have to live with, dont think its going away.
      But that car actually pisses me off.

  • @FederalNetwork

    • @cvn6555
      @cvn6555 5 лет назад

    • @EpicB
      @EpicB 5 лет назад +2

      I bet the actual 0-60 times for the Carrera S will be closer to 3 flat, maybe even into the high 2s. The 991.2 Carrera GTS can pull off 3 flat with the PDK and it has about the same power as the 992 Carrera S. The 997.2 Turbo could hit 60 in 2.9 with the PDK, so that's something.

      Can Tavukçuoğlu - The turbos are a big thing for me though. They aren’t better for fuel economy or the environment. They are only better than NA cars on a dyno and operating under perfect conditions.
      Plus, having them on the mainstream 911’s take away the awe around the Turbo, Turbo S and GT2.

Also, at a visit to Santa Pod, I came up against my mate in his manual. We decided the fairest way for me to do my run was to use the central shifter. Not only did I beat him, but I recorded my personal best time out of my 12 runs! Faster than the paddles and faster the fully automatic. Great video, Henry. Plenty to digest - thank you.

    Bad move with the shifter, it’s far easier to use a stick in tight corners than the paddles because they move with wheel position.

    • @bisterkding9249
      @bisterkding9249 5 лет назад +1

      Not only that, but using paddles constantly gets tiring. It's great for track days, but on the back roads you sometimes just want to lean back and keep one hand on the wheel while resting the other on the shifter. What a shame.

    I think it’s lovely. I drove a 981 cayman GTS for about 200 miles yesterday, that car in sport plus with the rev matching and sports exhaust is epic, saying that, in sport you can match the revs yourself. I think they’ve made a mistake here on the 992 not leaving the proper lever in for the PDK. Any performance car I’ve owner that was an automatic I’ve always enjoyed thrashing the lever back and forth even if it’s not the same as a manual it harks back to that either way. Good to know that there will be a manual. Also on the design front I think it looks really nice and will grow on me even more. Really great looking car.

      @CraigBickerstaff 5 лет назад +2

      I think if you compare all the designs of the 911 side by side there is much more stylistic development than people realise. I think people just have the image of a 911 in their minds and it looks like whatever the latest 911 looks like so they miss all of the little details which are changed.

    • @Alby911
      @Alby911 5 лет назад +1
