    I am from kashmir my village is aprox 7800 feet above sea level with alot of steep roads & i have purchased jimny 2 months back and trust me it rolls effortlessly with 4 adult passenger's & 2 kids 😋 (hum khate-petey ghar se hai) i.e i am 105kg my dad 130kg + my mom & my other half both on heavier side. With all load my jimny never felt lazy or breathless. Its drive is smoth in muddy or snowy roads who wants to race on hills, i am very satisfied with it...

    I bought Jimmy Jan 10th Alpha manual...i never felt under power...it's adequate for the size of the vehicle....it's very mature product...am loving it ❤

    I just booked this car and tested it repeatedly for almost a month in both MT and AT modes ..test drove Thar also - now sure why PPL r saying this is underpowered - I mean u can easily cruise at 100 or 110 in this car - it is extremely practical - easily a daily drive and a mountain goat for me ...small family can easily fit ...Thar on the otherhand has a bigger engine but extremely unpractical - too end does not even give a rear camera, getting off the back seat is a task....getting is another

    Yes sir it is underpowered but I live in hilly areas power is adequate for hilly areas and people are preferring Jimny over thar anyday due to practical size. But there are also few of my friends who are not buying Jimny only bcoz of looks of Thar.
    Many people like to showoff and spend 16 lacs on a car which is bigger to look.

    The fact that the Mahindra owner comparing his Thar gear box to Audii speaks volumes of the quality and reliability of the brand these days. All the credit goes to the Korean manufacturer SsangYong without which Mahindra would have never reached this stage.

      Torque converter be it in a maruti or mahindra or an audi are the best kind of gearboxes reliability and shift wise…all the credit to mahindra for using it but let us not make it more than what it is.

    In a country that wants suvs not for the utility they have but rather for their on road presence that equates it to the feeling of achievement and pride Jimny was bound to fail at any price it would have been launched…it sounds harsh but it is the reason why utter pointless cars like the Thar RWD exists in India…back in 2015-16 gypsy used to cost around 8-8.5 lakh rupees on road…almost 10 years down the line we got the Jimny with everything that the gypsy had plus the bits to make it more modern and fare in the tech hungry world…it was impossible to price it the way all the youtubers were hyping it to be…Further 10 years down the line it when we will no longer have it in India perhaps we will realise what the car offered us..Its sad to see a car being mocked for being small although ironically it has much better space management than the bulky Thar…There will always be a community for 4*4 buyers who will buy it for what it is…whenever i get to drive a Jimny the owner is always throwing mechanical jargons and stuff about it and that is the thing…you have to understand such an unusual car to be able to appreciate it… but they are few in numbers and that is all the sales Jimny can hope for…I am glad we got to see the Jimny in India…It’s a kei off roader and it should not change for anything else…truth be told we are not enthusiasts market…I am not blaming any Brezza or Grand vitara and similar car owner but simply the people who compare it a tata magic and mock it for its maruti tag…Its one of the best off roaders India got including the likes of Thar Gypsy Hilux. Price for price i would go as far as to claim the jimny best off-roader India got.But sadly the Jimny is dead.

    Hello sir, I recently bought skoda slavia 1.0 automatic but the up shifting is too late around 2200Rpm. So is there any concerns about it ??

    Loving my jimny in all aspects except for the 4 speed at.... Hope it has a six speed for better fuel mileage.... I am getting 15-17kmpl on highways while maintaining 80kph

    I have been using gypsy since 2018 and Jimny since June 2023 . No problem with power . The latest I have taken Jimny for Snow drive and it performed amazingly..No issues with power in the hills . Highway mileage 16.5 to 17 on highways . The best advantage of a jimny like gypsy is its light weight. True offroad enthusiasts will any day go for Jimny..

    Paji, under powered nahi he, its just that you have to rev this engine hard to use its power, and trust me this engine is meant to rev hard. I searched/ studied enough online and as per all the international offroad enthusiasts this is byfar the best product.

    Reads less gear shift, driving is very nice, comfortable too, great SUV, the more you drive, the better you will get, gear shifting is very smooth after 5000 km, great work jimny

      @@ashutosh0015 for 100 to 150 kilometres travel, this is fine..
      For rare, long distance travel it is Ok .
      But frequent long distance travel, u can't plan..
      Speeds @80-100 km/hr, it feels good.
      No good feel of steering, post 100 km/hr..

    Aisin the Japanese transmission manufacturer provides transmission to various Automobile manufacturer Including VAG, Toyota, Mahindra as well as Suzuki, The reason why Mahindra's new TC gearbox is so good because it's an Aisin!
    the 4 speed gearbox that Suzuki is offering is an old gearbox and it's also sourced from Aisin.

    Good analysis by both of you. One more reason for thar having more sales than jimny is the sheer road presence and hype. Thar has a lot of aspirational value and is a status symbol for the youth, which is big time lacking in the jimny. Another factor in the favor of thar is having a very huge aftermarket support in terms of cosmetic, electrical and off roadaccessories. One can modify their thar however they want it to be and make it a much much capable off-roader, which is not as much possible with it's competitor. Jimmy is definitely a very capable car and had decent power for it's use case.

    Sunderdeep bhaiya please suggest me one thing. I came across various review on Team BHP and various other pages and many of them suggest to change gear oil in VW POLO 1.2 MPI after 1 Lakh km even some of them suggest to change gear oil after 50k Km and when i called VW service station they told me that sir you dont need to change gear in VW polo and our gear oil is life long you dont need to worry. But in my opinion as well nothing is life long and every thing has some life. what will you suggest

    I have an argument to put forward for discussion and may be you can make detailed video on this one. Why almost all brands do cost cutting while launching product in India?
    A) Is it because to achieve localisation they don't find that quality of material with Indian Suppliers
    B) Is it to increase the profit margin; they purposely choose to go for a substitute material and still charge premium in the name of snob value
    For Example in the case VW/Skoda at 22 lacs costing they could offer gas based shockers instead of oil based which will further significantly improve the ride; offering in headlight performance; or plastic grade used especially in areas like AC vents ... so such cost cutting kind of deplete the brands identity/appeal

    Fantastic Duo Review on Maruti Jimny.
    To be honest with you both less than 10% are interested in fun to drive Cars. Rest are all interested in functional, practical & economical driving experiences.
    For the above driving dynamics hardly matters because their use mostly for City Commuting & there are no chances of pushing their Cars to extreme limits. Hence they are satisfied with what is offered in their price range or budget. Since they also offer no nonsense ownership & good Service Stn Network.
    That's the reason why Maruti, Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra's.... are making big Sales nos.

      Things are changing on ground Rajoo ji, 60% customers don’t know what they are buying and they repent later. I first hand know 3 big youtubers with over 1M followers (2 political journalists & 1 fitness) who are my friends on Twitter and purchased Polo GTI (used), Virtus GT and Octavia VRS after watching our videos. Once each buyer would understand things fully, numbers would change drastically.

      ​@@SunderdeepSingh I think rajoo ji is somewhere correct i took my dad 3 time's for test drive of kushaq, virtus, TAIGUN . i loved all those session but back in his mind/heart he is towards ELEVATE .. be it for size of car, boonnet front view, or GOOD offer's by Vw but still he is still liking ELEVATE . at last I took my defeat for convincing him for VAG CAR's can't change my father's mind .

      What buyers fears the most is Cost of Maintenance, Quality After Sales Services & Service Stns Network.
      Buyers are well aware of the options available but does not have big Trust & Confidence on brands & Cars which are not visible in big nos. on Indian Roads.
      VW-Skoda history of high costs of Spares & Labour charges by Service Stn is haunting Indian buyers.
      Maruti, Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra..... are brands which have established after a long time.

    14 L OTR is a great price. Suzuki did a grave pricing and marketing error initially. If I got the auto for 14-15 L otr in my state, I'd have simply bought this as a second car and maintained my old car. The Suzuki price cut came some 2 months after I had made my last purchase of the Kushaq!

    the stiff suspension and hence the comfort-related problem of Thar can be resolved with aftermarket available solutions like a lift kit and diff struts/shocker but the problem of Jimny (underpowered) can't be solved.
    And rear seat issue will be solved soon with a 5-door version. Thar is a better product overall you can't deny that.
    Regarding those fender lining (plastic wheel arches), we recently got it in 700 INR for Ciaz. Underbody protection is a serious miss by Maruti. I love maruti for what they are and it is safe to say that even experts can fail sometimes in market research. maybe they had some internal constraints.

      You can power up jimny by a throttle controller and a supercharger kit in the aftermarket but i think for its weight the power it gives is good enough from factory.

      Too much work and not reliable enough.
      The additional prices for that mod will get you top model of Thar anyway. Nobody will go for it. People who are willing do supercharger related mod won't ever settle for some odd 100hp car. The hike won't justify the efforts.
      tuning NA engine is not going to give enough output as expected. Not only its engine but its engine-gearbox combo is what letting it down. It's barely adequate for Highway.
      On the other hand, Suspension mod are comparatively easy, reliable and cheap.

      you just need a throttle controller and a stage 1 tune…lot of my known peers have done it…it performs better than the thar now across the range…total cost would be not even cross 25k….you can expect fuel efficiency to drop by 1 to 1.5 km per Litre unless you open the intake and bypass the exhaust which would cost another 10k or so but you will lose the refinement of the engine…i think you should drive the vehicle stand alone for a good long..often the judgement is too quick to come before we actually adapt to the car…the motor is fairly adequate for a sedate driver…i was driving nexon petrol regularly and jimny has a better low end and top end…i did not feel out of place in the car…not that nexon 1.2 turbo is a fast car or a great engine but it was on par in its highway speed building capacity…it is only after 80/90 you feel the car has now started to struggle climbing speeds…it is a comfortable cruiser and can cruise all day long at fairly good sppeds no issue. And thar is a gem of a product no doubt but better? No…the thar 3 doors pain is felt when you stop showing off and take it off the road…there are small things that have caused us to leave the car as such on a trail helpless…the thar needs improvement…and then if it happens to be the only car you have and have a family ro move around…it gets even trickier…thar sells for its form factor…the appeal…it is not because of being a better package or a better off roader…hopefully they solve a lot of thing in the 5 door but then again it will be quiet a lot expenive than the jimny or the 3 door..it will be a scorpion n alternate costing 25/26 lakhs as per the prices we see these days

      It's platine I guess, it will most probably have 80k km service which will cost 22-25k (timing belt,tensioner etc) try to have service record if no service record is provided just take it to service centre and get a general service done (8k)+ deisel filter replacement (3.5k).....try to have it serviced in ASC it costs 8k(on odd 10k km) and 12k(on even 10k km) timming belt and tensioner replacement takes place in 80k km intervals.....overall good specially in 4L range....

    Bhai ji you left one big factor. It's milage nearly double the Thar petrol. I am using it as family car and only car. You can use Thar as secondary car n as primary car it will be less practical. Rest is everyone's choice.

    The AT on Thar is made by Aisin (Japanese company partly owned by Toyota)
    That's why the shift quality is great

    Loved this video.
    I have a suggestion. While reviewing cars make some parts while driving the car. for example, you can show how slow is pickup above 80Kmph in this car. how the 4-speed gearbox takes the car to high rpm before shifts etc. I hope you will consider it.

    Imo the biggest reason of low sale is more to do with sentiments of indian buyers example regual balero still sells no matter what same with wagon r and cars like fiat abhat failed jimny may be the smart choice but its a niche vehicle where as thar has desi cult foĺlowing ,old gurkha never ever came close to old thar same with the new one if power was in question . comparing power of jimny with thar is apple to oranges the gentelman said cudnot touch 100 but then the tyre is 4 size up then the oem and also aftermarket alloys on stock tyre i have driven my jimny at 120kmph easily for 30-40 km on expresway

    Owning a Jimny since 6 months i have understood , a petrol suv is better with a NA engine because turbo petrols have overheating problems, 4speed TC is a 30 year old gearbox for Jimny and Old Grand Vitara which is a solid reliable gearbox. Moreover the solid axle setup makes jimny a reliable and a more capable car.
    Coming to technicality, thar comes with an Independent Suspension which makes it a 4x4 suv and not a jeep, because a jeep must have solid axles to be consisdered as a jeep. That owners are least concerned about these facts. They are happy to be misled by Mahindra calling it a Jeep.
    There’s a reason why Suzuki went sith the old setup and not newer engines and gearbox, because they have kept reliablity in mind which is must for jeep owners as they are mostly roaming around in such areas where you need something tried and tested.

    you need to be a pahadi or spend a few years in a hilly area to know the true capabilities of a mahindra car.. jimmny is a decent product for a selective set of customers but please dont compare it with thar.. having said this i would iterate that neither of these cars is a family car and both are best suited for 2 passengers for a long journey.. while thar lacks space , jimmny lacks power. and dont expect comfort from a true suv.. suvs arent meant for comfort. a 4x4 thar is almost a perfect suv .. while jimmny has en edge because of its light weight but then maruti cars starts producing rattling sound within few months of use on a hilly area. wish there was a turbo engine 132 nm torque for a 4X4 vehicle is too less..

    Ek to gaadi underpowered or fat tyres dlwa kr log or engine pr pressure daal rhe
    And also that is available in RWD so sales wise it is always going to higher than jimny, majority of people buy thar to just show off.
    And jimny is a bit overpriced as well

    Thar is just now showoff, 90% Ne kadi offroad kiti hi nahi honi.
    Jimny engine is DUD, jaan hi nahi, overtake karna is like WAR. Like year 2012 car
    My Octavia 250BHP and Nline feels like ROLLS ROYCE

    Bro…u asking for 1 litre turbo for jimny?!!! Bro , jimny is more an off road tool- what wud a high revving 1litre 3 cylinder turbo will do in a jimny with torque converter, and transfer case ? ? U shud b foolish and a dreamer at the same time. .

We shud feel lucky , that atleast we are able to get a global spec suzuki , which is not toned down for Indian market, otherwise can u ever think we get a headlight washer in india spec model.Or strong build or good damping compared to other suki cars in india ? Abroad, they have to wait 10 -15 months to get 5 door jimny. What im trying to say is, for suzuki , it doesn’t matter if it getting sold in India or not, coz its a global hit with huge waiting periods and more price than india eveywhere. We in india , are looking at jimny as any other car, or compare with any other car in same price range, where as abroad its seen as a tool/ cult/ fun . Only enthusiasts, or people with purpose goes behind it. So suki wont make their heritage tru blood 4wd with this much long history , into a 2wd. Just for the sake of selling few more units in India, or just to cater Indian market. Thar on the other hand, sells wholly on its looks that it copied from jeep. 70% of people who buys thar , buys it for its jeep knock off looks. So, 2wd at with a petrol turbo works in that case. But in case of jimny. - the global scenario is entirely different.
