For anyone who has recently come to this video: this isn't real. It's a commercial that was shot late at night for Gilette Fusion razors. The news chyron at the bottom of the screen displays no network logos of any kind. Despite the fact that there is allegedly batting practice happening in the background, there's no cage set up around home plate. There are also no coaches anywhere hitting fungos to the fielders, no music being played over the PA system, and the reporter is standing way too close to the field. And if you watch closely the batter and pitcher don't even pause to look at where that foul ball was hit and carry on as though nothing had happened.
If you run it slow you actually see the straight hit with the ball heading out to mid field then a second ball magically appears to curve around toward the camera.

As long as he gets his head turned the right direction in time, there's a high chance he catches the ball because... that's his job, throwing and catching the ball all day long.
