Since it’s that time of year, I just want to again thank you for all you do posting videos of your journey and sharing the experience with us all. You’re an amazing human from what I’ve seen and quite frankly a blessing to us all. Keep safe, God bless, and Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Love your videos. Love your beliefs. Thank you for wholesome fishing content in every video! I pray God blesses you John! I have started making videos myself and you are my inspiration to make these videos and memories. Gonna try to praise the Lord in all I do. Keep on keeping on!
It seemed like home away from home John always bringing us the best content no matter where it takes you! You really have to have your head on a swivel keeping watch for those bigger toothy creatures lol! Thanks for sharing I’m glad you stayed safe keep pushing forward to making awesome videos like this! Tight lines take care and God bless!
That first bass was likely spawning. Yes, bass start spawning here in December. When you come across thick weeds like you did in the 4:40 mark, that is where you must punch through that with a flipping rod. Quietly flip a Florida rigged bait on a 1 ounce weight (Tungsten) and hold on.
Lookin' good today, in sunny F.L.A ! I know, this was from eariler, but I digress. You always find a lot of action on your annual trip to the Sunshine State. Loved the footage of indigenous flora and fauna. Also , the drone shots were amazing. Watch out for the "Gators, especially on the ball court! LOL! Pap Blevins
@@HS-hr5wp I had a buddy in college from St. Petersburg who loved to bass fish down there with his Cuban Grandfather who told him as good as the Florida bass fishing was the fish in Cuba were even better.
Oscar's are the best tasting fresh water fish in south Florida how do I know, had many fish fried events and the compliments were thru the roof, great video 👍
Florida waters are just amazing! I’d love to fish down there. That’s the prettiest spotted sunfish I’ve ever seen !❤️ Looking forward to more vids from S FLA
You headed down to Florida where it's warm. Meanwhile, I spent today in Northeast Oklahoma where it's trout season (they're stocked in a few ponds and rivers here in December and January) and I finally caught my first ever trout on a chilly, overcast, drizzly day.
I think you should try big rubber worms, when you get back home with a fish painter on the big rivers you can throw hellbender crankbait - they will be grouping up end of feb. solid start to this trip - hope you can do some sw
You floated past Florida College! I know lots of people who have taught and gone to school there. I’ll be down there in February for their annual lectureship! Gonna have to take some rods and spend some time fishing that water.
great video and great fishing!! thank you for sharing and taking us along with you!! beautiful area!! have a good day and week. stay safe, god bless and happy holidays to you and your.
@ you look good brother. I also wanted to tell you thank you. Watching your videos inspired me to be a better man and I found Christ this November 24th! I was savedb and am finally HOME! You keep fighting the good fight man ❤
Any size gator is trouble there fast too Especially when you don't see them. I'll stick with fishing in Indiana. I know I'm a chicken. I fished down in the glades before when I was a kid but I didn't know any better. My uncle Bob wasn't scared of anything he lived there for years Loved to bass fish. Nice video John. Change of pace again. Gotta go where the fish are.
I love how your paddle's are busted. I've still got the original paddle's I bought with my first fishing kayak in 2011. All busted and looking special needs, but I think they bring the good luck with all the time I have spent on the water. Guess eventually Il have to get a new set.
Hi, I watch your videos all the time and I saw your latest Florida trip, I could tell that you were in North Port just off Price on the canal by Public Works. I don't have a kayak but I bike/fish and this canal is one of my stops but normally I fish on the opposite side of where you put in because of deeper water. I have caught some 4 pounders here using a Fluke Watermelon Red. If you're ever back around I like to meet you as I live in North Port.
You never know what you're gonna catch in our canals. Just keep your eyes open cause a gator could appear out of nowhere and scare the crap out of you! 😮 I speak from experience 😊
I fished the exact same spot at the end of the video a couple weeks ago. Caught a few and a 10+ ft gator jumped over that little dam and met me at the bank.
I wish I knew when you come down this way. I you fish a lot of my frequent spots. If you haven't tried it, my go to lure down there is a 1/16oz zman og shroomz with a hot snakes tiny ticklerz. It works very well down here.
Having endless canals and ponds around my house I rarely fish for largemouth. The simple fact that it's almost impossible to not fish for snook, redfish, and other countless species.
Well I'm in Jax where you at? Haha Im currently trying to see how many days in a row I can fish. It's hard sometimes with work and responsibilities. Starred Nov 9 and still going strong.
The article “And the Oscar goes to… Florida” suggests that Oscars were deliberately introduced into the canals of suburban Miami in the late 1950s by an aquarium fish farm. The author implies that this was an intentional release, rather than an accidental introduction. The Florida Fishing Regulations for Oscar in FL State Waters state that there is no minimum size limit, no bag limit, and no closed season for Oscars. However, it’s illegal to introduce non-native fish, including Oscars, into Florida waters.
John I love watching your videos being from Tennessee too but I see you blowing by spots that I would fish your kyack is going way too fast slow it down and I bet you catch more and probably bigger fish not a pro by any means Ilike I said I love watching you but maybe try to slow the yak down a little I see good spots that you miss and I'm like I'd be throwing in that spot but just some input brother I'll continue watching to see if you do what I say good luck happy fishing brother
It is illegal to release Oscars in Florida as they are considered a non-native invasive species, and releasing any non-native fish into Florida waters without a permit is prohibited by law; doing so can result in fines and potential legal consequences.
John State Record Weight: The Florida state record for spotted sunfish is 0.83 pounds (13.28 ounces). Big Catch Qualifying Weight and Length: To qualify for the Big Catch program, spotted sunfish need to exceed 0.50 pounds or 7 inches in length for adults, and 0.40 pounds or 5 inches in length for youth.
I look forward to your Florida trip every year. Makes for good viewing when it is 22 F in the morning.

Amazing bass to start off the show Jon!!! Wooooooo weeeeeeeeeee!!!! Love those dark colors on it!
Love your videos. Love your beliefs. Thank you for wholesome fishing content in every video! I pray God blesses you John! I have started making videos myself and you are my inspiration to make these videos and memories. Gonna try to praise the Lord in all I do. Keep on keeping on!
"A slab of a something" is one of my favorite fish to catch.
During the winter months here in Tennessee, I look forward to you Florida canal fishing videos.
Try a trip to Lake Havasu sometime, same size bass and no gators to worry about! Be safe big guy
Awesome video!! I love the variety you bring never gets old 👍

I am jealously sitting in germany, while its cold and rainy. Keep brining some vids from the sun. Thx!
Nice largies and fun with the cyclids and sunfish. Enjoy!
Beautiful fish! Looks like a good time!
Always love the Florida videos! Can't wait for the day you and First State fish together

Very enjoyable video. First canal was short on quantity but certainly not quality. Second canal just looked like loads of fun. Thanks for sharing.
That Oscar would go in my tank😊
There is no way there’s not a world record bass in those Florida canals.
Most of our farm ponds have a bunch of plus 12s

i need to try eating one
I fish that second canal all the time, glad you enjoyed it!
Great scenery and looks like great time , would be a great job to have
I've never been to Florida, but I sure would like to go fish the canals
I had an Oscar in the 80's in my aquarium days. My friend had a salt water tank. Those fish were beautiful, and expensive. High maintenance
Florida waters are just amazing! I’d love to fish down there. That’s the prettiest spotted sunfish I’ve ever seen !❤️

they were really colorful

I love the Florida videos off Tamiami Trail- I live here and still haven't fished it yet!
Pure peacefulness
Oscars are great eating. You can only release them where you caught them. No releasing them in different bodies of water.
Beautiful trip Sir! These cold days in TN makes for some rough fishing sometimes.
I think you should try big rubber worms, when you get back home with a fish painter on the big rivers you can throw hellbender crankbait - they will be grouping up end of feb. solid start to this trip - hope you can do some sw
Nice. I'm heading down from KY the week of Christmas with the kayak to explore and fish.
Atta boy John 👍 Thanks for sharing and have a Blessed Day 🙏
Great video john some nice fish for sure

Awesome video big win Go big blue
Big Blue is doing pretty good right now
Lets link up while you're in Florida and do some juvenile tarpon fishing.

the Florida state record for Spotted Sunfish (Lepomis punctatus), also known as Stumpknockers, is 0.83 lbs (13.28 ounces).

Looks like a good time
Merry Christmas!

oh thats really cool, there is so much water around I just wat to explore so much
I used to live in south Florida I got a bunch of good spots if you need some pins
oh thanks, i plan to go back again maybe later this winter
It makes me so nervous to watch you fish and see gators. But a great video🐟🎣🐟🎣
You need to use the Swamp Spider in them canals.
i should have
You never know what you're gonna catch in our canals. Just keep your eyes open cause a gator could appear out of nowhere and scare the crap out of you! 😮 I speak from experience 😊
good stuff
.83 of a pound is florida standing record for a spotted sunfish.
I fished the exact same spot at the end of the video a couple weeks ago. Caught a few and a 10+ ft gator jumped over that little dam and met me at the bank.
oh wow

He’s SOOO afraid of alligators. It’s hilarious! 😂
Yeah, who would be afraid of a tooth filled 300 lb. Dinosaur that's attracted to splashing fish. While in a small kayak.
@ spoken like a true chicken. 🐔
Alligators would LOVE eating you.
Nice stumpknockers.
oh yes, they were pretty hard fighters
@ love seeing where the channels gone these past few years. 👏
Nice bro
Having endless canals and ponds around my house I rarely fish for largemouth. The simple fact that it's almost impossible to not fish for snook, redfish, and other countless species.
Why is it impossible to not for those species? Or do you mean because you enjoy it more than fishing for largies?
@BT1919 because I enjoy catching the other species more.
i would like to fish for snook in canals, i have caught a few around everglades city
It took you 3 days to get there? From Tn to Fla?
Nice scenery and a couple of nice fish. No alligators on your first day in the kayak?
didnt see any in the kayak
At 4:30 a great opportunity was missed by not throwing a frog or a speed worm over the top of that mess of blown debris. Back to the video...
was thinking the same thing!
If you come through Jax, youre welcome to fish my small lake.
Well I'm in Jax where you at? Haha
Im currently trying to see how many days in a row I can fish. It's hard sometimes with work and responsibilities. Starred Nov 9 and still going strong.
Anyone who quotes the Bible and gets excited over panfish is my kinda angler! Can I ask what city you were in?
North port
Turn to Jesus if you haven't already he loves you everyone!
What does that have to do with the video 😐
Let’s see the Suburban one day.
Spotted sunfish record in Florida is 0.83 lbs
I checked Ga's record and it's 12 Oz or .75 lb.
Man the bots were quick to this one lol
they are immediate
Watch out for gators!
Gar is a favorite food for gators 😢

there is so much water to explore, i could never fish it all so i go fast just to see some of it
👍🏻👍🏻💯💯🇺🇸🇺🇸☕️☕️🎣🎣

You can legally release an invasive in the water where it was caught. You can't legally transfer them or release your pets.
it's not illegal to release one that you've just caught back into the same area
No seatbelt seriously
Amen, Jesus Christ is the answer to all of our concerns and he will save our souls. God bless and get out and enjoy God’s wonders. 🙏🇺🇸
