    Is the new face gasket glasses friendly? I have astigmatism so I can't use the diopters and don't want to use inserts. My glasses easily fit within my Quest 3 (140x40mm). Thanks.

    will the delux kit be compatible wit hthe face tracker and does it have more space for the nose? Also, is the delux kit available seperately? will we get any third party accessories like this?

    Interesting bit of kit. I wonder what the 'side gaurds' are for? 🤔 Also, the new gasket looks way more comfy and like it will apply even pressure on the face.

      @@HTCVive The Pico 4 has a res of 2042x2042 per eye and blows Elite XR's picture quality out of the water for £350. The 1920x1920 per eye res on Elite XR looks dated and extremely grainy. The valve Index with its slightly lower res of 1920x1600 per eye has better color stauration and results in a better experience over Elite XR and that is old tech. You guy's should have invested in better optics and panels. You missed your opportunity , I really hope you can update the panels and optics to compete with Q3 a , Pico 4 and Big screen beyond. I absolutely love the style , balance and customisation of Elite XR - I hope you can update it and have a version 2.0 or something.

      @@SIM_STA710N What are you talking about? Every headset in this ballpark of resolution is virtually indistinguishable from each other. It's a perfectly standard resolution. Passthrough also looks the same on XRE, Pico, and Quest 3. Do you mean the streaming picture quality? They fixed that months ago. Index is 1440 by 1600 resolution, way lower than XRE, and noticeably so. Pico also doesn't exist in some major markets like USA, which makes it irrelevant to those consumers.

    • @SIM_STA710N

      @@cheapcrackers4772 I take it you haven't tried the PICO4 and then tried the XR elite straight after . When you do you'll see the Pico 4 running standalone RUclips watching a 4k hi res video looks far sharper , clearer and superior for a 3rd of the price. It's night and day. If you think that a Pico 4 and XR Elite are indistinguishable then you need your eyes checked. I know the index has a lower res and that's my point , The Index picture looks better than the Elite . Not my fault if you can't get hold of the Pico 4 , even if you imported one it would still cost way less than the Elite and it's way better. You are the one who makes the Pico irrelevant. I'm not digging you out , you won't know till you try.

    OLED? wide FOV? or is it the same narrow, grey, muddy LCD crap that we've seen from every headset for the last decade? Just checked. Yup muddy LCDs with poor color and black levels, narrow FOV.. skipping it. still waiting for a better headset than my 80 dollar Quest ONE which has OLED..

      The XRE is standalone (and can be tethered to PC wired or wirelessly). Now, the price on the other hand... Yeah, I can't defend HTC on that 😂 it is rather steep for the offered tech, in my opinion.

    • @DaveGX
      @DaveGX 3 месяца назад

      They gave several headsets now I'm not even sure which is which anymore and best solution. A lot of reputable IPs. either barely or don't directly support VR..... Like MechWarrior 5 would be great//OK/decent for it had I gotten a much earlier start, too many expansions and management contents. Clans is likely still in the works but might also be another expansion, but possibly standalone, I'm confused on that 1.....
      But yeah, if. I could afford 1 that's its own setup would be nice. $ony and their developers are slow with quality PSVR(2) titles.

    •  3 месяца назад

      @@DaveGX I get ya. In the regard of Devs not porting their games to certain headsets; that can be attributed to the VR market still, technically, being in infancy compared to established consoles like Sony, MS and Nintendo.
      Among all the VR headsets out there, everyone is trying to do 'their thing' in the hopes that something sticks and becomes 'the go-to standard'. I'd say Oculus is closest to achieving this with Valve being a close 2nd.
      To answer your question, with Vive, the XRE is their latest standalone offering. There's the Focus 3 but that's more business orientated than common consumer (and cost more).
      Then You've the option of their regular Vive Pro w/ wireless adapter, However, that's PCVR only which still requires a PCVR set-up (if you don't already have an existing setup $$$$)

    I bought this used for about 400 dollars and it's the single worst piece of technology that I have ever used, and I have used many Vive products before too.
    The thing does not charge and dies when connected to a pc, the wireless streaming apps never work even with wifi 6E and ethernet, it's terrible in low light, and the gasket for the face tracker is made of hard plastic that leaves a mark on my face.
    I think im gonna sell this thing before it's too late and go back to using my Vive cosmos elite, I only bought this for the full face tracking and i think i'm just gonna buy a quest pro or pico 4 pro instead
    What a complete joke of a headset. I wasted all those hours setting up my avatars with face tracking for nothing

    • @cheapcrackers4772
      @cheapcrackers4772 2 месяца назад

      First batch headsets were pretty bad, I also had one. This is just one of those headsets you can't really buy used, because the defective initial batch makes up most of the used market. The "dies when connected to a PC" happens on any headset. It's the fault of the port not the device, normal USB C ports on PC don't output much power at all, you'd need a thunderbolt port.
