    Throw a Feather blade in the 0.70 Mamba, It makes a difference. I thought the same as you with the mamba, that it was a bit too mild... The feather does help the mamba in my opinion..Feather blades are rough on the 1st shave then mellow out on subsequent shaves..

      I can’t use a feather. Eats my neck. I should try a shim in the mamba 70. That may help it. I have it for sale for now.

      I usually rub the new feather blade on an old jean s a few times to get rid of the glitch

      I'll hand strop it...jeana...towels... or sometimes run it thru the paper wrapper. Same idea !

    I bought the Game Changer .76 head. 👍

      @alspencer2794 how do u like it?? I tried a shim that in theory should put the .68 to a .78 and it did help efficiency but still didn’t make it nearly as efficient as a Rockwell 4 plate. I think a .84 GC may work for me but worried too much blade feel.
      I may try 2 shims for .88 GC and see how that feels

      I really like the .76 head. I don’t think a shim gives the same feel as a precision machined head. Lots of shavers out there like the .84 but I’m kinda a mild razor guy. I think a good pre shave routine can make a real difference in the outcome.

      @@alspencer2794I would have to try the shim vs the base plate. Unless the base plate also changes blade exposure then it’s only the difference between .76 and .78 which I don’t think anyone would be able to feel. The shim doesn’t let any more movement of the top cap or anything so lockup is the same.
      It wasn’t until I learned how to face lather that I started getting consistent good/great shaves. I’ve tried Proraso pre shave, shave oils, razorock pre shave bar & can not tell any difference at all using them. Not like face lathering does.
      I used to shower before, exfoliate, hot towel. I don’t neeed any of it now. I can even use cold water. Doesn’t matter as long as a work up a dense hydrated face lather with the right razors I get a good shave.
      My neck is just sensitive & too much blade exposure on a more aggressive razor will irritate my face on ATG pass.

      @@Stubblemeetssteel you know, I started face lathering 3 years ago but it kinda made a mess of the soap. Maybe I need to try it again. Thanks for the insight. Thanks for getting back. I just enjoy talking about wet shaving.

    I have the UFO on my Game Changer .68 & .76 and the Bull Dog on my Mamba 70. Try the UFO on your Game Changer. It might make a difference.
    Also Perma-Sharps were my go to but lately I’ve tried Personna Platinums. I only have 5 razors and the Persona Platinums are awesome in each one no matter what soap I use.
    To help with your comparison, use an aluminum block. That will really show the difference in blade/razor combinations.
    BTW, I just subscribed and love your content.

    I find its more comparable to the 4 plate in efficiency. That's with me using Permasharp.

      @Stubblemeetssteel  8 месяцев назад +1

      i wish it was for me then i would like the GC .68 more. Its definitely more a 3 plate for me.

    • @RichardE62
      @RichardE62 8 месяцев назад

      @@Stubblemeetssteel try different blades. I had to. Permasharp worked for me but might not for you. Try a Feather or Bic Chrome Platinum. You know the run down I'm sure. I have different razors that do a better job with milder blades for sure. Maybe try an 84 plate. You probably have different needs than me probably. I use a 6 plate with the Rockwell but it burns my neck to get off the neck stubble. Does great everywhere else. The 68 takes it off. I can't explain it. The Rockwell is. 74 on the 6 plate. Not much more than the 68. Truth be known I'd like to try a 76 plate on the game changer. They aren't making them right now though. They will again I think but I'm on the waiting list. It might not do as well though. My Slant razor does pretty good but not any better than the 68. I get weepers with it to.

    How would you compare the GameChanger 68 and the Lupo you have ? Do you prefer one over the other ?

    • @Stubblemeetssteel
      @Stubblemeetssteel  9 месяцев назад +1

      Good question! Depends on your shaving needs & facial hair type. The gamechanger has less blade feel & is more mild. For me to get a BBS shave with the gamechanger I have to use a super sharp blade. The Lupo has more blade feel but it’s not over the top. The lupo is much more efficient & gets me BBS way easier.
      I don’t love the lupo with the aluminum handle. I definitely like it better with a heavier SS handle.
