✔ DiResta Hammer Hook & Loop

- I do not like to use a tool belt. When I am at a job site find my self looking for my hammer every few minutes. Few years ago I screwed a tape measure clip to a wood hammer handle it worked prefect. And it keeps the hammer in the position you need to be in as you grab it while on the top of a ladder. In this video I mod a brand new 20 oz. steel Eswing with belt hook and a loop. The clip does not interfere with my grip! Please Comment, Subscribe, Like and Enjoy! • ✔ DiResta Hammers Nails

11/28/23 your favorite hammer like what your dad had. This video had me using every tool I could with a belt clip. It also got me thinking about how a tool could be better. It also was the birth of trolls but I never saw any flaws only innovation. This video altered my perception of what a tool could be. A one of a kind piece.
The one tool that is the corner stone of building, making, creating, and Jimmy Makes it Cool! Loved this one video!
Izzy !! Thank you for the love!!! your jigs are amazing !!!!
Thank you Jimmy, Seriously admire what you do and your talent.
Get Jiggy Izzy ... (Sing that in Will Smiths voice.. ) :D
izzy swan is IN DA HOUSE...two Mad creators here...

I miss Dirty Money, but I'm glad you're on RUclips. It's great to see your wild ideas every week or so!
Putting your name on your tools just got elevated to fine art. A knockout, Jimmy!
xo
This is by far my favorite video you have! I love this one so much I watched it one time and it got me out of my 5 year funk. My dad worked at Estwing for 23 years before he died of a car crash. This video reminds me of him for some reason and it just makes me happy to see that there are people out there who are into working with their hands as much as he was.
Thank you!
Jimmy needs his own show again. I think the maker culture is calling for it. Jimmy...it's time.
My god, scrolling down its amazing how many people see someone creating and the first reaction is to tear them down. Fortunartely they are still in the minority but FFS - I just don't understand. I am so impressed having just come across your channel.
I believe this is a perfect idea that every hummer should have with this kind of hook on it, and maybe a bigger loop on the end, so you could easily hang it on your tool belt.
Hi Jimmy , I bought my very first Estwing in 1970 , my buddy had already bought his and welded a similar belt attachment as yours , to his hammer .
He asked me at the time did I want my hammer doing like his .
I said no . I wish I had said yes , as mine died recently , the rivets holding the base plate came off .
My buddies hammer is still going strong as his was strengthened by the plate he welded on to his hammer .
Great video by the way mate , liked and subscribed .
Simply but creative and super functional. Another homerun. I like that wood handle design too.
It's wonder you stand up Jimmy, carrying so much with you all the time! And as always great build.
All of my hammers are going to have a clip now, best video to date.
That's a clever solution. Good choice on Estwing. In my opinion some of the best hand tools made. I buy the vintage hammers and hatchets every time I see them at the flea market. Thanks for sharing Jimmy.
me too! tx bro!
Impractical, i did the same thing a long, long , long time ago...minus the loop.(the loop actually is practical , cause you can hang it on a Monster Hook attachment) You take away the room to hold the hammer properly, by putting the hook over the handle, it sucks, and gets in the way...Its cool...but impractical.
Devils “cool but impractical” is that a contradiction in terms.
I was watching dirty money on Netflix but I had to pause it to watch this haha, I can't get enough Diresta! You are such a pro
Thank you !!!!
Dirty money's on Netflix? since when?
Lol I'm watching Netflix and this too. Not dirty money tho, idk what that is
Dirty money is a show he(diresta)used to have. Look it up, it's really good.
William Bogan I was watching about Tesla on Netflix, but I saw a new DiResta video so I had to pause to watch. Cannot get enough of Jimmy!
It is just a pleasure to watch you work!!!! TV show, you don't need no stinking TV show! Yeah I know, I just aged myself!
2 videos in 1 week.. Now, this is my type.. Jimmy, I am really amazed by this. Even a simple project can make a dig difference. Keep it up, Jimmy!!
That is just about the coolest hammer mod ever!
garlands on the role of lighting - it's brilliant
There's nothing better then modiyfing a tool fit the need rather then getting a new one to fit a purpose.
A clever, modern version of the old leather strap through the handle. Well done Jimmy!
Nice one Jimmy,
how many times have I hung the hammer by the claw on my belt then watched it fall off. Love the way that you never have to buy parts, just make it from scraps. You are a pure artisan.
Why do I find this guy so cool? Even tho I don't have a hobby like this!
Awesome video again as always gave this little mod a try myself and must say it works just fine used it on a couple of projects and no hand chunks missing again great job.
Love watching your videos! I normally take a screw eye and attach to all my wooden handles hammers... now I have a solution for the metal ones....
Awesome work. Your videos inspire me to get to work with my hands every time I see'em. Never stop making these. Cheers.
I saw they making this *exact* model of hammer on How It's Made...
it's pretty nice!
Another cool video. Thx jimmy
Thank you brother !!

if Jody is giving you props you MUST be doing something right ;)
van guard
Absolutely !! Jody knows what he is talking about.. Both of those Guys are amazing .
You finally blowing up buddy! Remember the days of 300 views? Well deserved. Awesome artist.
Great stuff. I cannot get enough of these videos.
thank you please tell a friend!
Very nice Jimmy! One more piece of hardware to add to the EDC...
That Stanley 10-812 is the best razor knife ever made.
lol....only you Jimmy could make a timelapse of a hammer mod look so cool!
A great upgrade to keep a hammer handy.
Nice Work. Impressed with innovative people always. Thanks.
I like this DiRista fella. He gets it done without much said!😆👍
real man don't talk too much haha
O really, that's what defines a "real man"?.
I sure hope this turns into a mile long comment list😆
Great idea and follow up. Hammer needs to be on display somewhere.
you are gifted . and are a true craftmen .love your video's
nice job. you're always doing interesting things. I wouldn't have put the belt loop thing on because i like holding the hammer from the but most of the time but the ring on the other end would be perfect coupled with a hook on your belt.
I so love an estwing. I found my first one one the side of the road one day and shortly thereafter realized it was fate. There is no better hammer
Damn you're good. So simple but very clever. If I could weld I would make one immediately.
Good idea, but for me that would get in the way of where I hold a hammer.
Jimmy makes us wood workers want to be metal workers! Great job Jimmy!
Adam Roman Yes to that Adam
April you could do most of that in your shop with the tools you have and then take it to someone to have it welded on your hammer.
Dogwood Tales : ) I'll just wait until I can do it all myself, once I start on a project I don't really like other people getting involved. I'll learn how to weld one of these days.
That is a thing of beauty... Talk about making a silk purse from a sow's ear!
Suas ferramentas são boas e você as melhora ,cada trabalho seu por mais (simples) que seja é interessante de assistir , sempre fico na expectativa de novos vídeos Parabéns.
С таким удовольствием смотрю! Thank you!
thank you!
going to change the tone a bit from all the trolling, I think its a wicked idea, I'm a carpenter and personally I think the changes would effect it enough to bother me, but I think its really wicked, well made and smart, you could for sure still use it.
Taking tagging your stuff to an whole new level! Awesome vid and that hammer looks great!
It looks very professional, great work as always!
13.5", 20oz. Estwing hammer is the greatest hammer ever created.
Very cool. It looks to me like one has no other choice but to "choke up" on the hammer...
...if you have little hands..
Years ago (1979) I was a framing carpenter. I had a 28-ounce Eastwing with a waffle head. I used to choke up on it all the time. (I'm a civil-structural engineer now, but I still have the hammer.)
DiResta Hammers Nails
There ya go! "Speed nailing" -- which I've always liked -- and no choking up on the hammer!
bleoni
Nice hammer, shame you wrecked it. 2000+ thumbs up from people who don't really use hammers.
I like the idea, especially since carpenters pants/jeans have the tool loop so close to the knee. Makes for an uncomfortable day if you're moving around a lot. I will most certainly be doing this to a couple of my older blue Estwings.
amazing as always man. that came out so awesome. At first I thought you left the tag on and your were going to mod it and return it to the store for a lucky person in the future to pick up ha
a simple but brilliant solution.
That was amazing!
That's a nice tool. Good job.
That was a pleasure to watch mate. From England
Love the idea. A personalized hammer, that works for you in the way you use it, to make your life easier. What is the problem for all the negs? They can personalize their tools in any way that works for them and makes their lives easier... should they choose to get up off their third point of contact to actually do something worthwhile.
Thank you for that love !
excelente, todo un artesano de la epoca mediebal.... saludos
Just subscribed a few days ago and have already watched all your vids. Truly amazing stuff. Thanks for the inspiration!
Jimmy, a job simple but few know how to do. When my copy of your workshop is, I will also take a hammer to me. Your brazilian friend: Everde Jardinagem.
Cool idea ....... and awesome execution as usual!
I love watching your stuff. Just awesome.
Fancy hammer! Well done and thanks for sharing.
Amazing and educational, as always!. A hug from Spain
you make me inspired with every video. Thank you for sharing with the community!
Fra non molto farò un coltello karambit e lo pubblicherò tu sei sei il numero uno
jimmy excelente trabajo, muy buenas ideas Gracias
I'm very jealous of your Beaumont 2x72 belt grinder.
get one!! makes life simpler.
Awesome job bud. The camera work was just as good as your craftsmanship. It was very entertaining.
Thank you !!
that's pure genius man! great work and a great video
jimmy, you are the Batman of the carpentry, cheers from spain :D
I've had the same hammer for 20 years, it's only had 3 new shafts and two new heads.
I'm going to start stenciling all my tools and walls lol.
Good stuff buddy!
Very well done nice simple elegant love it
You are supposed to hold a hammer at the end of the shaft, how can you do this with that damn great clip there, I thing its a little dangerous as well,
Jimmy, that is a great idea! You always come up with some great ideas!
o martelo por si já é o melhor agora então ficou magnífico.
Very cool! I'd like to see how the multi tool is held on too
Inspired once again! Thanks, Buddy. Now I'm gonna venture out into my junk pile and make something Diresta Style..........
e. marion
Awesome idea and good work as always, but doesn't the hook get in the way of your grip?
You sir are a god dam genius, am literally going to copy you and mod my estwing the same way.
Nice tip. Great vid jimmy.
man, your videos are awesome. i am inspired
Is this designed to give you blisters or to force you to choke up on the hammer?
Your being sarcastic and silly bc you never tried it. It works well.
Dude welds & grinds with his Rolex on?!! ...Classssy
Well dude, im an avid viewer of your diy projects. But this hammer... i have a question. when handled it (for hitting nails, prying etc.), the hook on the handle will not be uncomfortable to your hand? i mean, the handle is nice and sleed, and if you want to get a good grip on it, that hook will be in wour way.
That looks great, but for mounting on belt, wouldn't mounting the hook near the head of the hammer be better, because then it would be mounted near the center of mass?
Once again... You are awesome!!!
I dig it, also I laugh at all the ways you are able to put your name on things.
Great idea Jimmy!!
Surprised you haven't broken more cameras with the welding recorded on it.
Great vid :)
never one! welding just hurt humans , i guess.
Man, that was a sick video! Thanks for posting!
WTF how cool is that, you learn something new every day, and i saw your AK 47 guitar as well, totally awesome
Great idea!
Chris
That's awesome. I hate toolbelts. Good idea
Whats the loop for? Have you ever thought of making a type holder for stamping metal. Love to see a video on that. Great video! Love your channel
Cool project, dude!
I think its cool that you can do this but I've found that having the head of the hammer....the weight, is more comfortable to carry high around waist level instead
of dangling down and hitting me in the (1) thigh, with a regular 20oz or (2) hitting me knee cap while I walk with a 28 oz framing hammer. That being said, you can't choose a better one to work with than an Estwing!
Awesome idea and video. Just wondering if this is going to become part of the EDC? Also I'm curious how you keep your pants up with all that awesome stuff attached to your belt and in your pockets.
You keep putting things on that belt and you are going to need suspenders to keep your pants up. Enjoyed watching, thanks for sharing.
Oh sweet, Now you can use it as a grappling hook!
