    Today is a good day we both rocking white T shirts and camera equipment is getting better. I'm still using Canon 80d with kit lens 55-250mm 5.6 if I want to upgrade with a budget of $1000 would you still recommend the zv 10 camera or should I get a better lens for my 80d?

    • @BeyondTheGame_E
      @BeyondTheGame_E  6 месяцев назад +2

      Well with $1000 you wouldn’t have enough money for the ZV-E10 II and a lens. You could get the kit lens for an extra $100 but it’s not great for sports since the zoom is quite short. So, unless you’re willing to push your budget a bit more, I would just get a good lens for now. But that would mean that you are investing long term in Canon equipment so make sure that this is the path you want.

      I don't really know much about Lumix lenses but if there are any with the same specs as the lenses I used in this video, that's what I would go for. Also, why do you want to switch to the A73 specifically? It's a good camera but with very old technology.

    What budget camera would you recommend to record kids soccer games. Ideally I would like to set it up and let it record without having to mess with it too much. I like paying attention to the game.

    • @BeyondTheGame_E
      @BeyondTheGame_E  5 месяцев назад +1

      Usually it's one or the other. You either watch the game as a fan, or you actively film it. But you can't really do both. Because if you don't want to touch the camera while it's recording, that will have to come with a huge sacrifice in quality of the footage. But if you're just going to put a camera on a tripod and let it run by itself, I would recommend to get a GoPro or a cheap camcorder. You'll basically end up with a very static super wide shot of the entire pitch for the whole game.

  • @ggTeaTime

    I'd like to look into the Sony ZV E10 for Padel (so not as many long range shots) but using it on sticks for like a basic live broadcast on Twitch etc. Could you recommend any lenses for that? Don't need super distance necessarily.

    • @BeyondTheGame_E
      @BeyondTheGame_E  Месяц назад

      I don't know much about Padel but I would assume that a 24-70mm lens or a cheaper Tamron 28-70mm would do the job.

    Really Nice content. Regards from Brazil. Using SLog 3, how did you setup The exposure for not having grains? I heard about setting It Up at +1.7 to take The best results. Do you agree with It? Which software did you use in these videos for Collor grading (basketball and football)? So much questions. Lol!! I am sorry. But I have already taken a ZV1 Mark 2 exactly to debut on sports filmmaking here in Brazil.

    • @BeyondTheGame_E
      @BeyondTheGame_E  2 месяца назад +1

      Yes I typically keep the exposure metering between 1.3 and 1.7. But the most important thing to avoid grain is to use the base ISO values only (800 & 2500). For color grading, I do it all in Premiere Pro just like the rest of my editing. Thank you for your support and good luck!!

    • @BeyondTheGame_E
      @BeyondTheGame_E  Месяц назад

      I wouldn't consider the lack of 4K/120 recording a major weakness. 4K/120p is never good on an APS-C camera because it comes with a huge crop and a big loss of image quality. So I do believe that this camera (ZV-E10 II) is the best budget camera for sports videography. But unfortunately I don't know anything about under water equipment so I can't help you there. Regarding lenses, you can use any lens. You'll just have a wider image which can also be a cool thing depending on what you are trying to achieve.

      It won't be any harder than any other mirrorless camera. But coming from a handycam where I assume you mostly use auto settings, you will probably need to learn a thing or two about exposure and colors to maximize its potential.

    • @U2TV_Sportscast
      @U2TV_Sportscast 6 месяцев назад

      @BeyondTheGame_E yeah, I am not looking forward to that part. Several times, I tried to play with my settings in my handycam, something goes wrong. One time I did it before a football game, and my display was all white. I guess I turned the exposure to high. I panicked and it took me 5 minutes to get it back to the correct exposure. I never messed with exposure again. 😂😭😭

    • @BeyondTheGame_E
      @BeyondTheGame_E  6 месяцев назад

      @@U2TV_Sportscast yeah you must be in auto then, otherwise the exposure is something that you need to adjust every time. But it's really not that hard once you understand how it works. Plenty of youtube videos will teach you in a few minutes and then it's just practice.

    HELP!! I bought this camera to record my sons hockey games but I cannot figure out how to lock in the focus so the netting around the rink doesn't screw up the focus. Used it today for the first time in a game and it came out terrible. Had much better results with a regular iPhone.

    • @BeyondTheGame_E
      @BeyondTheGame_E  4 месяца назад

      This is not really a camera issue, it’s just how autofocus works. You can either do what a phone does, which is to use a very high aperture to get everything in focus. Or you could shoot in manual focus. Or you could get so close to the netting that the camera can’t focus on it. Or you could buy a 70-200mm Sony lens and turn on the feature that prevents it from focusing on anything 3M or closer.
