Thanks for the positive feedback!
Just what I needed. I found one of these in a kitchen I share and did not know how to use it. Now I am impressed and loving this gadget.
I was released from prison after 44 years and was given a vegetable steamer. Had it not been for you Tube, I wouldn't have known how to open it up. LOL!
this is going to change the game.. good review
Thank you. I have the same steamer. Had no idea you are meant to open the legs like that.
Thanks man! good review :D
Gotta love the ove glove ❤️

Where can I buy this and how much is this steamer?
Great video!! My only question is, what were you cooking? Looks like dumplings? Whatever it is, it looks delicious and made me hungry 😊
Steamed roast pork buns 😋

The Ikea one does not have any plastic parts
I'm back and forth on that. On the one hand I don't generlaly like my food to touch hot plastic. But on the other, the silicone feet on the base of this steamer helps prevent scratches on my non-stick cookware. If only the handle in the middle weren't plastic, but I could still find one with silicone feet!
So you're telling me that the rubber on the feet marinating and boiling water as it's steaming the vegetables isn't going to release toxic fumes into the food,???? I can't be safe
It's food grade high-temp silicone, so you can do the research on that yourself but here are a few of its properties: silicone is a non-toxic polymer mostly made from silica (sand); unlike plastics, silicone is considered chemically stable does not have a melting point and remains solid until combustion occurs at temperatures ranging from 200 - 450°C (400 - 900°F) which is why you'll find a lot of silicone baking products that can withstand the high temperatures of ovens. Since boiling water maintains it's temp at 212°F the heat from it won't alter the molecular structure of the silicone or cause it to break down or release fumes. If anything, I would be more concerned about the plastic handle degrading than the rubber.
