The first big sunfish was a bluegill but the second was a bluegill red breast hybrid. I catch them a lot in the creek on my property. Great video as always. Thank you for your hard work
Monday in NH we had 55 degree temps and no more snow. Today we had the first of three big heavy snow falls we’re getting over the next 10 days. Someone save me 😂
John , Great Video and Outstanding Creek Fishing. It's really good to be able to get on the creek and catch bass and sunfish, spring will be here before we know it. God Bless You and keep up the good work. Tim L.
creek fishing is so much fun with light tackle... i've learned a lot from a very healthy creek that runs near my house... i wish i took this up when i was younger... only 35years old, i guess its never to late to start
I am a recent subscriber to your channel and I have picked up some excellent tips on creek and river fishing. I’ve been doing this for over 50 years but you never stop learning. I’m going out tomorrow and Saturday for some bass fishing on a nearby small stream. They have really started to turn on pre spawn here.
@@CreekFishingAdventures turns out me and my brother caught 30 bass, all species, smallmouth, largemouth and spotted bass. Caught many on the hellgrammite… my new favorite.
Yes Monday was a great day to be out fishing as well this whole week, so far, with these warm temps they ought to be active, great drone footage, that's beautiful ranch! I looked up the differences between a male & female blue gill, pretty interesting & bream is another name for them, keep up the great work!🎣
Can't wait until I even see a bluegill moving around here in Northern California. Snowing here in the foothills, excited to get out on some of my own adventures but for now I'll just enjoy yours.
That Baby Bass Bobby Garland bait looked phenomenal! That Bluegill looked like it was some sort of hybrid? Bluegill and Green sunfish maybe? Overall, another great video! Thanks for sharing!
Nice to see the creeks coming to life. Great video John. You seem to like the Chota products so I ordered a pair of those Chota Hybrid 800's that you suggested. I can't wait to try them out!
You looked pretty brave taking the pic of the first bass, looked like the fish and your phone were hanging over the water! Also I saw a guy pulling in bass in that last spot yesterday, made me think of you. Good video
At 4:00 I caught one last month. It has the same hybrid pattern but it's more yellowish and golden brown color. Can't wait for spring to arrive this winter cold is really depressing.
Fred T here. It could be dangerous wearing those waders in your kayak if the fill with water they could drag you under. I don't fish much anymore. But sure enjoy your videos keep them coming. thanks for the bible verses at the end of each video . I appreciate your stand for the Lord
I have heard that but never tested it out. May have to try reentry into my boat with waders, waders with a belt, and no waders to see what the difference is but I am gonna wait til it warms up for that test. Rain pants work good to keep your legs a little drier and warmer from paddle drip and splash in the winter.
@@bartfoster1311 I’ve waded through creeks before and it really does weigh you down. Makes it really hard to walk. Couldn’t imagine how it would be too swim.
John you have evolved!! Great video, love the drone footage. You always made good videos, but these are even BETTER!!! Love them, keep up the great work!
I used to use Abu Garcia revos exclusively until the side plates kept flying off for no reason, 3 wound up in the lake. I switched to Shimano slx xt's and I never looked back. Be blessed brother...
Recent suscriber exploring your channel. Its great, specally 4 me as South american angler, to see completely different species there in the US. Keep up good work!
the best waders I've ever owned are from Simms. I use nothing but breathable waders. About twenty years ago I got my hands on a pair of waist high waders from Simms, and use them 80% of the time I'm wading. Easy to get on and they are very comfortable. About ten years into using them I paid the vast sum of $75 to rebuild them (including new booties), and they found various leaks which they sealed for me. Now I'm ready to buy another pair of them. Next thing with stocking foot waders is boots. Don't go cheap! You'll regret it everytime you hit the creeks. I use Korkers, but have used Simms and several others.
@garytotty3971, I wade sandy creeks in my sneakers with shorts on but pebbles and sand in my shoes are a problem. I want to get some wading shoes and socks to keep out the pebbles and sand. Any recommendations?
@@christopherwood2290 I've never found a good wet wading sock to this very day. Simms sold a pair that was way over priced bu comfortable. I have some new ones from Costco that look to fit the bill, but have not been in the water with them. As for shoes, around my place you end up crossing slabs of rocks often. Trust they get slick. I have some new soles to try out with a new pair of Korkers this year. They look like really coarse Scotch Brite pads! If they don't work I'll just go back to the generic felt soles. There are plenty of good boots reasonably priced these days, but I happen to like Korkers for their support on my ankles. Danners are fairly good, but they tend to cut into my calves. I do recommend wearing gravel guards, and this maybe all you need. I know a lot of guys that wear the "hippers", and have tried them. Just not fun when cold waters gets inside them. The waist highs work a lot better for me
one thing I didn't say anything about is when your wading in warm weather and also warm water. You tend to sweat! I'vr tried all the big name brands and went right back to Simms everytime. Never ever wear jeans inside a pair of waders, as they will eventually ruin them. Best I found was the polar fleece pants in cold water (there are three weights), and believe it or not; silk long johns in the summer or even winter (I've been seen in water with chunks of ice flowing by me). The idea is to wick all the moisture off your skin. Also make or buy a wading staff (ski poles to pretty good). Might save your life!
The wild bluegill you got at 3:19 is just your ordinary bluegill, they get more of a pale gold color when its cold out and they get extra fat like that. They also get that color in murky water when cold. Up here in Michigan they get super fat like that but get way bigger :)
John , a friend & I use to go down to the local creek & there was a deep hole there was pieces of large crawdads pinchers. I had caught Small 🦐 mouth further up the creek! Man I bet there was some Nice Small mouth in there! Do you ever use Lindy lured?? I think 🤔 they send ya'' catalog or On Line. Root beer color jig is my favorite, check it out. May God Bless you on your fishing 🎣 adventures!
My Sunday morning starts at church from 8 AM until noon to 1 depending. Then I take the dog out to run. Pretty soon he is going to be doing his running on the creek bank with me on Sundays after church.
@@CreekFishingAdventures They rehears and do sound check between 8 and 9:30 then service is at 10:30 I believe. Some times we have to set up if there had been other events in the theatre the previous week.
Cold weather and small area may have given that female bluegill a little less color and more angle on the head and tail without taking away from the fat/meat growth.

i would think the lifejacket will still hold you up
The life jacket would hold your face out of the water. If the waders balloon full of water it can make it heavier and hard to get back into the boat.
Love the music goes with the environment

I bet that spring water is 8-10 degrees warmer than the main river which is why the fish are holding in the warmer water.

Did you ever ask the land owner is you can walk the creek? That would be awesome to find out what it really offers.
thers one section i have done a couple times from asking the landowner, i need to try more areas
Can you do a review on the Lews custom lite spinning reel
That may be a pumpkinseed I have caught them when I lived in Georgia
I got on the yellow bass today buddy!!! They are starting to move up our local TN creeks!!! Have you caught any yet??

What in the world!? Your reel!! Lol
Aren’t those fish redears or redear blue hill hybrid?
Cold weather and small area may have given that female bluegill a little less color and more angle on the head and tail without taking away from the fat/meat growth.
YUUHHH
What part of Tennessee are you in
I have heard people call those “shellcracker.”
The excitement in your voice for those small Fish is Great, You Keep it Real Also how Big Would those Largemouth Grow in a Creek that size?
they can get a couple pounds easy but they need a lot of food
Kind of a crappie bluegill mix??
John do you think 🤔 it was a Pumpkin seed cross over!!??
i never get pumpkinseed around here but i think it could have been mixed with another sunfish
Thats a LOT of hamburgers!!!! Mooooooooooo
Go ketch some fish.Good content. Thanks for the video 👃
Female Blue Gill !
One time I caught a pound bass In a creek behind a H-E-B not even 5 feet wide I could jump across
Some of those so-called largemouth are actually spotted bass because the mouth doesn't extend beyond the eye. (Not all of them you caught were)
Mixed with a crappie?
I think somone is walking down from the house and feeding them white bread..
Nice vid btw first🎉
Can you confirm the fish? Looks like bowfin to me
People don't realize that if dropping them back in the water hurt them they wouldn't jump out of the water!

yes its always interesting watching those videos
